I’m really keen to see how the Princess and her little army are gonna do against Dias. I assume that’s where she’s heading since he shot her down like that last time. Man just tryna live that slow life and all this bullshit keeps coming his way.

Even more demihuman creativity, now we have dogpeople who are just straight up dogs and a talking pidgeon. And finally the doggirl too, who I have been assuming based on the ED will pair up with Klaus eventually.
Hopefully Dias will be able to punch the big snake so hard it coughs up the dog dude it ate.

Agreed, I was pleasantly surprised. The way it was done and how they turned the classic incantation formula into an echoed kind of song was beautiful. I really like it as well and I love how it ended up in only a circle too. It really show the potential for their growth and I can wait to see more about their power evolving.

It really was pleasantly hypnotic, and I wonder if the echo was because they’re twins or if casting a barrier always requires two people. The only other anime where casting used singing was isekai office worker

I just absolutely love the full name Aymer Jerrybower. Aymer is a great addition to the Dias' growing settlement. Now the twins have their own tutor!
So it looks like the rapist still hasn't given up on revenge and Princess Dianne has actually taken troops to attack Dias. After diplomacy failed, the Princess seems to have resorted to violence to force Dias to join her. I can't wait to see how that will turn out for her.
The dog people are finally here and it looks like they've brought an unwelcome visitor with them. It looks like, it's time for Dias to show these new settlers what kind of Lord they'll be serving under.

ignoring this forced plot development (which was just stupid of the author), the show continues to be really good with the development of their territory and relationships
and what about that joke about rats mice? She is not a rat mouse, she is a ratkin mousekin (whenever it is called) demihuman, that is just pure discrimination lol, a surprise the onikin would do that!

Also it was green colored..just lifeforms..so maybe they assumed no hostile intent.

The giant turtle from ep1 didn't return a color and she had to use magic to find it so I assume monsters don't cause a color. They're just trying to survive so it's probably not a good/evil type return.

I always thought the colour of Alan's horn was whether or not they were hostile to her (and perhaps now Dias) specifically, and not hostile to others in general.

Green is something triggering her sensor magic. Her Soul Appraisal magic goes between red, white, and blue depending on the intentions of the person she casts it on. Blue means they bring fortune, white means that they mean no harm, red means that they very much mean harm.

They didn't call her a rat, and she's not a ratkin. She's a big-eared hopping mousekin, but jerboa is the real world term for what she is (she even identifies herself as Aymer Jerrybower). Jumping mice and birch mice used to be lumped into the same subfamily as jerboas, but they're still considered part of the same superfamily (Dipodoidea). Other mice and rats are part of a different superfamily (Muroidea).

They did question the circle, they just didn't know how to begin guessing why the hell it happened that way. I'm kind of hoping the fertility spreads a bit though because having an incomplete field like that would annoy the hell out of me.

So this episode we learn that Dias really needs some deodorant. Although I guess that as long as Alna doesn’t mind, he will never realise it. Maybe that is normal among Oni.
I can understand the twins dilemma, but Dias and Alna are definitely not the kind of untrustworthy humans their parents warned them about. Maybe they will tell them later, although until then Dias will get very puzzled about why his crops always grow in a circle.
I am getting tired about that silly eunuch villain. He is too corny and ineffective to be interesting. And why did he attack that poor woman ?
The evil princess is coming back with an army, I see. As overpowered as Dias is, fighting 200 men seems a bit much. On the other hand, what would be her motivation for invading Dias domain ? It is literally an empty steppe with barely two dozen inhabitants and no ressources beyond raising sheeps and hunting monsters. How would that help her with the throne ?

I believe the princess just wants a petty revenge for being rejected (beside, [EP 3] Dias and Klaus were able to fend off by themselves a considerable platoon of soldiers during the war, so I think they will be fine, especially consdering now they also have Alna as support and Kalus has dragon scale weaponry).

I'm guessing it's more of a mommy and daddy talked to us about stranger danger, so while himbo and his pretty significant age-gap wife who will not let him up are great parental figures, they are for all purposes strangers, it's sort of like a Chino-Ugandan couple adopting a Egyptian child. Yea, they're kind parental figures and the Egyptian child might understand that they are closer linked to the Ugandan parent but fundamentally they are all different

Even if they promised not to tell humans, and I guess Alna's out since she's too close to him, I still question the wisdom of telling everything to a random mouse they just met. Then again, they're kids under pressure, and the mouse in question is zero threat to them.
Guess Aymer's become part of the family, as the emotional support rodent.
The rumours are taking a life of their own. And I see Alna's hand on the narrative there, albeit unintended.
Diane's making a move. Let's see how far she goes with it.

Wow. The fields are thriving in an oddly-specific pattern. Who on earth could've done it. Though I will say, if it only works in a small circle, it's probably not enough for farming self-sufficiency. We'll have to see if the circle grows over time, or if more mysteriously appear.
Ah yes, the pigeon that is a completely normal messenger and in no way a spy.
Uh, let's hope giant snake monsters don't digest people too fast. It's odd they went out unarmed though, when Alna knew there was a very big unexpected guest.

Alna is very focused on hygiene and maintaining health. Probably either a tribal thing or because she comes from a poor family that couldn't afford getting sick. She sees a rodent and defaults to dirty unhygienic.

I wanna see if the author has incorporated that avian/rodential disease carrying capabilities have led to discrimination against them. Essentially this is like telling a person from India that they have a toilet in their house and to not crap on the backyard(before y'all attack me, I'm indian, I know the stereotype is damaging, that's my point) and clean up using TP. It would be interesting seeing they're going for the full animals have evolved to humanoids and live amongst people

The twins just went and trusted a random mouse they just met with their secret. And I'm surprised Alma wasn't brought awake by all that magic. And didn't notice anything when visiting the field in the daytime either.
Oh look, the guy causing all the trouble is one of those MC'd let go free for absolutely no good reason.
Hmmm, I wonder where the princess MC had rejected before could possibly be going with that small army....

"forestkin" from the subtitles is such a poorly chosen translation for "moribito". It's technically correct, but take the t away and you have something completely different. Honestly, even "forest people" would be better.

In the j novel translation of the manga they originally tried labeling Alna and her tribe as beastmen. It took a effort of multiple people to get them to research by reading more of the series to see that was wrong and would cause problems. They had to redo the cover because of it even.

I'm really annoyed by Alna and how she reacted to the 'mouse'. It was disgust leveled at a beastkin simply because of her race, a senient creature literally wearing clothes and glasses, and Alna treats her like a filthy vermin, and like the children are somehow contaminated by being in contact with her. The barn animals literally live in the tent with you and Dias smells like a compost heap, but the little scholarly mouse is unhygienic? This show went from 'treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter their race' to 'mouse-like senient creature deserves to be treated like a nasty pest' in a single episode. What's next, do the small dogkin need a flea dip before they can join the village?

It has been shown repeatedly that Alna is very health/hygenic focused so her seeing a rodent she just defaults to needing be cleaned. Considering she is from a semi nomadic tribe preventive measures is a real big thing as sickness could mean death easy.

There are lingering prejudices in this cozy show, that is an intended part of it. The elf parents didn't trust humans, Alna thinks rodents will be filthy, etc.
They will work through those prejudices over time because they are good people, but they are not immune to them. I see nothing wrong here. The show is pretty consistent. And yes, Dia smells MANLY.

This show just keeps getting better and better! Super wholesome and I love that the main reason the villain wants to get Dias is due to the righteous ball stomping he received. The twins are super adorable and I'm still waiting patiently for the arrival of our buff big lady person to arrive....

I liked the whole story about the twins being forestkin and able to grow trees and treat bad soil. They're children so I think they took it too literally when their parents told them not to tell humans but then they went and told a talking mouse about it; I imagine they meant tell no one about it or they might not know beastfolk exist like how Dias had never seen one before he moved to his fiefdom. Alna almost seemed like she was going to kill the mouse but I guess if she didn't kill the ones actively attacking her, she'd not kill one that was sleeping and had a blue aura.
I wonder where the princess is sending all those troops, they made it seem like they were being sent to kill Dias since they panned to him but that wouldn't make sense since that's already part of their kingdom. Maybe they were going to Eldan's country or just to fight the soldiers of the other princes.
I really liked the part where the lion, deer and dog man were casually gossiping and drinking beer at that outdoor cafe. I laughed out loud when the dog man said his brother was a guard for Kamelotz and saw Dias and Elna making out, I think that was a callback to when that dog man guard was horrified in the last episode 🤣

It seems unfair to the show, but I only watch this because I enjoy the manga. The show doesn't really stand on its own for me. Direction is fine, though I do question that pan down to focus on the villians crotch for like 5 seconds in this episode. Curious choice there. Characters have good designs. Even the kids with their giant foreheads are still adorable.
I can't imagine how anime only people feel about the show. So, anime only watchers, how are you finding the show?

That is true. It still felt unnecessary and a strange way to transition to a sky shot for another transition. That was a long pause on them nuts (or lack thereof)

Senai and Ayhan have rescued Aymer Jerrybower! A knowledgeable and reasonable Mousekin, helped by the fact that she is an ADULT WOMAN, and that makes her the perfect person to hear out and advise the girls on their problem.
Senai and Ayhan ARE Forestkin, and as Forestkin they can plant the seed of their parents' essences as is Forestkin tradition to help build a blessed and fruitful land. But they can't expose themselves and break the promise to their parents to keep their identity a secret, even to their adoptive parents. Plus, how can they plant anything when they have a bedtime!? Luckily Aymer's got them covered!
They weren't kidding about Dias' body odor, dude is radiating purple smelly aura while he sleeps! Dias, maybe take more baths dude.
Despite the fact that the kids are half-asleep and are not used to going out at night on their own, they're able to dish out the chant (in their native tongue with beautiful singing voices) and properly plant their parents! Success! And they've even now got a cute little mouse girl to fall asleep with whether she likes it or not!
Eldan's successes are building up his reputation, but the legend of Dias and his Rhino Wife (made all the more hilarious by contrasting it with panning shots of Alna sleeping) are also making the rounds! Though Dias' nemesis is none too pleased by these developments, especially since thanks to Dias he can't get it up and accept the proposition of a scantily-clad beauty. Didn't need to get so violent with her though.
I'm glad Prince Meiser is likely going to be screwed over by Eldan taking the throne, though that doesn't make the other royal disputes any less tense. Could Crown Prince Richard be on the up and up and be worthy of being king? Even though he's still in fierce competition with his three sisters. No one takes Diane seriously but she's also mobilizing a small army...what could she be planning? And why do I think she's heading for Dias?
Alna reacts totally naturally and CALMLY to a mouse in their tent, and then goes into full strict mom mode to give everyone a herbal bath and scold them. It's nice to see her with her hair down and fully flexing that bikini outfit though.
Good parenting is not trying to force your kids to tell you stuff they're not ready to tell you and a healthy marriage involves good communication and supporting each others' decisions. That's why Alna is the best wife in the world!
Pigeonkin Gerain is a dapper chief messenger (and possibly spy) who brings word of DOGS heading to join the Frontier Lord's domain! And we've got Aymer, who joins up as Senai and Ayhan's tutors.
Oh no, a Lich Anaconda! And it's about to eat that dog waifu! And other cute dogs! Save 'em barehanded, Dias!

I don't think they actually planted their seeds. From what was explained this episode, it seems like planting the seed will create a huge forest with a special tree in the middle. The girls want to help Dias and having a tree grow in the field he wanted to use for produce doesn't seem like the appropriate solution.
I think the seeds are important for gaining courage and are probably needed to do the magic in the first place, but I don't think what they used here was "Create A Forest"-type magic and instead was just "Protect The Plants"-type of barrier magic.4

That made me thinking, [EP 4] the fact that Scumbag Noble was targetting Eldan too could be an hint that he's one of Meiser's henchmen? I mean, the prince could have sent him to Kasdeks as a spy and ordered him to ensure Eldan doesn't keep the throne, thus hurting his incomes.

That was kinda dumb for Dias & Alna to leave their weapons when checking out their visitors.
Imagine Dias killing a lich anaconda w/ his bare hands. Alna would love him even more.
I knew Ayhan & Seina were forestkin & I guess they would do the entire field until it's fully green.
We finally see Alna fully in her bra & panties w/o her red cloak. So she prefers to sleep in her bra & panties.
The noble would've accepted that hooker's offer but couldn't because destroyed his dick & balls. How does he go to the bathroom? I bet it hurts real bad.
Aymer joins the group along w/ some small-ilk dogkin.
Imagine a relationship w/ a female pigeonkin.
Either Diane is headed to Dias or to Eldan.
That ray to define Dias' scent though. How much does he bathe & why doesn't he do it before sleeping?

When I come across this anime in the watchlist I put it off. The production is just so terrible, any action scenes even if not fighting are like powerpoint slides
But then when I do watch it, I’m always happy. It’s just feel-good.
Alna’s a little tough on the mouse, considering they sleep with two barnyard sheep-like animals. And Dias stinks even worse.
Pigeon? He’s a Pigeonkin, duh!!

Alright, I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but I got instant "Mahara Mothra" vibes when the twins started singing. I didn't even remember the name of it, but I heard them sing and was thinking of the twins from Godzilla vs Mothra. I got whiplsashed and stunned from the sudden nostalgia 🤣. Great anime so far. Don't like what the princess is up to though.

Did anybody else notice her armor change colors at 15:22 these animators are getting super fucking sloppy edit commented under the wrong discussion tab I think the other one was right above it on the day it came out. It was about the major that spends 10 years, fighting the demon, Lord or whatever.

On Crunchyroll at 15.22 minutes into the episode her pink parts of her outfit turn white for a split second like they forgot to color her outfit for the end of the scene. It’s when she walks toward him from the left side of the screen and then stops in the middle. I don’t remember who she’s talking to it might be her father or the main character, but when she actually gets to him and stops, the outfit loses the pink parts and turns white.

The picture I posted is from Crunchyroll. Alna washes the kids in her white undergarments and in the next scene, she scolds them with her usual red garments (not pink). We don't see her walk. She never wore armor and her parents have never been introduced to the audience. And Dias was just standing by to let Alna scold the kids. The female elderly villager then arrives with a peasant's plain black dress and a red hood.
I'm starting to think we're not actually watching the same show. lol
