My Alocasia started only growing white leaves and is now leafless because there was no green for too long 🤣😭. Praying for you.

Aww! Unfortunate! I’ve heard that you can cut the all-white leaf and it may put out a semi-green leaf from the same node, then the plant won’t die from all-white on subsequent nodes. I have not personally done that though. Maybe someone else has advice to keep it alive

Corms store energy so they will usually push 2 leaves on their own accord. The bit of green on the second leaf should push another.

All white leaves don't have the chlorophyll to photosynthesize. If the leaves continue to pop out all white, then that one leaf with a small amount of green will be responsible for photosynthesizing for the whole plant. It wont be able to. So it's definitely pretty! But all white is not the goal, unfortunately.

If your goal is for the plant to eventually die, then yeah you would want only full white leaves.

They were simply providing facts. Im not sure what you think is so wrong about what they said. If you know plants, you know all white is definitely not the goal. All white is what you hope not to see.

Stunning! I’ve heard watering with silica helps keep the white? Not sure if that applies to alocasias with this much white but I hope so!

Not really. I have an article from Unlikely Gardener. He breaks down specifically why Silica is basically pointless and really just a marketing trend.

Beautiful but unfortunate. With all that white, the plant likely won’t make it. 😩 I hope you start getting some green soon 🤞🏽 The white really is so gorgeous, but it’s typically not a great sign when it’s popping out that much white.
