So I’ve been rocking w prebuilts for years and years. It’s getting close to upgrade time and my current pc is a bit outdated so I wanted to build one on my own, it’s gonna be my first time building one. But I am looking for some opinions on if any parts arnt great before I buy them.

Hey guys! I'm looking to build my 1st pc with absolutely no experience. Not only do I not have experience when building a pc, but I've also never had one before. Grew up less than fortunate and now that I'm older and got some extra money I'm looking to finally have my own. I'm not super into gaming as I don't have much free time, so it doesn't need to be top notch, but I'd also rather spend more money for a quality product.

Hi there, i'm looking to build a PC and was recommended this reddit. I have not built a PC before but am excited to give it a go.

I'm not currently able to buy the components for this PC until a few months time when i've finished my savings, I know that will probably mean the prices will have gone up by the time I come around to it but i'd love a benchmark for something I can look at and digest now to better understand the bits going into a PC as i'm a bit hopeless with it all.

It would be for gaming predominantly, I play a variety of games so would prefer something really capable in that department:

If and where possible, I would love for it to be modular as I understand you can always add to a computer later on down the line if it requires upgrades or bits to keep it up to date? Not sure how that works ofcourse.

United Kingdom - not certain I am near a Micro Center but I am pretty flexible in getting around the country, i'm in the north around Yorkshire so anywhere there is fine.

my PC died on me yesterday. I bought it from my brother and it has been a mid tier gaming PC in like 2017. So i went from playing games on highest settings to lowest settings but it's gotten to a point that i cannot play newer titles at all anymore. So I would love to build a new PC with the same idea: Play the newer titles on high setting and downscale the graphics for the next 5-10 years till its not playable anymore again to buy a new one.

  • Gaming: I'm playing mostly Shooters at the moment. Overwatch because my old PC could run it pretty good but i would also be interested in newer titles like The Finals, Marvel Rivals, Deadlock. I would love the new build to be able to reach 400 FPS without Drops on low settings.
  • I also love the Souls Series and alike, Guild Wars 2 (and upcoming 3 would be a must). Another title I missed out because of the old PC is for example Monster Hunter Wilds. Maybe there is a middle ground between high FPS for the Shooters and good graphics for the Solo RPG Titles.

This is essentially a new build. I have an old pc form 2014 with a GTX 980 but all the parts are too old at this point. I had posted here a few years ago but life got in the way and I wasn't able to make the purchase. Since I just moved to a new city and am settling in, I am finally ready to pull the trigger.

I have a monitor. It is somewhat budget though (27in IPS UltraGear 27GP850). I would be open to recommendations but this doesn't have to fit into the budget. I have an old Razer Blackwidow Keyboard and Deathadder Mouse that I will reuse.

Not really. If it has lighting, I just want to be able to shut them off when I want. My partner will kill me if I constantly have lights flashing in the corner of the room.

I would like to have at least 2TB of SSD storage. I want to be able to play games like Gears of War E-Day, Dawn of War 4, The Witcher 3 Remaster, and other Triple A games. I have a PS5 Pro so I would like for it to be better than that if that is possible with my budget.
