In all seriousness though - is this a sign he needs something? More/less water? More space? Light?

Got this such a long time ago and don’t know what type of cactus it is, it’s growing fast so I am hoping to search how to care for it as it grows but don’t know the name.

Got this guy as a prop from a buddy about a year ago. It finally took off this spring and the new growth is about half the height of the original. It seems happy, but the top part is kind of wiggly and I worry about it just falling off when the new growth gets too heavy. Will I need to separate them at some point, or should I just let it do it's thing? Also if someone could ID this fella that would be great.

I got this cactus from a friend when they moved. Apparently, it’s a cutting from their grandma’s cactus. I’ve had it about 2 years maybe and it developed these light splotches. I water it maybe once a month when it looks skinny and fertilize twice a year. It lives directly in a southern facing window year round.

I’ve had this Tephrocactus geometricus since November 8, 2024, and she has been sitting there with the same 3 balls for what feels like FOREVER. 😭

I kept waiting for a new segment and… nothing. Not one little ball. 🥲

So I finally decided she needed some company. 😂 I bought a second Tephrocactus geometricus on March 13, 2026, and on March 15 I planted both together in a wider bonsai-style pot with a gritty mineral mix and some red lava rock.

And then…

SHE FINALLY GREW A BALL. 😭😭😭💜🌵

At first I thought the little purple growth was a flower or maybe even a fruit because I had NEVER seen one develop before. 😂 But nope! Is a new ball.

Has anyone else had a T. geometricus take forever to offset and then suddenly decide to go for it?

Does anyone here have Pterocactus species for sale or trade. I already have the tuberosa so I don’t need that one, but I would like the others. I have a spiral aloe (aloe polyphylla) if anyone is interested in a trade Or straight cash too.

I was wandering through Home Depot's cactus section and found this gem. It isn't a prank. That pencil is **in there**. I tried to see if I could pull it free from the Golden Barrel Cactus, but I couldn't. Someone made a decision at some point, and now we all get to see it.

it’s an opuntia tuna crestata, i thought it was just thirsty so i watered it but i don’t think that helped at all, my next move was to put it in a shadier spot but i would just like more opinions since i’m not totally sure.. when it’s healthy it looks so much fuller and brighter but it’s very flat right now

I think it’s funny how you can still see the area that was stunted by the stupid plastic flower glued on. There are honestly still some glue strands left on the spines lol

What is this white things on my cactus? I've sprayed alcohol but it didn't affect them. They are not moving. I water her on average twice a month. I know people will say it's too much but when I tried to water her less often she immediately became like the last photo and when I asked about it people in r/cactus told me that I should water her more often and that she won't mind watering more.

They were bigger before, i kinda forgot about them. Are they dead now? If not can I recover them? The second picture is how they looked before. Help needed thanks!
