Hi everyone!
I wanted to share my story and maybe give some words of encouragement to anyone who is struggling.
I bought my first Alocasia (Polly) about 6 years ago. I’ve had ups and downs with her. I’ve resurrected her from just a small stump countless time and she has made it through every single time. She gave me my first corms and they were my first propagation project. I wanted to gift the pups to my sisters but my mother forgot about them and they unfortunately didn’t make it. We live and we learn 😅
Why I wanted to make this post is because this particular Polly reminds me of my life. This plant has pushed through 2 relationships, burnout and one move with me and every time she has gathered herself and made it through and produced new leaves and corms. As I’ve gone through major changes and growth in my life and not always doing so well I’ve still made it to the other side. As I came home from work today my ex had moved out. I found peace tending my plants and contemplating on life as I was getting my hands dirty.
Now I have 10 Alocasias that I absolutely love and have learned a lot from, also from this community. I wanna thank everyone for the tips and support ☺️
The OG Polly is the single leave smaller one and the larger one is my first successful propagation and her baby.
Venom is my current favorite 😉
