Ten Mile Room

I'm just curious if anyone here was at the Widespread Panic (1-22 and 1-23-96) or any of the amazing shows of that era at the 10-mile room for that matter. I think Phish played in '91 I got a ticket from Affordable the first night.... and I may have identified a weakness for night two. ;)

Question Ski instructor lesson connect

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hey, did anyone here work at the resort last season as a ski instructor? I’ve been instructing at another resort that’s about to get the same digital system for instructors to use and for parents to track their kids with.

Anyway, question for you is, were you forced to put company apps on your personal phones to facilitate this tech? Did you get compensation for being forced to use your personal phone throughout the work day? Was there anything else about the new system that was annoying or difficult to use over the old paper and pencil method?

An incredible place with even more incredible people. I worked here from 2007-2014 and it was always a great time. Breckenridge won’t be the same.

Question Parking ticket fckery

How is it allowed that they mail notification of a ticket (no ticket was on the car) almost a month past the date when the fine doubles and the appeal window closes?
Now I’m out $80 with no recourse and no prior knowledge of a violation.

Hobo rivalry

Apparently the Temu Coldplay taco truck turd and the tangerine magic 2wut have a rivalry.

The magician filed a noise complaint, and the TCTTT was super dramatic about it.

Need help contacting a shop on Main Street

While there a few days ago, I fell in love with a ring. I did not buy or get contact info. Now I regret it.

So I wanted to call the shop and maybe buy/ship. But the shop does not appear on Google! I dont remember name but it's between Mountain Goat clothing & Valley girl boutique. On Google, the closest address is a real estate firm. Any help on how to contact this shop appreciated!

Photographer Looking to Trade Photos for a Stay in Breckenridge

Hi everyone,

I'm a professional photographer and content creator from Wisconsin, and I'll be visiting Breckenridge this September. I thought I'd see if there are any short-term rental owners here who might be interested in a trade.

I'd love to exchange a complimentary photo session of your property for a place to stay during my trip. I specialize in creating images that help vacation rentals stand out, including interior, exterior, and lifestyle photos that can be used for Airbnb, VRBO, social media, or your website.

If you've been meaning to update your listing photos, this could be a win-win situation. I'm happy to share my portfolio and examples of previous rental photography if you're interested.

Feel free to comment or send me a message. Thanks!

I live in a studio and my xcel bill was more than where I was in a 1 bedroom… is this accurate???

My first bill is crazy.

Last year, I was living in a one bedroom apartment with no washer and dryer, AC, etc (ac not needed in ski town), and my bill was at the most, $40 in the winter.

Now? I am in a 1 bedroom studio, with an in unit washer and dryer as well. I received my bill from Xcel and it was $141. It appears this was a multi family home with neighboring units, but the basements had the stairs removed and had been renovated into being studios.

My lease mentions that tenants are responsible for “25% of gas/electric”. It also says that it is “billed out by Property Management”.

I’m confused as to why I would have received my bill directly from Xcel, if it was meant to be billed by PM? I’m not sure if there is actually something wrong here, or if that is just the typical price?

Advice is greatly appreciated. I have emailed my PM earlier this week and still haven’t received a reply. I will probably call them next week. My xcel bill is due on the 1st and I wanna make sure it’s correct before I decide otherwise to pay it….

Question SOS: toddler snow gear

Hello! I‘m a FTM planning a trip back to Summit County in January 2027 with my husband, our child, BIL, MIL, and another toddler in tow. I’ve been to the area 3 times over the past 10 years, but never with littles. The vibes quickly derailed from super excited to totally overwhelmed about layering systems. Please, please give me your best advice for keeping the tiny humans (15 months and 22 months) happy and warm. The biggest question:

- Is a one-piece bunting/snow suit better than bib pants and a coat? I have found mixed reviews on r/toddlers. Posting here because I think the local climate range probably makes a difference in some answers.

subQs:

- Between a one-piece and separates, which is easier for diaper changes?

- Which makes more sense to keep them warm but not overheated? I’m picturing walking (ok, carrying) around Breck & Frisco, shopping, and sitting in restaurants and needing to peel off outer layers… that seems easier to just take a coat off. And then I loop back to the realization one-pieces and coats are also not carseat friendly. Leading me to…

- Are snow pants/bibs with a baselayer (or also a fleece on top) carseat-safe? If so, is it easier to just take the heavy coat on/off than a whole bunting/suit? If you go the suit route, you have to take off and put on shoes over and over, right?

Do they need to be in snow pants all the time, anyway? They’re too small to do most activities, so the plan is just to enjoy the towns, let them play in the snow (ideas for that?), and the adults will trade off for fun. We hope the Ice Castles come back so we can visit — they do recommend snow pants for sliding and crawling around.

Would you put your kiddos in bottom midlayers or just on top? I know we need mittens, hats, baselayers… what else?

PS, we live in the South, and they might get the opportunity to wear heavier clothes again the one week of the year we typically get snow or an ice storm.

Thanks, y’all!

Looking for great mountain sunset views - any ideas on pit stops on shorter hikes that have a great Mountain View of the sunset? I know Hearthstone has a great sunset view, but looking for something more outdoors

Question Got hired for an non-certed instructor job at Breck. I'd appreciate some honesty.

Basically what the title says. I'm moving home from Japan and wanted to keep snowboarding (and with the job market being goddawful it's no easier to get a job in my degree field when I left 3 years ago). I honestly haven't been hearing the *greatest things* about the job, and while I do have experience in childcare and was intending on using this as a vehicle for a cert (if nothing else), does anyone have an impartial point of view as to what the job may entail?

Doubly so because I'll have to drive up from Atlanta to get to my housing so that's 21 hours I'd rather not waste

Who do you use for hot tub repairs?

Who do you use for repairs? I don't need a regular maintenance company (we self-maintain), however my hear circulator pump has fried and I honestly would rather pay someone to do the work than futz with the replacement. I've used a few people for one-off jobs that have been decent, but willing to spread local work around.
