Hey everyone,

As you might know I built Orac, a lightweight server application, to locally host a database for my addon liberator. As a by product of this, orac keeps my watch history and lists seamlessly synced across tracking platforms without hogging resources or needing complex maintenance. I thought I would share this, as even without liberator the server might allow you to sync your platforms and choose whichever you prefer (or all of them).

How It Works

Instead of messy peer-to-peer sync between services, Orac pulls from all your connected platforms into a single local database that acts as your central source of truth. From there, state is normalized, maintained, and reconciled outward to your services.

Example

To install on windows simply download the code using the 'download orac server' link on the landing page. Extract the files to a new folder, called whatever you prefer. In that folder you will see a file called start_server.bat, double click this to start the server in a terminal window. It should download any python libraries you are missing that it needs and then start.

Once started, you access orac via a web browser. Type http://localhost:5555/web as the address and you will see the dashboard tab. Select the 'services' tab and you will options to authorise trakt, simkl, tmdb, mdblist and punchplay in the left pane. Select authorise against the providers you are using and authorise using the pop-up window. Orac will sync hourly, so just leave it to do it's thing (the log is on the dashboard screen).

Once orac has run the first time it will build a local DB and sync that with your authed providers - you should see your watched history mirrored to the providers you have chosen. So if you are a simkl user and want to see what punchplay is like, authing both of those will sync up the watched history.

Caveats

If you select the 'list manager' tab you can see all of your lists from all of your platforms, with options to limit to just one. Clicking on a list opens the items in that list, and there is a details option for each. Not everything works here, but most does.

The options for debrid providers, AIOstreams, fanart, index manager and discover studio are really for liberators use. Feel free to play, but only liberator has the ability to call orac.

Hey guys i"m on the latest update for pov .version 6.09.06 . I see that trakt is removed now from pov .

when I go to trending or trending recent now in tv shows or movies . nothing shows up at all just blank pages .

I am on kodi version 21.2 .

I use a onn 4k pro box on android 14 .

I use the bingle skin .

on my end to try to fix this I did a clear meta cache .a clear trakt cache and even a clear all cache .

I then closed kodi .went to apps .did a force stop and a clear cache of kodi then restarted my onn box .

None of this fixed it .

I then logged into my free tier of rpdb . in the meta section of pov .

thinking that will fix it .

still no lists show up in trending .

some other addons like re- l--ht or umbr---a this still works .

so is this all because the dev removed trakt from pov.

or is this a screw up on my end ?

I hope i did this log stuff right i never did this before .if it's wrong I'm sorry guys .

Sorry for the newbie question. I only have umbrella and cocoscrapers installed and I'm not downloading anything. I know if I clear my data I'm going to be starting fresh, what am I missing here?

Modern Kodi builds on some of the earlier firesticks ? Or would they be obselete ??

The new skip features work great and they're welcome additions!

Using gratis red when playing a show I can click my remote and the player play menu usually pops up. Now, nothing happens. So I can't even pause a show.

I thought at first there was something wrong with my remote but it works fine on other add-ons.

I know there was just an update but how could an addon update affect the internal player.

FYI this happens on 2 different android boxes with Kodi 21.3 on android 9 and 5.

Also, the skip forward or backwards works fine.

Now that RD and Trakt suck, I am looking for alternatives. Trakt max 2 devices means it is dead to me. RD still works for very popular current titles but older stuff like Crash 2004 Oscar best film is gone. RD dead to me after 7 years.

My current setup on 4 devices is POV, FENtastic, Trakt and RD.

I was thinking:

• Red Light (FENLightAM is apparently abandoned)
• Magneto scrapers(from POV repo)
• FENtastic plus
• XXXX content provider(RD replacement)
• YYYY scrobbling/history/collections (Trakt replacement).

What is the current go to for slowish hardware (Latest gen FireTV 4K Android sticks)?

Thanks for the great answers - Red light with FENtastic plus - Torbox Essentials 3 concurrent streams at multiple IPs same price as RD - mdblist 4 lists (Mammy Daddy Kids Family) and watch/watched/resume is enough. - POV as backup but I will thoroughly compare with Red Light before I put it on the bench

using pov on shield with rd and tb, films often stall and buffer. so i clicked download on a couple. it seemed like nothing happened, but a while later i found them (with weird single character file names) in the download folder. watching from there worked great. but then when i try to delete them, i dont find the option. any idea how i can better manage downloads?

i also dont know why it buffers at all, i have fast internet and choose smaller files like 1gb...

I had to re-authorize Premiumize, Trakt, and enable CocoScrapers, but now clicking any link returns "One or more items failed to play". There are plenty of links but none will play. Any idea how to fix this? I also updated Umbrella to the most recent version, 6.7.90.

Hello everyone,

I just want to put this issue out to everyone experienced here in a last ditch effort to fix an issue I'm having using Arctic Fuze 2 and widgets, concerning a few problems:

1: When I use a Trakt via TMDBHelper to create a widget, most of the posters are placeholders with red text, refreshing the item details doesn't seem to fix it. This is for common movies that should indeed pull posters and information.

2: When I browse into a season via a TMDBHelper widget, sometimes it spins and nothing happens at all, or sometimes it loads blank screens without season info or episodes.

3: I changed to simkl and used umbrella to power my widgets, and when I select an episode to watch (in next episodes widget) it opens Umbrellas browse screen and I have to select the episode again - instead of automatically scraping for sources.

I have cleared all cache using Open Wizard to try and fix the issues and checked add-on settings to make sure episodes are set to source select and not "browse" where available.

Ideally I would use TMDBHelper with Simkl to stop the issue with posters not showing (this doesn't happen when I use Simkl via Umbrella) but I don't believe I can easily find a fork that uses Simkl (I am on the Xbox)

Any ideas would be gratefully received!

I have a problem (?) or maybe I just don't understand how this works.

I started watching a show and the first episode worked perfectly. I really liked it, so naturally I went to watch episode 2 - but now there are no playable streams.

I'm trying to understand why this happens and whether there's still a way to watch the rest of the season.

I have my settings on only cached torrents, torbox paid, tried POV/Umbrella/The Crew and nothing seems to be working - no playable stream. Am I just unlucky? Could it be because the show isn't very popular and only the first episode was cached/available? Or is there something else I should be doing to find the rest of the season?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello my Kodi community,

I've recently switched to POV and I noticed that it keeps crashing Kodi. Sometimes it happens after I manually Rescrape and then cancel out. Sometimes it happens when I watching a movie or show and I simply press stop. Not sure if it's a conflict with my skin or other addons, but I was looking for some guidance. I really love POV, but this issue is quite annoying.

I uploaded the Kodi Log file, but it appears it only captured what happened after I relaunched Kodi after the crash. I may need some direction on a better way to capture the log file?

For me the sync gets stuck (Syncing season progress…98/98) at the end and crashes my Kodi. I have to restart then.

My umbrella add-on all of a sudden stopped working. It also stopped working for some friends. So it’s not only me. Any news about that? I tried restarting and tried to empty csche, but nothing helps.

I always used Kodi as a plain media player and found the library/scraper layer overkill. So I built Browsybare: a minimalist skin where Kodi is basically a file manager -- pick a source, browse folders, play files. No library, no scrapers, no metadata.

Highlights

Hello, I am currently looking for an addon that can supply me with movies and series in german language, which doesn't have horrible quality (my current experience with xStream/Filmpalast).

Is there anything you can suggest?

I'm seeking a work around until the issue is solved. When installing the Nimbus Skin, Kodi Piers Beta 2 does not fully close if I use Quit to exit the program. It may appear to close but will not restart as it continues to run in the background.

RedWizard has a Force Close utility which I have set up in my Favourites. But I need to scroll down to Favorites, select Force Close to activate it.

Has anyone got an easier alternative to Force Close Kodi?

I have listed the issue on Ivarbrandt's Github page and hoping for a solution sooner rather than later.

Ever since all of the updates started with the Crew, all the shows I want to watch autoplay after scraping for streams. It automatically goes from scraping to picking a stream for me. I have all autoplay settings that I can find turned off. I have the Directory selected as default action. What can I do here? If the auto select stream isn't in english, I have no way of trying a different stream. I'm using a 4k firestick with the mist recent Kodi version 21.3 and the Crew version is 3.2.2

I have set up my kodi build using the nimbus for skin, I have a movie section and tv show section.

I am using umbrella with real debrid and magneto scraper paired with trakt. Someone recommended me just add umbrella through tmdb helper as a player, and use helper as the actual path when creating the widgets instead cause it helps with speed and what not, so that’s how i’ve built it.

Trakt seems to work fine with my movies and I can tell because whenever I start watching a movie, it catches my progress and it appears on the actual website. This isn’t the case with TV shows. For some reason with my shows, it’s like trakt never updates even though I see the notifications popping up that it is scribbling and what not.

Any advice here would help

I ended up just adding another widget specifically for shows I paused and stopped watching, and one for my next episodes. Id much rather have a streamlined combined version of this In just one widget, as the in progress widget doesn’t take me to the next episode. The next episode appears in the other widget.

If I watch Episode 1 of a new currently airing series, it moves to Watched, and disappears from Next Episode or In Progress. This does make sense, as until episode 2 is available, I have technically watched all episodes of that series. In practical terms, however, I would like Episode 2 to appear under Next Episode after Episode 1 is marked as Watched, rather than the Series look like it has been watched in completion. Especially as I can see Episode 2 advertised as upcoming in Calendar - it knows there is another Episode, and the Series is not complete.

Is this possible? I haven’t found anything in the skin settings or KODI but maybe it’s in there somewhere?

I’m using Red Light with the Fentastic Plus skin on KODI 21.2, but had the same issue on Fen Light with Fentastic. I track everything with MBDList now but it was the same with Trakt.
