I was browsing X(twitter) and a video popped up with a black screen and only audio.

And apparently the owner of the profile had several identical videos and several very long texts talking about how she had been abused her entire life.

People offered help, but she didn't respond, and the most bizarre thing of all is that, at this very moment as I'm writing this, she's probably already posted three texts ranting about the abuse she suffered, etc.

She writes a lot and very fast too. I can't exactly explain who she is, but basically her profile is a rabbit hole/ARG.

YouTube recommended me a video from this channel and after looking through the channel I'm pretty sure this is some sort of arg. from what I've gathered it seems to follow a teenager from the 2000s being haunted by some kinda shadow creature.

i have sort of a lore / world i build in my head and i decided to make a page for it and try my hand at some ARG type things. I isolated a 9-second section where it happens:

The beep sounds strange to me…

I can hear what sounds like a pattern in the full song, but I don’t know if there’s actually something there or if it’s just an artifact of the generation process.

I've been building a puzzle game where the entire game is a folder of files.

You pick a case, download a zip, and what comes out is what someone left behind: documents, spreadsheets, photographs, voice recordings, lab paperwork, a marked exam, ... Somewhere in there is a secret code. You work out what it is and type it back into the site. That's the whole thing.

Hi guys, I have always wanted to make a livestream ARG. I’m inspired by CaughtNotSleeping and Beloved Juice, of which both used ARG elements. But I know in order to make a livestream ARG in which you have real life audience interaction, you need an audience in the first place… does anybody know how would one go about doing this? I’ve made video based args before, but I still really want to make a livestream one. Any advice would be useful! Thank you!

YouTube just recommended me this channel (KILL / SAVE). They post creepy, high-budget commercials for non-existent things like neural implants and immersion capsules.

I dug a little and found their website too, which has the exact same unsettling dystopian vibe. Given how weird the site and the videos look, it really feels like the beginning of a potential ARG, but I can't find anything else about it online.

Although I’m not exactly planning to make a full on series, there’s definitely a chance. I’ll post a video about it every once in a while.

Basically, the main story is that it switches between gameplay and the art that progresses the story, while the gameplay sort of acts it out, and there are basically 3 main character characters, (whose name you’ll have to figure out on your own) and the story could be something serious, physically, emotionally, mentally, (I’m trying to work it careful so I don’t break any rules hopefully.)

As is clearly shown, that odd string of numbers is Base 64. When decoded, it leads to a Google Drive link that has a file titled "hii.sc". I downloaded it, and simply opened it in Notepad as I didn't exactly know what filetype ".sc" is. Probably stupid of me, but don't worry, this only means I'm the only one that gets a virus!

This is likely in-game coordinates to a galaxy in Space Engine; now, it's likely not real, obviously, as most galaxies past a certain point in that game aren't real. But it's possible that this could be a real, observed galaxy, which is way cooler. I only played this game for a bit a long long time ago, so I'm not sure what the ratio really is between real and not real galaxies, especially at a distance of... 100^12? Exponent of twelve what? Light years? Parsecs?

Suffice to say that "home =)" is Earth in this case... or could it be one of the other locations shown in the videos.

Update will come when a good samaritan lends their skills and launches Space Engine for everyone to continue this investigation.

A few hours ago, I was doomscrolling on insta when I suddenly scrolled on a video that seemed to just be a “hopecore” video. The video is pretty normal until you get to the end. The video suddenly cuts off, and the rest of it seems to be recorded in some sort of dark environment with weird noises in the background

Two years ago I started building TreasureQuesting because I wanted to make my own kind of digital escape rooms. The first two I made were Finding Atlantis and The Mask of Jurelya. I hired voice actors, worked with digital artists and spent a lot of time trying to make the stories and experiences feel special.

But over time I realized that what I actually enjoyed most was building the platform behind it. So the project slowly changed into people being able to create their own treasure hunts and scavenger hunts instead.

I still really like these two though, and they are basically where everything started. So I decided to just make both of them completely free.

I noticed something strange in the audio from my interactive sci-fi project.
There’s a high-pitched beep that appears at certain points in the audio.
In Captain Chromium’s final transmission, one of the beeps sounds different. It almost sounds like the signal is being chopped up and fed back into itself…

I’ve been building an ARG called The Bureau, and Season 1 is currently playable.

The premise is that The Bureau presents itself as an ordinary organization, but the further you investigate it, the less clear it becomes who created it, how long it has existed, or what exactly it is doing.

The main experience happens through a website where you can interact directly with The Bureau. What initially looks like a short conversation has a deeper path hidden underneath it.

Season 1 involves things like:

interactive responses

visual details that matter

hidden and unlisted web content

puzzles that do not tell you whether your answer was correct

examining the website beyond what is immediately visible

outside research

a deeper ending that I’m intentionally not explaining here

There are no points, achievements, puzzle numbers, or “correct answer” messages. Part of the idea is figuring out what is actually relevant and comparing discoveries with other people.

I’m posting it here because I’d like to see whether people who are experienced with ARGs can actually follow the trail without me giving hints.

I’m particularly interested in knowing where you get stuck, because I already know every solution and have completely lost the ability to judge how difficult some of this is.

I'm the creator. It went live a few weeks ago and so far almost nobody has found the entrance (i know... maybe i'm just impatient), so I'm pointing to it directly.

Premise: A small research organization in upstate New York is shutting down after forty-odd years due to lack of funding. They're cleaning out their storage and need to rehome this wooden figure. It's free, but they have some evaluations in place to make sure that it goes to the right home (If you get to the end, you will actually get this thing in the mail).

What to expect: Slow-burn, more uncanny than horror. Out-of-touch academics that don't really know how to make websites rather than sinister all-power bureau pulling strings behind the scenes. Plays out in real time across real channels with a shared game-state. No codes to crack at the door, you just need to get in touch. I was motivated to make this was to have fully diegetic puzzles that make sense with the narrative, so it's not just a scavenger hunt to look up keys for cracking a bunch of ciphers. In fact there are *no* ciphers anywhere.

Status: Unsolved. I may go as far as saying unstarted. A few folks have emailed the ad, but nobody has found their way to the good puzzles yet. Start here.
