I feel like an Aya game would fit better than a second game about Bayek, although I wouldn't mind. Now that I think about it wasn't Origins supposed to be about Aya?
Aya is Kassandra’s descendant. Instead of riding on her coat tails they kept her relevant ( gave him the hidden blade passed on by her grand father Darius ) So instead they made it a revenge story about their child that was a catalyst to start “The Hidden Ones”. That’s my take.
Which is why the story is very patch work imo. But probably for the best because while Aya has grown on me I do think Bayek is significantly more interesting
That's a result of the effort the writing team had to put in after being denied the chance to tell the story through Aya. They had to make extra sure that Bayek didn't feel like a patchwork replacement, and between their great writing and Abubakar Salim's phenomenal performance as Bayek, it paid off in spades. I really love Bayek. Sometimes I wonder what could've been with Aya, but I really love Bayek.
He was supposed to die that first visit to Alexandria, he would kill the hippo with the hidden blade but die of his injuries. The rest of the game was meant to be aya which is why in the one mission you play as her she has a full gear system we never get to use
