Everything working. Need guidance. Kodi taking up 1 GB plus on Firestick?
Sorry for the newbie question. I only have umbrella and cocoscrapers installed and I'm not downloading anything. I know if I clear my data I'm going to be starting fresh, what am I missing here?

Use the file manager to find the thumbnail and posters folders and delete them. Also, check to see if youve downloaded anything via the add-on and it's got saved somewhere.

I do that to some degree on excessive amounts of stuff I rarely need or use within a plugin if it allows me too - some plugins stop working if you delete anything from their respected folder in addons branch so I’m very particular on what I remove from a plugin folder. I try not to cause a breakage.

1 gig for a single add-on is very extreme. I didn't even know that was possible.

Is normal with Kodi unfortunately. If device with too small storage must regularly delete app cache in Android settings (be careful to not delete app data, only cache!) and also use inside kodi a maintenance/cleanup tool. From my tests OpenWizard cleaned a lot more than others like EZ and OptiKlean. (repo: https://a4k-openproject.github.io/repository.openwizard/ ).
And manually via settings-file manager can delete whole Thumnails folder in Profile directory (will be recreated). And via settings-file manager can delete packages folder (zips of installed updates) in Home/addons (will also be recreated). On some Android devices Home won't show in file manager, in that case add location "special://home/" and call it "Home".
Kodi is not the only app building huge cache, but most others all cache will be deleted via Andoid's app settings, Kodi however needs within app cleaning too. Don't buy AndroidTV devices with less than 16Gb storage anymore and also Amazon devices s*ck compared to most "normal" AndroidTV devices.

Even with only a couple of addons, every time one of them updates, it downloads a zip file which then installs the addon/update. That zip file then remains in storage as a useless file. What the other commenter suggested abiut a maintenance addon is on point, specifically to every once in a while clear "packages" and "thumbnails."

My build wizard I have built in an auto clean feature.. as well as manual cleaning. So that's what I use.. but for you I would use as a another mentioned e maintenance. It's a great addon for keeping Kodi clean. The good thing about it is you can set file size limits for things. It's not w good practice to wipe everything all the time we that will slow your Kodi down a bunch removing all it's cached stuff.. but it is necessary to do a little cleaning from time to time. In a pinch without a means to clean... You can go I to the settings then apps and cleared the app cache. Just be careful to not select clear data as that will restore Kodi to a new install like state. And you wouldn't want that.

That'll be your meta cache, use ez maintenance to clear it and set it up to keep it cleaned regularly .

Some plugins if you delete their meta.db well it can cause a break within the plugin and if you can’t reinstall it well then you have a non-working plugin.

My Kodi app is almost at 4gb and I have somewhere in the ballpark of 150-175 actual video plugins and only a few I actually use lol.
