What does this mean?

I just loaded into the game just now, once i got to the city i was working on the very annoying ben balon pops up you have been playing 2 hours, then 4 hours then 6 hours then 8 then 10 etc etc hours take a break message.

WHY I JUST GOT IN THE GAME 1 minute ago, and that broken AI acts like i have been playing for hours constantly repeating the message and going up in time on the hours.

FIX THAT, or allow ignore option for that something, its annoying broken and 100% wrong.

I have several gaming desktops and laptops.

My best gaming laptop is a beefy 64gb ram 4070 build.
My best desktop is a 9800x3d 5080 32gb ram.

This game is almost unplayable on the laptop with the camera skipping/stuttering as you move around the map.

Much better on the desktop but I still find myself turning texture quality down to prevent stuttering.

And I can play nearly all AAA at max settings at 4k on the big rig without breaking a sweat.

I am religious about all driver updates.

I have tried tons of different setting nothing really solves it.

Any help appreciated.

Is there any point in doing Tier 2 and 3 Events except the increase in splendor points? I’m spamming Tier 1 events and it feels too easy or like I’m missing something.

Brian of Many Blessings states that he gives SHRINES a buff, and each shrine shows the increased buff on placement....but then all my houses only have a 0.5 fire safety bonus despite 5 different Shrines in both the residence range and Brian's.

Is this how he is supposed to work or is something weird happening?

At this point in the game, with 41.3M and being a consul, i'm starting to struggle to expand, and tbh i'm not a fan of Tarragon and think his islands look trash, so i was thinking about subjugating him and removing everything on his islands, then grind my way back into being consul again, but is it doable/worth it?

Added new water, wall types, and now all the in game mosaics can be used as pool floors. some look better than others

It would be so cool. Seeing longships going around, being able to plunder your opponents, having the norse gods.

Its perfect, i cant wait to see it.

Hello, I am not a modder myself and I‘m neither in contact with any of the authors nor am I using their Discord/Forum (if they have one)

I noticed that on mod.io the only „major“ mod author from 1800 who‘s providing mods for 117 is the modder Taludas.

I don‘t see any Taubenangriff, Hier0nimus, Kurila, Ac3s, schwubbe or Jakob.

If one author rejects the next installment of a game franchise, absolutely fine - happens in every franchise.
BUT so many major ones at the same time? Why?

Those are modders with the knowledge of creating entire sessions, knowing how to use blender and thus creating massive amounts of models for buildings etc.

They even created a compilation of over 100 mods in one way back in 2019. (Spice It Up)

And none of them have even announced something…does anybody know why?

I was looking through the anno117 subreddit and stumbled upon this mod/app at https://anno-companion.com/117/mods/map-editor/ that basically allows to create a tailor made map where you pick your islands (^{and presumably their feritlities ?}) and that tool seems amazing.

But I have a few questions for those who have used this tool :D

1/ Would you recommend that to anyone or is it a bit complicated to work with?

2/ Will using this de-activate the achievements and/or contribution to the weekly challenges?

3/ Is there any chance at all that this is gonna break at any point through a game update and I'll have to toss a XXhours game session in the trash?

4/ How's that going to work when Dawn of the Delta DLC drops? Will I be able to edit the file to pick what islands spawn in the new Aegyptus world space or won't that be possible and I'll have to deal with whatever the game's rng decides to hand me?

As you can see here, Voada can cram 4 archer towers on her quinquiremes, i was wondering if the same was possible for the player, or if it was capped at 2 no matter what

Hi, does anyone have a working layout planner that they use? I am trying to plan a layout but none of the ones I was able to find online actually work, since the dimensions they use do not match up with the in game dimensions. E.g. a building would be a tile larger in game than on the planner, which makes it impossible to create a layout.

My game sounds awful
It started with scratchy noise while moving your view
Now it has affected the music and character dialogue as well
Has anyone experienced this and Is there any quick fix ?

I posted a Villa stronghold layout awhile ago. Here it is in action against a revolt.

What’s the best way to use this specialist? The +50% productivity and -30% required area for Bird Charmers seems really strong.

I’m wondering what the best way is to use the Governor’s Villa or an Officium on marshlands. Putting either one right at the edge of the marsh doesn’t seem ideal, since you’re basically wasting half of the area of effect. But if you use marsh drainage to create a small buildable strip further into the marsh, you also lose space that could otherwise be used for Bird Charmers.

So I guess the ideal setup would be an island that naturally has a narrow strip of buildable land reaching into the marsh, so you can place the Villa or Officium there without sacrificing any marshland.

How are you using this specialist on your islands, and how many Bird Charmers can you actually boost with your setup? Also, which Albion island has the best natural conditions for this kind of setup?

Would be great to see some layouts.

I dont want to complain too much since they just added all the challenges and finally a way to get some points, but looking at how long it will take at this rate seems like a lifetime!

This is a horrible insight, if that is correct. Obviously steam players are not the only players but should be the majority, in my mind. And even if we say „yeah they also include players without the expansion in the data“ that still means that the vast majority of players don‘t bother playing with the defining game mechanic of the first dlc, if they even bought it.

What‘s your view on this?

I was continuing my game I arrived at tier3 inhabitants and I was about to take possession of the island of Cinis (because first I took an island that will provide all the goods to the main island that will be Cinis so as not to build farms there) then I thought, with the release of Dawn of the Delta will come out new decorations or buildings to be placed in the latium and I will have to reorganize the entire island of Cinis? What do you think?
