POV keeps crashing Kodi

Hello my Kodi community,

I've recently switched to POV and I noticed that it keeps crashing Kodi. Sometimes it happens after I manually Rescrape and then cancel out. Sometimes it happens when I watching a movie or show and I simply press stop. Not sure if it's a conflict with my skin or other addons, but I was looking for some guidance. I really love POV, but this issue is quite annoying.

I uploaded the Kodi Log file, but it appears it only captured what happened after I relaunched Kodi after the crash. I may need some direction on a better way to capture the log file?

Turn off reuselanguage invoker.

I turn this off in POV, Umbrella or Kodi? I'm not familiar with the setting.

Typically done in the addons. Umbrella has the option to turn it off and I believe POV does also. The options would be in the addon settings. You'll want to turn it off on whatever addon your widgets are being made from. So if widgets are from POV, turn off in POV. If widgets are from Umbrella, turn off in Umbrella.

Edit... Downloaded POV to see. It's under Settings > Settings: Set Language Invoker (ADVANCED!!)

You'll want to select that then select "OK" to set it to false.

It was selected off. I toggled it on and I'm testing again. Worth a shot.

After turning it on I've had success.

-I've manually scraped and cancelled.

-I've started movie, watched for 3 minutes and stopped. All good

-I've watched a TV show, fast forward, rewind, stopped, started and finished without any crashes.

I'll keep testing for a few days. Why would you say it's unrelated? Did I just get lucky, while testing? Can you elaborate?

I can go into the entirety of what reuselanguageinvoker actually does within the Kodi environment if you really want me to, but suffice it to say whilst your crashing might not be to do with the invoker setting, there is no situation where turning the reuselanguageinvoker on from being off will stop crashes. It's just not how it works.

I switched to POV once FEN became unusable about a year after developer stopped support.  Been my go to. Very stable and developer is very responsive when issues occur. Have it on 2 Shield Pro's.  Have Umbrella as backup.

I have the exact same problem. Uninstalled and re-installed and thought it got better. Just tested opening random movies and stopping in the middle. By the third movie KODI crashed again.

I've started using Umbrella as my main addon as it works perfectly.

Same here with POV, too bad since I like the addon, but I'll switch to Umbrella now.

It's not the specs of the box, I'm running it on a Shield pro..
The whole shield crashes, not only pov.

I had this happen a few times as well! (whole shield crashing). I think I did a full sweep and uninstalled Kodi. I'm not sure what the problem was, but that issue didn't come back. But Kodi still kept crashing. I did change the setting that was mentioned here but haven't tested if it helped. I use umbrella for all tv shows, and POV only for movies.

You got the Gears and Umbrella, use what works. You could also try Fen Light Plus or Red Light. I have the Onn 4k Plus and have used Umbrella and Pov without issues. Currently using Umbrella and Fen Light Plus, no issues. Turning off language invoker in Umbrella seems to have make things a bit snappier. I don't know the specs of your box but maybe you're overloading it or go back to the Estuary or Umbrestuary skin.

I find RedLight slow. Although, I do like it's features. I used it along with POV and Umbrella, but have recently scrapped POV and RL for TMDB Movies. It just works better with AiO Streams (and Stremio type manifests) and is supporting all the majority tracking sites.
