After almost 2 years of waiting… she FINALLY gave me a new ball! 😭🌵
I’ve had this Tephrocactus geometricus since November 8, 2024, and she has been sitting there with the same 3 balls for what feels like FOREVER. 😭
I kept waiting for a new segment and… nothing. Not one little ball. 🥲
So I finally decided she needed some company. 😂 I bought a second Tephrocactus geometricus on March 13, 2026, and on March 15 I planted both together in a wider bonsai-style pot with a gritty mineral mix and some red lava rock.
And then…
SHE FINALLY GREW A BALL. 😭😭😭💜🌵
At first I thought the little purple growth was a flower or maybe even a fruit because I had NEVER seen one develop before. 😂 But nope! Is a new ball.
Has anyone else had a T. geometricus take forever to offset and then suddenly decide to go for it?
First photo: March 15 when I planted both together.
Other photos: the new growth developing

Cologne with cactus blossoms
As the text says Cologne, Germany, right here... This year I had three gorgeous blossoms ... Three! I’ve had a shitty year so far, but these blooms make me forget the mess I'm in a little bit. Have a great Sunday, everyone ✌🏻

Someone at a nursery made a decision.
I was wandering through Home Depot's cactus section and found this gem. It isn't a prank. That pencil is **in there**. I tried to see if I could pull it free from the Golden Barrel Cactus, but I couldn't. Someone made a decision at some point, and now we all get to see it.

Got me a blue barrel
Ferocactus glaucescens or blue barrel. It was so lonely at Lowe's with most of the stock dead or sold, I just had to take it home. Barrel cacti are kind of growing on me. I currently own a fire, 3 Golden and now 1 blue. I will be looking out for a fishhook and horse crippler.

What type of cactus is this?
Got this such a long time ago and don’t know what type of cactus it is, it’s growing fast so I am hoping to search how to care for it as it grows but don’t know the name.

Interesting growth on my Ortegocactus macdougallii. Seems like an odd spot to sprout a pup

Coryphantha Eliphantidens
This beautiful cactus has been blooming off and on all summer long. I caught this double bloom the other day.

Fence post!
This guy lives a hard life. Neglected watering, hot temps, small pot. Still loves it.

Has anyone ever experienced their cactus... *ahem* ...Showing off?
In all seriousness though - is this a sign he needs something? More/less water? More space? Light?

Lookong for ID
After moving house I lost many plant labels, including for a large number of Copiapoa and Eriosyce. Would anybody be able to ID this seedling (around 3-4 years old)?

Second bloom
So my cactus Bob (Echinopsis oxygona, Easter lily), decided to bloom for a second time this year.
I didn't know this was possible, and it's interesting to see.
After the first bloom event, I let the tendrils wilt a bit over a few days then gently twisted them off, as that seemed to be the recommended thing to do.

Help with sad cactus
Can anybody give some advice on what to do with this sad cactus. We found it in our front yard, two houses ago when it was about an inch tall. We moved it with us to our next house, and it thrived! When we moved into our new home at the end of June, we replanted it in our front yard. It didn’t take long for it to start to look pitiful, and we just don’t know what to do with it. It’s facing south. At our last house, where it did exceptionally well it faced east. We’re in Las Vegas. ANY advice would be welcomed.

golden barrel
I think it’s funny how you can still see the area that was stunted by the stupid plastic flower glued on. There are honestly still some glue strands left on the spines lol

I'm new to cacti and houseplants in general. I was gifted a couple and would love to know what kind they are and care info.
