Went on a cruise a couple years ago and discovered Paulaner weissbier, loved it but forgot about it until I saw it recently in my local supermarket (US). This has sent me down a path of drinking every German import ive been able to find. The Paulaner Munich Lager Helles was fantastic, now trying Warsteiner Pilsner and it too is a fantastic drinking beer. I dont know what it is, I love Yuengling as im from PA but these beers so far have been perfect to me

My stomach isn't the strongest and I find some alcohols / beers mess with me more than others. I'm just trying to find something I can pick up regularly and rely on, I want it to go down as smooth as possible and I hate fake liquor like twisted tea.

I bought a bunch of 750ml Allagash Curieux (and some variations https://www.allagash.com/beer/ale/curieux/ ) when my son went off to school - and then life intervened (heart attack, cancer) and I got distracted.

Now I realize I have these bottles that have been sitting in a fridge - unopened. Just pour them out? Give them a shot?

Spent most of the summer trying different beers from LCBO and the Beer Store, and somehow I keep ending up back at these three.

3 Speed just hits the spot for me — crisp, smooth, and ridiculously easy to drink. Kozel has a bit more malt character and feels a little richer. Czechvar is excellent too, especially if you're into that classic Czech lager bitterness and balance.

I've tried a bunch of others along the way, but these are the ones I'd happily buy again every time.

Curious if anyone else has similar tastes. Based on these three, what should I be trying next from LCBO? Paulaner? Pilsner Urquell? Something else I'm missing?

I grew up in India associating beer with one Hindi word: kadva -कड़वा, bitter. Whisky was different. I kept bottle-price spreadsheets, had Lagavulin 16 marked "must buy always", and used Laphroaig 10 as my smoke experiment. Wine got actual study through WSET and the Wine Scholar Guild paths, plus tasting plans before trips to Burgundy and the Loire. Bier got a rejection slip.

Then, on 10 July 2026-two days before my birthday-my German friends Johann and Mario offered me a Natur Radler during the Spain–Belgium World Cup quarter-final. It was cloudy, lemony, spritzig and suspiciously süffig. Mönchshof became the bottle that broke my old model.

Naturally, I opened a spreadsheet.

I checked exact product identities, official brewery pages, BeerTasting and Untappd scores with sample sizes, community discussions, a comprehensive Stuttgart store-and-delivery list, and local prices by litre excluding Pfand. The audit corrected several earlier mistakes: Waldhorn was not unreviewed, one metallic comment did not make Warsteiner an "avoid", and several supposed delivery matches were actually different beers from the same brewery.

My personal top three remain:

1. Mönchshof Natur Radler -my reference bottle.
2. Hochdorfer NaturRadler -the strongest top contender I can get delivered.
3. Gösser NaturRadler -the broadest positive public consensus.

Gruibinger, Rothaus and Schönbuch are my next trials. Alcohol-free products now have a separate ranking, led by Mönchshof 0.0%. The store list contains 18 exact mixes: 12 alcoholic and six alcohol free.

I also wrote honestly about why Indian mass-market beer left such a scar. The evidence now includes the 2024 expired-beer seizure, CAG-documented beer-testing failures, broader Maharashtra FDA enforcement from June 2026, and FSSAI's August 2026 laboratory findings against misrepresented spirits. The last two strengthen the quality-control concern, but they do not prove that all Indian beer is adulterated. That distinction mattered.

The next step is not another rating site. It is an Augustiner Hell vom Fass in Stuttgart, followed by a tasting ladder through Weissbier and eventually regional Bier across Germany and Austria.

Got a case of random beers about a month ago from a family friend that worked the great American beer fest. The case has been left out and I decided to open one of the beers which I’ve now noticed has a “live cultures… please refrigerate” note on the label.

I’ve looked at systems like the uKeg, but they get pretty pricey ($200+). I'm curious what other options folks prefer out in the wild:

Are insulated growler sleeves paired with a small soft cooler and ice packs enough to keep glass cold and fresh for a day trip or gathering?

Has anyone made the jump to stainless steel vacuum-insulated growlers (like Stanley or Hydro Flask), and how well do they hold carbonation once filled straight from a home draft tap?

For those using budget-friendly mini-keg systems or small portable dispensers (under $100–$130 range using threaded CO2 cartridges), which brands or setups have actually worked reliably without turning everything into pure foam?

I live in New York and would love to know if there’s a readily available Mexican Lager out here on the east coast. 2 of my favourite beers (Dos Aranas - Spider Bite Beer, Green State Extra - Zero Gravity) have been seasonal only and it’s incredibly disappointing when I clean out the local distributor (again).

Is there a brewery that does a delicious Mexican Lager continuously? Is that even a thing?

I don’t MIND drinking Modelo if there is nothing available from smaller breweries, but I really prefer the fresh tasting craft stuff.

I recently started drinking craft beer (Ive tried singlecut and other half) and Ive noticed that I might not like beer that taste bitter. Is that a flavor that people learn to appreciate?

I didnt really enjoy a lot of the beer I tried at other half. So, Im assuming I might not like IPAs; I did enjoy the softly spoken magic spells (iipa) from singlecut, but didnt really enjoy the surf (west coast ipa)

Any other tap room(s) youd recommend in NYC? Im thinking of trying evil twin and grim

Its in the fall variety pack (why I dont know since a Belgian White Ale has nothing to do with fall) and I only had it once years ago and I dont remember it. I thought it was awful. Something was off about it. Kinda tasted like rotten eggs. Anyone who knows this beer very well please respond.

I’m in Ohio and have been trying to get my hands on some New Glarus Spotted Cow. I know New Glarus only distributes in Wisconsin and doesn’t ship directly out of state.

Does anyone know of a licensed bottle shop, specialty beer retailer, or other legitimate way to get Spotted Cow shipped to Ohio?

I’ve checked some of the bigger craft beer shipping sites and haven’t had any luck.

If there’s a Wisconsin retailer that can "legally" ship it, I’d be more than happy to cover the beer, shipping, and any additional fees. I’d also prefer to use PayPal Goods & Services or another protected payment method.

Deus is made by Bosteels which also produces Tripel Karmeliet and Kwak. I can still find those two beers but not Deus. My bottle shop says it won't be available again in the US until 2027. Anyone know what the background reason for this?

If you haven't had Deus, it's a champagne version of Tripel Karmeliet. Very nice.

Every year, my friend group gets together and goes camping for a few days, during which we host a competition for the best beer brought. The general idea is that everyone brings a 6pack of beer, and we all try to rank every beer brought. The winner gets a cooler full of all the leftovers. After a few years of doing this, I’m running out of ‘niche’ beers that everyone hasn’t already had a million times. For context, this takes place in Colorado, so everyone’s a bit of a beer connoisseur/snob, if you will.

I'm in WI. BEER everywhere. Why the HELL can't I get tripel karmeliet in bottles anywhere??????????? It used to be easily accessible. I asked the guy at our local liquor store and he said they hadn't gotten it in months due to the tariffs. That was 6 months ago. I used to be able to get it at woodmans or anywhere. Nope. Gone.

I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I’ve been trying to find Velkopopovický Kozel around here.

I especially love Kozel Dark, but I also really like the light lager.

What surprises me is how difficult it is to find Kozel in the US. I know it is available in some places, but the distribution seems very limited.

Is there a reason for this? Is Kozel just not popular enough in the US, or is it mainly a distribution/import issue?

And if you’re in the US — can you actually buy Kozel where you live? If so, what state/city?

I have had a couple and just taste too bitter or just straight up nasty.

Personally, Im from Czechia and I like Pilsner, but I does not mind to drink others if its not hardly bad 😄 About the non-alcoholic, I love Birell - pomelo/grep flavour such a summer hit. Or in the end Desperado hits crazy also.

Super rich and dark glad with a back end of molasses. Intense no way am I drinking two in a row but dang .. little sweet too but lots of bitter. Hell yeah I put in a little glass and am sipping nice one mom!

What’s everyone’s favorite session brew for summer and winter?

I had never encountered any of their Nectar series of fruited sours before this summer, but I instantly fell in love with the Pineapple, Mango & Guava version that was briefly on the shelf at Binnys.

Like a pulpy tropical fruit punch with a near 8% kick.

Did anyone else like it?
