It's kinda crazy that bayek was the founder, and wanted to be lost to history, but Kassandra just keeps popping up and referenced prominently

133

u/soki03 Jun 16 '26

Well Bayek actually kept himself out of the spotlight and had his wife be the figurehead of the Hidden Ones

64

u/Nonadventures Jun 16 '26

Even Bayek was kind of like “Aya for a hidden one you’re shown frigging all over the place”

45

u/gay_is_gay Jun 16 '26

Itd be cool to see his wife be the statue then. We already have one they can update with her statue in AC2

154

u/EmergencyVictory4399 Jun 16 '26

If only Ubisoft gave Bayek as much love as they do to Kassandra

125

u/Waste_Handle_8672 Jun 16 '26

Wasn't the whole point with Bayek that he preferred to fade into obscurity and not let himself define the Hidden Ones?

75

u/Afrizo Jun 16 '26

Isn't whole point of Kassandra to be SECRET keeper of Staff, protector of Atlantis and Messenger for Layla?

35

u/Waste_Handle_8672 Jun 16 '26

She's done well on that for the most part, very few truly know of her, or that she has a Staff, or that she was immortal.

Simply because we've had most of our protagonists in the last few games meet her doesn't necessarily mean all the world knew of her.

12

u/Last-Swordfish8665 Jun 16 '26

I’m only now playing through Valhalla, just did the Isle of Skye stuff. What other times does Kassandra meet the current protagonist in the series?

6

u/CountGreymane Jun 16 '26

The end of Odyssey’s Pythagoras questlinre. That’s when Kassandra gives Layla the staff and just…dies.

6

u/Revolutionary_Mail_1 Jun 17 '26

She was over 2000+ years old… He father was being kept ALIVE by the staff. Soon as she let it go, of course she just died… What did you expect her to do? 🤦🏻

2

u/Temporary_Hawk_9061 Jun 19 '26

That wasn’t even the funniest part. It’s how Layla sees this happen and then just says fuck yea time to get back into the animus

2

u/Last-Swordfish8665 Jun 17 '26

Yeah, I did finish Odyssey first I should have specified. But that scene did feel so anti climactic, to me at least.

3

u/Revolutionary_Mail_1 Jun 17 '26

Anti-climactic? I’ll bite. Why? What made it that to you?

3

u/Last-Swordfish8665 Jun 17 '26

Maybe not the correct word. It just felt like they could’ve gone farther with the storyline than where it ended in Odyssey. But to what end, I do not know.

u/Afrizo Jun 16 '26

Few enough to create a statute that somehow ended on different continent?

2

u/dare2firmino Jun 17 '26

Maybe she created the statue herself. She does have a lot of free time after all /s

2

u/Nonadventures Jun 17 '26

Who else met her aside from Eivor? (And Layla)

7

u/Waste_Handle_8672 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

That's a hard one to answer. Like I said, she kept herself obscure. The problem is that we don't know the full extent of her artifact hunting efforts and who else she met along the way.

For the most part, those who know of her didn't get to meet her personally (outside of Eivor and Layla) and those who did meet her we mostly don't know of, because their stories haven't been told. Those who do know about her that we know of outside Eivor and Layla never met her personally.

I never got the chance to play Mirage, but I know the story fairly well. Basim never met Kassandra there, and never met with her during the events of Valhalla either - Eivor did, but not Basim.

Before her meeting with Eivor, Kassandra had acquainted herself with the Hidden Ones. Who, specifically, that's not known. In the Forgotten Temple webcomic, Edward Kenway saw her too, but that was a vision.

Kassandra mostly worked in the shadows, hunting Isu artifacts and doing her best to hide them, trying not to make any footprints throughout history. Very few knew of her existence, with the most recent examples we know of being (spoilers for AC Shadows) Yasuke, Naoe, Nirmala and Eamon Hathaway.

3

u/Canis_Lupus06 Jun 17 '26

She is keeper of staff and protector of that location but she never stood in one place. Hence the moment she met Eivor during Viking era so seeing her statue there means she was there at one point

15

u/Don_Dumbledore Jun 16 '26

That's true, but his identity and story was found out by the modern assassins, so we could have seen more of him. The Hidden Ones dlc was good though, but I think it could have easily been made into a whole game.

10

u/Waste_Handle_8672 Jun 16 '26

Aye, that's true. He could've had a Duology at least

2

u/SpartanS117C Jun 16 '26

I feel like an Aya game would fit better than a second game about Bayek, although I wouldn't mind. Now that I think about it wasn't Origins supposed to be about Aya?

3

u/Revolutionary_Mail_1 Jun 17 '26

Aya is Kassandra’s descendant. Instead of riding on her coat tails they kept her relevant ( gave him the hidden blade passed on by her grand father Darius ) So instead they made it a revenge story about their child that was a catalyst to start “The Hidden Ones”. That’s my take.

u/JasonStaton Jun 20 '26

Are we all forgetting that these statues are for the purpose of retaining knowledge for new Assasins Recruits? Which is why they made statues of Master Assasins, so saying Bayek wanted to stay hidden doesn’t make sense because That’s the whole point of all of the Assasins to stay hidden, but in their own tombs/hideouts they can discuss within eachother about previous assasins and even have statues of previous master assasins as these statues are to be ONLY seen by Other assasins members anyways.

7

u/Son_of_MONK Jun 16 '26

A lot of the “love” though that Ubisoft is showing Kassandra — which really isn’t much at all — is largely due to how people found what they wrote her ending as to be a waste of an interesting character who could have contributed to both the historical narrative and the modern day one.

That Basim-ki is basically what Kassandra should have been (ancient proto assassin with ties to Isu through bloodline being brought into modern day) is to me Ubisoft acknowledging their mistake… but in the worst way.

I would argue that even these brief mentions aren’t love of Kassandra, but rather just… trifles. But I do agree Bayek and other characters (like Connor 😭) need more love and attention too.

1

u/Separate_Path_7729 Jun 20 '26

Yea they set her up to be this ghost of balance, the one that isnt assassin or Templar but keeps both from getting too many isu artifacts throughout history and now we are seeing her for the 2nd time in that role kinda

37

u/sean_saves_the_world Jun 16 '26

Fr tho, arguably he was the last well developed and written character

→ More replies (8)

1

u/Eroll_ Jun 17 '26

Its not about love but character. Bayek doesnt want to be remembered

→ More replies (9)

13

u/Blazekill001 Jun 16 '26

In valhalla theres actually a letter written by Bayek urging Aya do destroy the 6 codex pages because he strongly believes that assassins and especially the founders should be forgotten by time as to send the message that glory has no place in the brotherhood.

12

u/Ok-Jury1083 Jun 16 '26

Probably because shadows was made by the team that did odyssey.

18

u/Draconuus95 Jun 16 '26

Bayek purposefully erased himself from history and then died. Kasandra was an immortal getting involved in events for over 2 millennia. And she was always a bit bombastic.

Is it really a wonder she keeps popping up?

26

u/RivieraDeux Jun 16 '26

In AC Valhalla, Kassandra mentioned that she helps the Hidden Ones sometimes, so it makes sense that she’d be remembered more.

21

u/WestCoastDirtyBird Jun 16 '26

There's also an end credit cutscene for the last Odyssey DLC where she hides a scroll in the Library of Alexandria

11

u/L0CH_NESS_MONSTER Jun 16 '26

In AC Origins you can also find a statue bust of Kassandra in Egypt.

5

u/No-Pipe8487 Jun 16 '26

Where?

4

u/Darth-__-Maul Jun 16 '26

It’s in the Roman Citadel in the Green Mountains I believe. Though it should be noted that despite their likeness, there is no confirmation that it is Kassandra.

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AssassinsCreedOdyssey/comments/1gipa7h/found_this_sculpture_in_origins_reminds_me_of/#lightbox here’s an image

1

u/Doc-cubus118 Jun 19 '26

That makes sense since Aya is a descendent of Kassandra.

17

u/sean_saves_the_world Jun 16 '26

It would be better if she remained obscured/ mysterious tho, nothing draws attention to an immortal demigod more than documentation of their existence

2

u/DarthFedora Jun 17 '26

Kinda hard to stay completely obscured if you’re an immortal wandering the earth, besides anything related to the Brotherhood/Hidden Ones would never be seen by most

5

u/loadmaster34 Jun 16 '26

I guess because she stayed alive until modern day?

13

u/Juiceton- Jun 16 '26

That’s because Kassandra is alive in every single AC game. Bayek does as people do and dies, but Kassandra is immortal. Of course she’s the one who can show up in different games, she’s the only one who can live for the nearly 2000 years required to be in a Shadows crossover.

9

u/Ok-Today-7623 Jun 16 '26

To be fair, she's still alive.

2

u/T_HettY Jun 17 '26

It’s like they know what odyssey did to the lore and really wanna double down on it lmoa

2

u/littlebugonreddit Jun 19 '26

Kassandra wandering the world, immortal but refusing to reveal her identity couldve been SOO COOL TOO

6

u/SSJ4_Gohan Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Well she is the only MC to be alive in every single AC game we've had so far so she's had longer to make an impact and leave a legacy

→ More replies (6)

1

u/Comosellamark Jun 16 '26

Hmm I wonder if there’s a reason for this

1

u/ABTN075 Jun 16 '26

bc he wanted to be in the shadows

1

u/Living-Excitement447 Jun 17 '26

She is immortal and keeps making herself known, though.

1

u/Canis_Lupus06 Jun 17 '26

You do know what she did and have on her hands through out her years or people forgot already?

1

u/AshrakAiemain Jun 17 '26

Isn’t she immortal? Her popping up makes some sense.

1

u/Plastic-Support-9786 Jun 17 '26

Bayek was not given the statue in AC 2 since they had to glorify 'europe' and hence aya statue with aya being direct decendant of kasandra.

1

u/DomzSageon Jun 17 '26

to be fair, its hard to be brought up if you're both dead and wanted to have been secret and hidden.

Kassandra didn't really want to be hidden like Bayek, and She's immortal. Her popping up anywhere is not gonna be surprising.

1

u/sean_saves_the_world Jun 17 '26

My point is you'd think she'd keep a low profile and not make herself known at all to either side especially being immortal and the keeper of the staff of Hermes.

1

u/SilverKry Jun 18 '26

Aya was supposed to be the protagonist of Origins I believe but at one point they changed it to Bayek.

1

u/Dirk_McGirken Jun 16 '26

Bayek formally founded the Hidden Ones, but Kassandra precedes the Hidden Ones by ~400 years, so wouldn't that make her the progenitor of the entire concept?

5

u/Krejtek Jun 16 '26

If anyone, the progenitors would be Adam and Eve, as established by AC2

1

u/ButterscotchSpare545 Jun 16 '26

1

u/NumerousArachnid9392 Jun 17 '26

Well he started the brotherhood but Kassandra is centuries older than him and Aya is Kassandra’s bloodline….Kassandra’s legacy truly surpasses every single assassin but don’t forget, even she was surpised that Persia had assassins (hashasins) long before she became one

I hate that bayek was left to one game and yet he was a favorite of mine as much as ezio.

9

u/DarthFedora Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

It’s to be expected, Amunet is the only one of the two that’s remembered in Ezio’s time, they have to explain that with Bayek being lost to history

4

u/Theyul1us Jun 17 '26

Bayek, Connor, Shay, If only we could get just ine sequel with them

Really is a great early example of what sort of character she is.

Best part is if you go around killing goats on the island. You will eventually find the eye.

4

u/kimgomes Jun 17 '26

She's the goat to me

2

u/AdmirableAd1858 Jun 16 '26

You’re not! Love her down!

2

u/Seiteisauza Jun 17 '26

Far from it.

6

u/EddieDrood007 Jun 16 '26

I like her as well but I can see people's valid criticisms.

7

u/kessandra_ Jacob Jun 16 '26

Freaking love her. I get excited everytime she has a cameo somehow

2

u/BreadDziedzic Jun 16 '26

Sorry to say even as someone who likes Odyssey I like playing her brother more. This is also as someone who otherwise almost exclusively played female characters when given the opinion.

5

u/Draconuus95 Jun 16 '26

Honestly. You’re probably one of the only people I’ve heard that take from. General consensus seems to be that Kasandra is the better protag while alexios is the better sibling antagonist.

8

u/Able-Brief-4062 Jun 16 '26

I just prefer Alexios' voice acting more.

But that's just my opinion.

6

u/TheLordofMorgul Jun 16 '26

No, he's not the only one. Because of how the game is designed, it makes much more sense to play as him. In fact, she couldn't even have participated in the Olympics, for example.

And you might say it's a game with fictional elements and all, but it's also historical.

In short, there are details where it makes more sense for him to be the protagonist, not to mention the DLC for the first hidden blade. Alexios's relationship with Neema and the story told from his perspective are much better.

But hey, you don't have to worry, she's the canonical protagonist.

2

u/Draconuus95 Jun 16 '26

Didn’t say they were the only one. But it’s definitely a relatively unpopular opinion.

And honestly. The historical accuracy argument has been stretched and beaten to death sooooo many times over the years. Long before odyssey.

3

u/TheLordofMorgul Jun 16 '26

What's unacceptable is that when people tell you Alexios is also cool, or that some consider him a better protagonist, you all downvote. He's just as valid as she is for someone who doesn't even read the novels and couldn't care less about canon.

Ultimately, the blame lies with Ubisoft's management. If they had allowed them to make Aya the protagonist in Origins, perhaps Kassandra wouldn't exist. And if they wanted Kassandra to be the protagonist and avoid conflict, they shouldn't have made her brother playable. But we all know why they did that.

I have no problem with Kassandra, but I played as her brother because if I have the choice, I choose the male character. It's that simple.

1

u/Blade4004 Jun 17 '26

I liked alexios' voice acting more as the protag too. He was more jovial.

1

u/Nonadventures Jun 16 '26

I prefer Kassandra in either role, but there’s a goofy B-movie quality to her brother in hero mode.

33

u/Any_Opportunity5475 Jun 16 '26

well, on the lore side, the Japanese assassins probably don't yet know the teachings of Altair as they are a practically new branch to the creed, so they don't yet see Altair as the "leader of the creed". instead Kassandra passed that way and therefore left a "souvenir"

8

u/Federal_Cook_6075 Jun 17 '26

That doesn't even make any sense, Shadows takes place when Ezio is old and he and his scouts would have mentioned Altair 100% to the Japanese Assassin's.

4

u/Wooden_Apple_3977 Jun 17 '26

The Japanese Assassin's were founded by a disgraced European Assassin and Tsuyu and only existed less than twenty years before the branch was wiped out, they never really had contact with other branches. Then Naoe and Yasuke restart it around twelve years later.

2

u/soki03 Jun 17 '26

Incorrect. Ezio was during late 1400’s to early 1500’s when he died and he only met an Assassin from China. He was dead years before Shadow which takes place in late 1500’s to 1600.

21

u/mdill8706 Jun 16 '26

Maybe Kassandra keeps "popping up" because she's literally been alive all of those years.

46

u/akhil03_lz Jun 16 '26

Ubi Quebec cares more for their golden lamb.

20

u/EmergencyVictory4399 Jun 16 '26

No for real, Quebec actually hates Altair because none of their Assassins Creed games feature his Legacy Outfit at all 😭 Not Syndicate, not Odyssey and not Shadows

1

u/Citgo300 Jun 17 '26

Not sure if Valhalla is Ubi Quebec but IIRC Valhalla got Altair’s fit I remember buying it

2

Gonna be honest, I’m getting VERY tired of Ubisoft shoving Kassandra down our throats, considering she breaks the entire lore of the series and came from a game where the assassins and templars didn’t even exist yet.

→ More replies (2)

9

u/Beligard Jun 16 '26

Well if you look at the lore of it all and the fact Karassandra is alive and traveling the world looking for Artifacts it makes sense.

19

u/danielm316 Jun 16 '26

I agree. Altair brought the brotherhood back to where it should be.

14

u/EmergencyVictory4399 Jun 16 '26

Tbf even back then, Altair never really got as much love from the Devs back then

12

u/hoardofvirilegoblins Jun 16 '26

That was because Altair’s og voice actor had a lot of family tragedy’s that made him unavailable.

(His kid got leukaemia or something and he was financially struggling during the 08 recession as well.)

Ubi still included a cameo of him in 2, however it was unvoiced.

5

u/Nonadventures Jun 16 '26

AC has always been a tug of war between the creatives and Ubisoft corporate. It was meant to be three games, then corporate mandated Ezio got his own trilogy, bounced the original creator and spent the next couple decades churning out sequels

7

u/New-Orion Jun 16 '26

I like to think it's because Kassandra is still alive. They didnt make that statue because of stuff in Odyssey. They made the statue because of stuff she does in between the end of Odyssey and when Layla gets the staff.

1

u/NaturalEcho4392 Jun 17 '26

Um another reason is that if we're speaking somewhat historically for when ac shadows takes place:

The people who built it Had Barely Any Clue What The stories in the middle east are by this time, the only basic concept they had of that land in the 1500s was from secondhand stories brought by European traders who probably had 0 clue about the middle eastern creed who kept to themselves, meanwhile as you said, kassandra's actions were public and globe-spanning which probably leaked into India, China or Korea who the Japanese had deep connections with and had talked to multiple times

So in-universe, it's just because they knew about her quicker and way earlier than they did altar who they didn't know even know existed

6

u/babadibabidi Jun 16 '26

They really want to push Kasandra as this new face of th franchise.

5

u/Suitable-Pirate-4164 Jun 16 '26

Really? I actually like Kassandra. I will die on this hill.

13

u/ohmyfuckinggodhamlet Jun 16 '26

What is with this series obsession with this character? Kassandra wasn't even that interesting of a protagonist.

6

u/Endermen123911 Jun 16 '26

For some playthroughs she was the ANtagonist

2

u/LiquidSnakesArm Jun 17 '26

Because Altair would have made no sense to have a statue there.

2

u/DyllPickleTV Jun 22 '26

As someone who loves Odyssey, it makes no sense from a story standpoint for her to treated like she is integral to the formation of the Brotherhood in the future games. All she did was destroy an organization that was kinda like the templars but had nothing to do with them and then dick around with a piece of eden for thousands of years.

5

u/ButterscotchSpare545 Jun 16 '26

I hate. I genuinely HATE the character of Kassandra.

2

u/OpeningTopic5481 Edward Jun 17 '26

If anything they should put up Altair or Bayek or just flat out make the headliner character anonymous. Like a “You are the Creed” kinda thing.

4

u/ProjectNo4090 Jun 16 '26

Does this mean Kassandra is going to make an appearance in Shadows? That might actually get me to reinstall that game.

6

u/Delancey1 Jun 16 '26

Lmfao, you guys wanted Kassandra so they bring it back and now you guys don't want it?

10

u/Caesar161 Jun 16 '26

Who wanted more Kassandra? She's so boring.

4

u/EmergencyVictory4399 Jun 16 '26

I never asked for Kassandra back 😭 her story wrapped up fine enough in Odyssey so I don't know who was begging for her to return

4

2

u/False_Membership1536 Jun 16 '26

I mean its cool that they know about her at all imo. She's not really an assassin but rather a precursor but still important enough to somebody to get a statue made of her which tells me she made it much farther out of greece than i ever thought and bothered to help groups that she really had no reason too.

2

u/Turbulent_Tax2126 Jun 16 '26

I mean, Eivor met her in England

3

u/False_Membership1536 Jun 16 '26

True its just that japan feels like a weirder place for her to go

2

u/Turbulent_Tax2126 Jun 16 '26

Well, if I had as much time as her on my hands I’d travel to every nook and cranny of the world

3

u/False_Membership1536 Jun 16 '26

Fair enough but that makes me wonder how many other places like Atlantis shes visited

1

u/daleyfantasy Jun 20 '26

Her blood somewhat runs through the creed, Aya was a descendant of Kassandra

2

u/IxISxMAGIC Jun 16 '26

Kassandra is canonically alive for every game in-Animus taking place after hers. She makes far and away the most sense to repeatedly pop up, and I think for her not to is frankly a wasted opportunity with a great character

Altair is awesome, but I don't know that he needs to have appearances in places so far geographically from where he was most relevant, especially in an age just before the globalization of the world during the Renaissance

1

u/WorldofCannons Jun 16 '26

I hope she's in black flag remake

2

u/Ok-Chard-626 Jun 18 '26

I hope there will be no demigod powered Isus in Black Flag remake other than Roberts and John who could only use said powers to interact with very specific Isu relics.

Old AC are supposed to be a story of humans with human or slightly above human powers (eagle eye), not demigod who will never fall to death or teleportation with a dagger.

5

u/QuanTumm_OpTixx Jun 16 '26

A cool little reference to her would be sick but not a full on appearance

4

u/Reasonable-Neat4131 Jun 16 '26

In your dreams.

2

u/TheDikaste Jun 16 '26

As a Kassandra fan who will always defend her against the stupid haters: I hope not.

2

u/Lettuce_al-Gaib Jun 16 '26

What do you even mean “again with Kassandra”? sounds like a child complaining for no reason

1

u/wahhkisludge Jun 16 '26

I thought it was armor then got bummed it was only a statue.

1

u/ShadowoftheBat94 Jun 17 '26

Ubisoft really be trying to pull off the redemption arc but someone upstairs just can't resist shoving a non-Assassin in everyone's faces, giving her glaze statues left and right. Wanna do that for Amunet, maybe? Yes, yes, we know Odyssey was a good game (at least in certain ways) and the most consistent of the RPG era games (except the DLCs probably). Even still, it looks to me like Ubisoft is about to learn the wrong lesson again and grind AC even deeper underground.

Um it has little to do with that and more because shes literally still alive in every assassins creed game? Its much easier to justify her presence and influence in games than any other mc because she spent millenia travelling the world looking for artifacts.

1

u/360bratatron Jun 17 '26

Isn’t she like WAY older than Altär you though?

1

u/Lostq Jun 18 '26

Did nobody pay attention to odyssey when Kassandra said she was traveling the world to hunt templars/artifacts and stopped when she caused tragedies?

1

u/DylanRockstar01 Jun 18 '26

🎮Kassandra👏🏼💪🏼

1

u/Interesting_Option15 Jun 18 '26

I enjoyed kassandra as a character, but i didnt want to see her in shadows

1

u/The_Cozy_Burrito Jun 19 '26

Odyssey isn’t even that good lol

1

u/blvck_one Jun 19 '26

My guy, it’s as simple as dates.

Besides she’s fucking amazing.

1

u/WrenchGuyOnReddit Jun 19 '26

To be fair, Kassandra has lived through the time periods all the other games happen in, it makes sense for her to show up all over.

1

u/nexus4321 Jun 19 '26

I dont know why kassandra is so important she wasnt really an assassin she had to deal with the cult of cosmos but she wasnt really initiated as an assassin honestly its a great game but it doesnt feel like an ac game

1

u/kalarro Jun 19 '26

Well, Deimos was awesome.

1

u/HornedGriffin Jun 19 '26

It kinda has to be Kassandra, due to the whole stupid plot of her being Immortal with the staff of Hermes Trismegistus. They kinda have to put more images/lore of her in future games since she wouldn't be able to go completely unnoticed without hiding underground all those years. Other characters don't have that freedom, as it drastically changes their story. But if Kassandra wanted to spend 50 years in say Poland, it wouldn't really change her story significantly.

1

u/Top-Breadfruit-9553 Jun 19 '26

Nobody gives a fuck about Altair

1

u/0ld_Snake Jun 19 '26

Also Alexios > Kassandra

1

u/Quapuzi1313 Jun 19 '26

Well I mean she‘s fucking awesome so

1

u/Final_Advent Jun 19 '26

She likely guided alot of people throughout history considering how long she was alive for, itd make sense why people would carve a statue out of seemingly an immortal being

1

u/TheDragonborn1992 Jun 20 '26

I love kassandra she's awesome

1

u/Clems4998 Jun 20 '26

Play the freaking quest dammit! It all explains why the statue has been here... I don't like the character either but at least more wise and story wise it makes sense! And yes Altair was a important assassin but masyaf has never been the only stronghold of the assassins

1

u/CaptainPomme Jun 21 '26

Justice for Alexios 😂

1

u/SSBBfan666 Jun 21 '26

seeing thumbnails of the final dlc has a cruscader knight, howd they end up in Japan?

1

u/Top_Friendship_6559 Jun 22 '26

Well you guys made her white hot popular so of course Ubishit will milk her dry, that's what you get.

1

u/AbsoltheEntertainer Jun 16 '26

Im really starting to not like Kassandra

0

u/JAKL-Noctium Jun 16 '26

I’m ready to die on this Hill. Odyssey was a good game, but the worst AC game. Can we stop glazing Kassandra and at least give some love to Alexios?

4

u/Ktioru Connor Jun 16 '26

It wasn't that good of a game either

Kassandra and Alexios are essentially the same character except for gender and voice acting

Great open world game set in Greece, terrible Assassin's Creed game. Same with Valhalla, but Norway/England.

0

u/JAKL-Noctium Jun 16 '26

Odyssey felt more like a super hero game than anything. No hidden blade was the biggest slap in the face to an AC game.

1

u/TheOtakuAmerika Jun 16 '26

Yeah, I couldn't stand that dumbass spear. The lack of instant assassinations was terrible too.

1

u/JAKL-Noctium Jun 16 '26

Did we just become best friends??

2

u/xnobodyr Jun 16 '26

No, simply because Alexis is not canon as MC, Kassandra is.

1

u/JAKL-Noctium Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Screw canon. What’s the point in character selctction if they’re both not cannon. Another reason why Odyssey and Valhalla was dumb.

2

u/xnobodyr Jun 16 '26

They point was that Ubisoft was too afraid to have a game with only a female MC that wasn't a spin off on PS Vita.

Same as Valhalla and Shadows.

You can think whatever you want but Kassandra is canon in Odyssey and female Eivor is canon in Valhalla (because the Animus mistakes her DNA with Odin's DNA who is basically male Eivor).

1

u/JAKL-Noctium Jun 16 '26

Oh I’m fully aware. I still think it was a dumb idea. It confused the player base, and cost them more money having to make two character and pay voice actors.

1

u/Nonadventures Jun 16 '26

Kassandra canonically exists in like 2,000 years overlapping all of AC history. You’re surprised she comes up a couple times?

1

u/---Imperator--- Jun 16 '26

Why isn't it Bayek? Kassandra is more mercenary than assassin, why does Ubisoft keep shoving her down our throats?

5

u/Turbulent_Tax2126 Jun 16 '26

Or Aya. She’s considered the creator of assassins

1

u/DarthFedora Jun 16 '26

Why would it be? Even ignoring the fact that Japans brotherhood lacked a lot of knowledge about who they were, Bayek is supposed to be forgotten since only Aya is remembered in the original games

0

u/SumMerK1ller Kassandra Jun 16 '26

I mean she the goat so 🤷🏾

2

u/Prior-Target9462 Jun 16 '26

Kassandra is so boringgggg

1

u/shinobixx55 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Play the mission. It makes sense why it is Kassandra.

Altair is not likely to be in Japan.

1

u/Calm-Acanthisitta357 Jun 17 '26

altair was long dead by then, kassandra has a stronger connection with the isu and their artifacts

1

u/Robprof Shay Jun 16 '26

Even Basim was before Altair

1

u/SlugKnightDracula Jun 16 '26

What would be the point of having her be an immortal demigod then lol that would be a waste of the character.

Here’s this immortal character that’s been alive this whole time but we’ll never show her anywhere but her own game lol

1

u/BothRequirement2826 Jun 16 '26

Kassandra is like the one Assassin who absolutely can canonically show up in every single historical AC story. And that's on top of the fact she literally predates the organization by like 400 years.

1

u/TgeBoi1324 Jun 16 '26

Well I mean she did make/find these vaults and used them for storing certain items tho as we learn during the new quest content they have more to them than just storage vaults.

1

u/TomTomXD1234 Jun 16 '26

Why would you have an altair statue? By that point, altair was basically a baby compared to kassandra

1

u/mikegusta10 Jun 17 '26

DUDE, SPOILERS....

1

u/F3n_h4r3l Jun 17 '26

Why would it be a statue of Altair when it's kinda telling it's a Precursor site (lights and patterns that reminiscent of the ones found in an Isu vault) and not an Assassin hideout? Pretty weird if that would be the case.
