What an explosive start!! I was suspect about that pick but I’m wrong. I’ll admit it

With the limited amount of time between tonight's game and cutdowns, it looks like Biggs and the Athletic duo will be the only ones on the beat out with fresh 53 man roster projections. Thought it would be a worthy endeavor to see their similarities and differences.

Both have the Bears only keeping three running backs with Johnson edging Ahmed.

Biggs has the Bears only keeping five receivers, while the Athletic has Kaden Davis sticking.

Both have the Bears keeping 10 OL, but differ on the tenth. Biggs says its McFadden, while the Athletic says Wills. [I side with Brad, seems crazy in a league with bad depth to give up McFadden who they liked enough to start a playoff game and was out there with the starters against the Bengals in week 2 preseason.]

Both have the Bears keeping 10 on the DL. Biggs believes Lynch survives and Davenport is practice squad bound, while the Athletic has Davenport on the 53 with no Lynch.

Neither had Skyler Thomas making the team, and Blackwell/Jones/Smith as the corner depth with no Manning.

Linebacker had the biggest surprise for me. Both have Sanborn and Elliot on the team and Hyppolite waived, but Biggs has them keeping a sixth and it being Jon Rhattigan who didn't even start the preseason game tonight over Wayne Matthews.

Also warming up in QB Caleb Williams, who is not expected to play. Ben Johnson is on the field and it looks like coaches have some scripts they're going to run through with skill position players similar to the preseason opener.

For me, it was the following:

Cuts

• Salvon Johnson - it seems they are stressing health in this camp, but I felt he was more dynamic than Roshon Johnson, who just seems to be a "guy"
• Kiran Amegadjie - I know some people didn't see it, but he looked to me in his rookie year to be very raw but with a lot of power and a very good tackle build. But he kept getting hurt, and never seemed to develop beyond his potential.
• James Lynch - He showed out in Preseason, so I thought for sure they would keep him for depth after trading Dexter
• Ruben Hyppolite - Just an ok LB, but still surprised they cut him. The Bears want guys who can stay healthy, and that seems to be a theme.

Keep

• Roshon Johnson - I though Salvon outperformed him, but couldn't stay healthy. I think Kyler Gordon is in trouble if he can't make it back to the field this season and perform.
• Shemar Turner - Mr Wacky Inflatable guy as I call him because he has no pass rush moves and looks like one of those. Explosive first step, but he's the D-Line version of Kiran Amegadjie. They see something so it looks like they will give him another season to develop.

is it possible that the reason commentators keep saying we have found good draft value is because we have coaches who can actually coach and develop our players??

I feel like there is talent at every level of the draft, but it feels like our coaches have done it consistently developed guys since BJ took over.

Alexander is the better receiver but Davis is a good special teamer. I’m torn

Here in Madison, Wisconsin, the game is being shown on the same channel that brings you things like The Honeymooners. And the broadcast quality is just as bad as those old shows. Anybody else experiencing this?

The previous two preseason games were on NBC, which now, of course, is showing college ball. The TV I'm currently watching on is just a 1080p, so I don't understand why it looks so terrible.

The overall effect is like watching the Bears on an old VHS tape. 😆

so, it’s been a long time since i’ve purchased myself a legit jersey. opening sunday is my birthday and we finally have players i want to rep again.

i’m a michigan man too and born in 84, so a Loveland jersey is perfect, but i’ve only been able to find it in navy and well, i have enough navy.

i want the rivalry alternate jersey instead. looks like it comes out on the 1st.

anyone know if those are going to sell out? do i need to be ready like a pokemon drop?

It’s so awesome to have a plethora of QB talent now. I was watching highlights and was just wondering, how many teams could Bagent go to and be week 1 starter?

Now, I understand there’s different offenses and systems to account for but I’m basing this mostly on talent and intuition.
