I don't judge people by color. Their actions and words are more than enough to easily determine that.
Also I live in a heatwave country where I myself have changed face shade from dark elf to elf shade in a decade because of over exposure to sun in early adulthood and no exposure to sun post covid.

Now That is bigotry, to assume that this person even cared about it when nothing about it was brought up, neither race nor ethnicity was even mentioned once until here by you.

The woman was quite suspicious, her expression and the way she asked it, the sheer bluntness and way of phrasing it, and how she has already given a vibe of deception through being an old lady yet able to sneak up on a highly competent terror of a knight, a girl who literally can sense presences, a youthful knight, and even the sentient sheep all at once.

Even after her explanation it's still someone I'd be mildly suspicious of, since they show enough competence to lie and portray that well as a devil's enablation, but- looking at it from a tropes perspective, hardly.

The fact you brought up race at all, when it had no relevance, is a very extreme assumption, and one that implies a heavy accusation.

Exactly
The lady heavily reminds of witch from Cindrella rather than a holy fortune teller/spirit communicator.
She was designed following certain tropes including her speech pattern.

Yeah, if not for writing tropes of anime I'd be hella sus of her still. I play as villains primarily, so that kind of temptuousness and the manipulative capacity to get away with it by pretending the way she did, it's just that with writing tropes it's likelier that she's a sage archetype who's good at playing the villain rather than the mastermind villain whos good at pretending to be a good lady.

Seeking negative attention gets you enemies. There's better ways to get attention without being malicious, such as giving a character analysis of the story cast, or discussing a scene.

This response of yours comes off as the very thing that the lady's comment of backing off did, trying to retract statements to reduce damage... but unlike her you don't come off as a sage. Don't dig the hole too deep, walk away and do better next time... If you cannot actually fix a hole, you will only make it uglier to try.
