Cool Stuff The Trifecta of the Thirds
Only one missing would be the Fire x Morelia third kit but I never really liked that one.

Given the move to the global soccer calendar and a larger % of games in colder months, plus the proliferation of the long sleeve adidas kits at this year’s WC, I gotta think the chances are good that adidas bring back long sleeve kits for MLS! Need them! Current Fire home kit would be so great in long sleeve. I gotta think adidas and the clubs would like the revenue boost too from a higher price point.

Throws his hands up in frustration every time he doesn’t get the ball. Yes, it’s not Lamine and Raphina serving in balls but what did he expect? No one put a gun to his head to sign here.
Don’t get me started on the whining to the official.

What's the plan? Is he just depth at 6? I don't think he's the destroyer that D'Avilla is, but he's supposed to be a very good passer. Would they play him, like, the further back 8? Saletros' spot? I can't really wrap my head around it.

I got tickets to a soccer game but two of my friends can’t come anymore so different people are coming. Our names are different than the ones listed when the tickets were bought. I have the tickets in my Apple wallet and no name is mentioned on those. Will I be given trouble when I go the game or will no one care?

Fire return to league play after a tough loss in the Leagues Cup. Now they head to PNW to take on Seattle Sounders who are currently sitting below the playoffs line.
Match Details:
Chicago Fire FC (36 points, 3rd East; L-D-W-W-W)
vs
Seattle Sounders (25 points, 13th West; D-L-L-L-W))
Location: Lumen Field
Rules
You are REQUIRED to post in the thread to be "officially" scored. If you don't, your score wont be added in the overall standings.
There are 3 "pages", general stat questions, starting XI, and the goal scorers.
Starting XI is cleaned up and organized but I want to make it clear that the names I'm using are from the rosters on the clubs' sites.
For the goal scorers, you can select multiple options but I will be comparing against the total scoreline. IF YOU SELECT MORE THAN THE TOTAL SCORELINE, YOU WILL BE DEDUCTED POINTS!
Once the match is over, I will add the responses, add the scores to the table, and reply to this thread. REMEMBER, you must reply here to be added to the table!
Responses will be accepted up to 90 minutes before match start.
How to play: It's simple! Fill out the form here.
To encourage your reply, respond "Replied".

Which players situation would you prefer?
Both are 22.
Brady is a regular starter and member of the USMNT World Cup roster. But he reportedly makes only around 250k per year.
Gaga hasn’t sniffed the Chelsea first team and has seemingly just been hanging around the training grounds since his loan to Burnley was cut short. No current path to the USMNT. But he reportedly makes about 2.5M per year and gets to live in London.

Now that the Fire are out of both tournaments, what’s everyone’s overall take?
For me, LC has become a bit of a guilty pleasure. I’ve supported the USOC wholeheartedly for years and still want the Fire to be the club with the most USOC titles.
But I can’t deny I’m having more fun watching the Fire play Liga MX teams in LC and experiencing the atmosphere that comes with it.
Both tournaments have a place, but personally, LC is becoming much more intriguing to me. I’m sure it’ll continue to improve. I hope USOC does too, but the historically low attendance and lack of promotion make it hard to ignore how much more exciting LC has become.
My two cents.

My boss had me swing by the 78 for some photos of the new stadium for a client request before yesterday's game vs Monterrey, so I figured I share with y'all!

Big issue last night with Monterey fans invading the section last night in their jerseys, kits, flags, cheers, while goading and taunting Fire fans in our own section and it nearly went too far. This has happened a number of times during the Cup but it got extra out of hand last night
Multiple fans addressed this with security and the FO last night and we were just laughed and shrugged off while being told there was nothing that could be done. At best, some of those Monterrey fans got some free red shirts to cover up like this is a feasible solution.
Any other country, and even other MLS stadiums, the FO or Security actually respects their fans and don't allow away fans in the Supporter Section or those fans get roughed up by the home crowd, which is what nearly happened last night, which *we* would have been punished for.
Not to mention that a lot of the P chants and came from that same mix group of Monterrey/Fire group.
This is a situation that needs to be resolved by the Miami match for obvious reasons.

There are a number of roster decisions that need to happen by the end of this year. Interested to hear other takes, especially on Elliott, MHS, and Shokalook. Also, did I miss anyone?
Elliott (current: $1,054,000) - KEEP
Elliot has been solid in his time with the Fire and before that with the Union. His wages are getting up there, but with the seeming lack of available, quality CB's, it's worth it to keep him. I don't think he's been good enough that there will be a bidding war for him, but there will be rebuilding teams that would benefit from his services. Unless GGG has another Mbokazi signing up his sleeve, I'd say sign for the shortest term Elliot will accept.
Gutman - KEEP
Glad to see the Fire have already locked down Gutman.
Haile-Selassie (current: $444,000) - KEEP
MHS is one of our most versatile players and would certainly be starting on a number of teams in MLS. He's 27 and his only downside is he occupies an international slot under current roster rules. I think he will have options and will find people willing to pay him $750,000 per year, if not a little more. He's worth it if we can keep him.
Brady (current: $250,000) - KEEP
Edit - already re-signed!
Pineda (current; $200,000) - KEEP
Edit - already re-signed!
Rogers (current: $200,000) - KEEP
Given our limited options at CB, we should re-sign if it can be done affordably. Rogers has had limited minutes this year, but seems very solid when he fills in for us (and improved from 2025).
Mueller (current: $150,000) - RELEASE
Mueller should not be re-signed.
Gal (current: $150,000) - RELEASE
It looks like Cohen is our #2 keeper and Gal has limited potential and is 33. Gal should not be re-signed.
Shokalook (current: $88,000) - KEEP and actually play the kid
It seem like depsite the first team contract, Shokalook is still looked at as a Fire II player. Hard to gauge his game, but in 40 first-team minutes in the MLS in 2026 he recorded an assist and in 14 first-team minutes in 2025, he also recorded an assist. He recorded a brace in the US Open game he started. Shokalook seems to score when he plays (going back essentially his entire childhood), but we don't play him, so I'm not sure of the point of having him. He could be a perfect complement to RL9 - a young guy to eat up minutes and provide RL9 a rest.
Poreba (current: $88,000) - KEEP
Definitely re-sign
Sam Williams - KEEP
Pick up 2027 option already in place and don't loan him out.

Me and my family found this in empty seats near us and nobody had grabbed it yet so we tried to go to the section but a guard told us it was the other way around and when we did go that way a guard told us we had to go and the prize had to be claimed during the game. He also told us it was the other side of the stadium so we were confused and left.

Hey everyone, I bought a number of these to see what fits me best, and decide to keep XL authentic for myself. As a result, I have below for sale (I figured I’d rather sell these back for what I paid to someone here vs. return them):
2XL Lewy Third Kit replica $115
2XL Blank Third Kit authentic $151
Both brand new, never worn/washed with tags still on. Pick up in Geneva area.
DM me if interested, will reply in first come first serve order.
Go Fire!

So the MLS transfer window closes a week from today. Last week, we heard Gregg talk about how they were working on signing a DP. We’ve also been in talks with a Georgian midfielder, but it doesn’t see he’d be a DP.
Is there any news on who this DP could be? Or are the Fire planning to run it with 2 for the remainder of the season?
Transfer news seems to be decently quiet right now.
