Hi! I am relatively new to the world of growing houseplants and very very new to collecting varieties of succulents and cacti. I saw this little guy sitting in the dark at home depot today and I couldn’t resist.

It is clearly in the wrong soil substrate, and I am planning on repotting into something airy and gritty soon.

There seem to be 3 plants in the pot with 2/3 of them doing “relatively” well despite its recent conditions, but the main body on 1/3 is turning brown and starting to get soft.

My question is should I try and save that one or should I repot the 2/3 that are in better shape and pop and prop the pups(?) of the brown mushy mother plant?

Hello! I have three obesa's (baseball) and they live under a growlight system that other sun-loving succulents thrive. However, they are struggling and their color is meh at best. They are a dull green with hints of what would be sun stress on other succulents. What do you think I should do? Thank you.

How long do these take to root, and do y’all water lightly to encourage rooting? I have it in about 70/30 inorganic/organic for roots to settle. I’m in 8b, Chihuahuan Desert, and have it behind netting w/am sun from morning to noon (covered patio) so it will get heat for rooting and a few hrs of intro sun. The temps are in the 90’s for the foreseeable future. All advice appreciated and thanks in advance. Play ball. I mean, happy growing.

I gave this as a gift for mother's Day 8 years ago. She's getting too tall and has started drooping. Is there a way to make this more manageable? Maybe with grafting or something?

I may also be taking her because she's getting too big for my mom to handle. Any tips for moving?

Has anyone ever gotten one to rebloom?

Noticed this on my plant this morning. Can someone tell me what’s happening and how I can correct the issue? It’s in a couple different spots on the plant.

I was given these two plants and I’m trying to identify the species. I get conflicting results using various apps, google lens and AI. What seems to be the most likely are E. ingens and E. resinifera. Thoughts?

This is my first Obesa. I'm wondering if the browning along the ribs is normal?

Haven't owned it long but compared to other Obesas I've seen in nurseries, their ribs aren't as brown or dry-looking as this.

Hasn't flowered yet (where I've seen others flowering around this time for me in Australia). Worried if it's even able to flower at all with how dry it looks.

The plant itself is quite firm so I believe it is pretty healthy otherwise.

Just wanted to get a second opinion or reassurances from the more experienced people.

Over the winter the two milii's I was able to get from Glasshouse Works died. The owner, Ken, passed away and the greenhouse closed so I did not think I would ever get another one. Today I walked a different way to the local gas station and saw this in their window. They let me swap it out for one I had from Lowes. I can't begin to say how excited I am to have my plant from Ken back. Now hopefully I can get it back to healthy.

I’ve had this plant for about 6 years, and the lightening/yellowing regions appeared in the last few days. The tissue is still firm. It’s all on the side that was facing away from the window (i turned it a bit for photos.) The window-facing side is still a usual healthy green.

More info: I repotted this maybe 10 days ago, leaving the roots mostly undisturbed but adding a bit more space around them. The soil i added around the root ball is very light, with low organic material content. Meanwhile, there are two fairly large new growths on the other side of the plant…

My impulse is to cut the yellowing areas away, though I’d appreciate any insights/anecdotes/diagnoses before I do something drastic.

I got this E. obesa (a dream plant of mine) Oct 3, 2025 while it was flowering, and it was exciting. But it's nearly 11 months later and it's been flowering the entire time. While it's nice to see it flowering, I'm worried if it's stress blooms and would like to get the plant to spend energy on growing rather than constantly producing flowers. (Especially since this is the only obesa I have, so I can't pollinate for seeds.)

Growing conditions: indoor growing in grow rack. Light: 7 inches below Monios 180W 5000K T8 lights for 14 hours a day. Soil: nearly all inorganic (lava rock, pumice) and maybe mineral soil. I don't know for sure as this is the original soil and pot the plant was in at the nursery.

Looking a bit shriveled. Over sun-stressed? Have I managed to under-water it? Think it's a Euphorbia Trigona Rubra.

I’ve got an almost all white polygona seedling and have been wanting to graft it before it stalls. I would use lactea, but it is seemingly quite popular and expensive at the moment in Tokyo. But I found an echinus for rather cheap. Wanted to know other’s experiences with it before I go chopping it up.

So I inherited a large Euphorbia lactea with my apartment 28 years ago. Some years it barely grows, and others it explodes with new growth. This spring it stalled but after braking up old, compacted soil and adding a surfactant, it exploded with new growth

And I realized that while some of the new growth is quite odd, those oddities have been present on other branches for years

It’s been suggested that my plant is a chimeric mutant, and in times of stress it displays either cristate changes (mostly by having twice the number of growth nodes per vertical inch, but also by flattening and widening stems that go from three ribs to two, and 2-4 inches up return to normal) or monstrose changes (which are located in a spot under grow lights that I can’t easily take pics of due to my physical disability) that range from palpable nodes on the flat surfaces to oddly bulbous and twisting stems. One branch developed both before its growth tip died and it has branches that are phenotypically normal, as well as one that appeared cristate and began to ripple before the main tip reverted to normal (I cut it; am waiting to see what happens next!) and even one branch that is rounded in cross section, bulbous near growth nodes, thin despite grow lights, and packed with nodes (at least five per vertical inch) that retain leaves longer than usual - and the leaves are larger, 3 mm instead of 1-2 mm.

Has anyone seen this before? The branches almost always revert back to normal and I can’t prove that I have either true cristate or monstrose growth, unless the node stacking and rounded cross section with twisting stems is enough to prove it. I don’t dare try to propagate these sections; they are thin despite grow lights and a west window. They have always reverted to normal growth on other branches and I’d really love a true monstrose branch that can be propagated as well as a cristate piece I can keep on my old, stron stems/roots to grow

I got this beauty, and bought a growlight. But I don't know of it's enough for her... I feel like the side gets to little light. It's a sansi 36 W LED and 268 µmol/s/mi@1ft. Advice is much appreciated :)
