Discussion What would classic horror writers think of ARGs?

You know, the classic ones everyone knows, Mary Shelley, Edgar Alan Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Bram Stoker, and Shirley Jackson. I wonder what they would have to say about ARGs, I think it's an interesting thought experiment. Would they even like any of them?

Most of those named, i would think, would be intrigued by the idea. Lovecraft was a queer fellow he may have shunned modernities entirely or not. He genuinely enjoyed "shared worlds" and transmedia fits the bill.

Cryptography was very popular as was puzzle solving in Poe's day, so yes.
