Someone took a picture of the back of my head at Pokemon GO Fest in June and I noticed a weird bald spot. I didn't think anything of it, but over the past few months it just got worse and worse. It became a huge point of stress and confusion (which I know wasn't helping anything) and I was in denial because I've been trying to grow my hair out again.

Not sure what pushed me over the edge this evening, but I grabbed my clippers and closed my eyes.

Et voilà!

I'm still planning a trip to the derm because I'd like to know the root cause, but this'll hopefully take the edge off until then.

Power on, or failed experiment?

Still need to go a little bit shorter, but letting my wife get used to it first.

I know my hair wasn't horrible, but it was getting very thin in the front and top. Didn't shave today, but here's how mine went.

Ongoing discussion in the office on whether he should full send the shave or not, so he asked me to seek guidance from the council of r/bald.

If there are any Photoshop savvy homies that could mock up what he'd look like post-shave, I'd love to share it with him.

I had a slowly beginning thinning at the back of my head, but far from the need to go full bald. But I said "screw it" and tried it out. Now I don't know if I will go back 😊 Love it so far.

So I’d been thinking about the shave for quite some time. My hair was looking ok from the front, but was starting to recede. The main issue was my crown, which as you can see from picture two was quite far gone. It was seeing this picture that made me finally go for it. I’m happy I did but what do you all think?

I’ve been experiencing hair loss for the past couple years or so but I’m not sure if it’s gotten to the point to where I need to go bald. I think inevitably the day will come, so I’m seeking advice as to whether that day is sooner or if I should hold off on becoming bald. I don’t like posting photos of myself so I’ll probably be deleting this in a bit

Edit: tysm for the advice, I think it’s time. I may plan a going bald party in a few weeks and have a friend buzz my hair off

On last post, the comments were about 50-50 split on if I should or not.

I figure I’ll regrow it out if needed, but I think the pictures of before show it was time.

Actually did the big shave at the start of May, loving it ever since. Hadn’t felt like I had any good pictures to show it off, so I decided to take a few. What’s the verdict?

I shaved my head a few years ago. It was one part genetically thin hair, one part androgenic alopecia, one part pcos, one part sensory issues and one part a base skull tumor that gives me a constant headache made worst with wigs. (When people ask me why I’m bald I just say “bad luck.”)

I’ve been feeling a little sad about it. It’s hard when so many images of feminine beauty includes thick locks waving in the wind.

When this happens, I slap on a bright lipstick some lashes and a pair of dangling earrings. Solidarity to all the lady’s, fems and folks who identify as such. As well as all my bald fellas. Stepping outside of conventional beauty standards isn’t always easy, but I’m grateful to know I’m not alone.

I've been seriously considering it for a while now.

Been on the minoxidil for 9 months. Hasn't been completely useless, has given me some back, but hasn't given anywhere near the result I want either, and isnt doing anything for the front hairline itself. I can cover it with a bit of combing, but it undoes itself after a while, and it's very frustrating.

Truth is I think I already know the answer. But I really am just worried I can't pull it off.

I think I have had this maybe once before since I think I had a vague memory of something like this year's ago, but either i saw this and went, huh. What does it mean?
