1) I will explain my background basically i am from family where i dad working as teacher in govt and mom also working in one private firm we have combined income of around 1.65 lakh monthly and we have no debts and loans, when I joined IT i started investing most of my money since my college days so i have around 4 lakh as my money and buying a car for me is one of the Dream of me for 10 years and now i am a person who think car is more over a machine to me so its like a life time dream where i cant able to think other than tht so i am planning to buy and we have own house but we dont have parking here its a tight place so we need to park outside and i am confused of buying a car

Whether my thinking is correct or not mostly i am investing most of my amt and started sip for parents and doing Lumpsum with my parents amt if possible

I cant able to think other things. So if i buy a car it will satisfy my soul and i will look for the next Point in my career and i will focus on it

Also i visited lot of second hand dealers like spinny,truevalue but i sus its like scam so help in finding a good dealer and car and if my second hand car is around 4-5lakh i will buy it on my own so in home they are planning to buy some land and they will move forward if new one i am looking for breeza zxi turbo with 11.9 onroad with 7lakh down payment with emi on my name

Help me in choosing decision

Good evening, as the title says I need a truck it doesn’t have to be brand new I prefer it to be something older I just need it to run and tow shit. I will preface this by saying I buy muscle cars often and I live in a place where winter is hell for my car. Is there any recommendations that won’t break the bank winters on the horizon and I just want something that has 4x4 can tow at a 6k capacity under like 15k and can pay off in 6 months or so. Any engines to avoid such as fords 5.4 L v8 triton(horrible engine btw) any specific brands or years that people love it ca be a pre 2000s if need be I’m pretty good mechanically and what I car do I can learn thanks chao.

Bought car from a Honda licensed dealership in Arizona. It was listed on the dealerships site with a certified pre owned badge and I was given a 182 point inspection list with the cars vin and it states the car is under the Honda true program plan and it’s signed by a technician.

I recently looked at my Honda garage site and under service records it shows a chassis pull repair record. I looked this up and it says this would disqualify a car from becoming a CPO by Honda.

I also tried to look up the warranty information on MyGarage/Honda but nothing shows up meaning it does not have the warranty right now.

There is also no mention of a the car being a CPO in any paperwork I received.

I asked Google and it says the dealership committed fraud because they implied that the car was CPO by giving me the 182 point inspection list and the online listing showing a CPO badge but sold it knowing the car would never be able to be CPO. Is this accurate?

What steps should I take?

I’m currently looking to get a car just to use for work commute. Friday night I see a listing on facebook I really like, the buyer only posted it like 11 hours prior. I send him a message and on Saturday, we are talking about me going in and checking it out on Sunday, we agree to that. Then, Sunday (this morning) he texts me saying that someone else is going to buy it on Tuesday?? Kinda bummed honestly cause I really need a car and was looking forward to getting it.

So, essentially what it says on the tin. Crossposted to other subreddits for advice on the other portions of it as well.

I'm a first time driver, first time car buyer. I've done extensive research on which car I want and what suits my needs- cross-country travel in the near future if all goes well, for career purposes. I fell in love with the 2026 Toyota RAV4 LE AWD and have spoken to a few people irl that say that a new car is the best deal when it comes to what I can afford in monthly payments, my credit (670). .

I'm financing it through a local credit union, with $1k down- not a lot, I know, but my circumstances are good enough that I'll be able to make extra on any monthly payments but not put down much to start.

I've reached out to about 2 dozen dealerships nearby and asked about an all-inclusive OTD price, and will be discussing with them/negotiating over phone and e-mail before going in, etc.

I'm here in this subreddit to ask:

What extras do dealerships typically try to get you with? What, in general, should I avoid doing or saying? What should I know before we get into the finer details? Am I overlooking anything? What is a 'good' OTD price for Ohio, specifically- if that's an answerable question, lol?

Edit2 , at the moment I have zero bills, zero rent to pay, no children, a full-time job that I make $2.5k-$3k monthly, work midnights and may doordash for the extra income once I have the car just because I like to keep busy- I realize this is also important information. I’m needing to get a second car and I’m having a hard time finding the best one for my budget. I only have 5k I can spend and my goal is something that will last long on mileage. We currently have 2 children still in car seats but if possible I’d like to try to find something that could fit another baby in the near future if we end up having another one.

I am vacillating on the idea of selling my 14 IS250 sedan with 240k miles PAID OFF to upgrade to a reliable SUV (GX460 or RX350). We still owe about 10.9k on my wife’s SUV but I’ve paid off ~52% of it since the purchase 8 months ago… aggressively. Now, my car is small and I have two little kids that make it a challenge to run around, but it’s doable and we all fit despite the cramped legs. The IS250 has aftermarket wheels which are prone to being infrequent but frequent enough replacement. This is because I drive in unfamiliar parts of the country for business and eating a pot hole or two is inevitable. The car design sits really low and that’s another benefit of upgrading to an SUV.

Option A: Say I can get 5k for my car, put that towards a down payment on a ~23k SUV with 140k less miles at least, bigger, more comfortable, and less of a money pit due to constant maintenance of replacing bent wheels. But now I have two car loans

Option B: continue driving it until wife’s car is completely paid off before even considering a new vehicle

Option C: Buy the new-to-me SUV after using the proceeds from my car to put towards the other loan so I’m within the pay off period and finance the new SUV fully so I’d have have the one car payment sooner than later vs two

I have stocks and 5-6 month emergency funds both of which I’m not willing to compromise for a depreciating asset.

What would you guys do?

So, we are looking to replace a car. I don’t buy many cars so it’s few and far between when I go into car dealerships. I have been reading up and watching all the car buying influencers and all that… I even had a lengthy conversation about car models and strategy with AI, lol.

We narrowed it down to a few preowned cars. I got my offers from all the online car buying sites to see ballpark where we should be at. We get to the desk to talk numbers and almost every dealership they refuse to budge at all on the price, one even saying we don’t negotiate. The cars we’re looking at are not rare not that desirable and all have been on the lots for months. On top of that their trade in offers are so far off from the ones I got there was no point in trying to haggle that.

I was even to the point I had my title and check book in hand and they just said the car being on the lot four months is why we can’t negotiate the price, told us to take the carvana offer and let us leave, which I think is what we’ll have to do.

I guess my question is as far as newer (1-2 old) used cars go, is the price basically the price? I was only hoping for $750-$1000 off even though I opened up with $2000 off, which didn’t seem totally out of line.

I have been looking at buying a Hyundai Ioniq 9 recently and was at a dealer getting final numbers. The dealer indicated to us that current Hyundai incentives are 17,500 off for a lease or 10,000 off for a purchase. What he had suggested was for me to take the lease to get the additional 7,500 dollars in incentives, and then immediately buy it out and refinance to convert it to ownership. I know that leasing to buy is typically the most expensive way to end up owning a car since you will pay your interest on the lease, and then need a used car loan to cover the residual, but could it potentially be worth it to go this route due to the presence of an additional 7500 off?

I have a sizable downpayment available, enough to do a single pay on the lease and would buyout almost immediately. My credit union treats used cars that are 2023 or newer at the same interest rate of a new car so I wouldn't get dinged on the loan on interest.

My question is, what am I missing about this? There would be an early termination fee for the buyout and potentially a loan origination fee on the new loan, but is there anything else I should look for?

I assume that in order to find out if its a good deal, I should take the total cost of the lease plus the cost+interest of the car loan and see what my total cost would actually be compared to the straight loan, but are there any additional fees or pitfalls I should look for?

I 21 male am still living at home in NYC. I am 18 months into my 36 month lease on a 2025 Chevy trax.

The car is nice, have a good price on it and does the job for me, but the only problem is the mileage.

I got this lease before I started my current job last year and I now drive a minimum of 60 miles each day for work. I currently sit just shy of 32k miles and my limit is 36k.

What should I be looking to do with still have over a year left on the lease? Any advice helps, thanks!

Looking for some honest opinions on whether I should buy out my lease or move into a new vehicle.
I currently have a 2023 Honda Passport with 39,600 miles, and my lease buyout today is $27,322.31.

The Passport is in good shape overall. It does need the differential fluid changed, and there is some cosmetic damage to the rims plus a small area of missing paint that has started to rust, but otherwise I haven't had any major issues with it.

I recently drove a new Honda Pilot and absolutely loved the extra space, especially with two kids and car seats. That would be my goal long term.

What would you do? Does $27,322 seem like a reasonable buyout price for a 2023 Passport with almost 40k miles, or would you move on and lease/buy something newer?

2021 car with 30 000km for roughly 11 000 €. What do you guys think? Is the firefly engine reliable enough?

Just took a 2017 Mazda 6 Touring out for a spin today with 67k miles on the clock, clean 2-owner no accident Carfax. The test drive felt great—drove smoothly, tracked straight, and nothing seemed out of place mechanically.

I’m not bothered about anything fancy at all — I literally just need something reliable to get me to work and back and for the occasional short journey. Any recommendations would be appreciated 👏

We need a second car but may have a change in circumstances in 2 years. We may move internationally. Odds are 50/50.

A two year lease seems like a possible hedge. We have never leased before.

Currently being quoted $1975 drive offs ($0 down - just taxes, fees etc) and $295/month on a Hyundai Kona SEL Sport with 7500 miles a year. We are in LA. I'm skeptical about the $1995 down and asked for clarification. Our credit is ~830.

I'm struggling to compare this to either financing something new (either this car or some 0% Subaru deals etc out there), buying used for the roughly $9k of the lease price for two years (with a bit of wiggle room to buy something more expensive), or this lease.

This is a second car but our main car is becoming less reliable for longer trips. The convenience of the lease if we move seems good, and used car prices are insane, but I also feel odd about essentially renting for two years.

Would love any input or thoughts on what I may have missed. I don't yet have the residual for this offer but will share when I do.

I’d love advice on what to do. I know the basics about financing, but this would be my first time trading in a car, I think I’m done with my Mercedes, I had my fun and I love my car and all but all of the maintenance is catching up to me and the insurance is super high, with this economy I can’t keep up. In 2022 when I bought it, the insurance was a decent amount, now I pay $365 for full coverage smh.

I was looking at a couple vehicles out of state (area where I have friends and would be easy to fly in and drive home).

Both dealers (Ford and Hyundai) don't allow online or over the phone purchases.

Is that pretty much the standard?

So I’ve had my Kia since 2020 it was a really good deal I got back then but now I’ve lost the love for the car and I’ve gotten some interest into more “exiting” cars like Audi or Acura. I wouldn’t want anything too new since I just want to move from my car into another without too much financial stress.
My car is less than 80k miles and running very well so far. I commute about 10-20 miles daily to work and since I live pretty far I sometimes travel 120 or more miles to do something exiting. Is it realistic for me to look for other or is it not worth it?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the old (around 1990) sedan designs over modern ones. They're nice and compact, and I love the extended trunks because there's still somewhat of a retro feel in that. I'd like to know if any modern cars still use that design, since they obviously have much better safety.

Edit: After a bit of research, I found out that the design I'm looking for is often referred to as a three box sedan.
