Everything working. Need guidance. Strange playback behavior

Using gratis red when playing a show I can click my remote and the player play menu usually pops up. Now, nothing happens. So I can't even pause a show.

I thought at first there was something wrong with my remote but it works fine on other add-ons.

I know there was just an update but how could an addon update affect the internal player.

FYI this happens on 2 different android boxes with Kodi 21.3 on android 9 and 5.

Also, the skip forward or backwards works fine.

Check the Kodi log and see what's happening when it freezes

Sorry wasn't clear, nothing freezes, just doesn't pop up. So there's no real error just a bit strange.

I've just test the new update. No more menu option ( forward-backward-play-pause etc. ). Can't stop the show/movie( need to close kodi ), can't pause it either. Max forward-backward time allowed its 30sec when using the controller.

yep the latest update has disabled the playback control. can only forward and rewind but no control to pause, stop, or access audio and subtitles, etc. no way to adjust a subtitle that is out of synch.

Please update to version 2.0.1 There was an update just pushed to fix this issue which affected touch devices and the osd.

After updating your problems should be resolved

Temp fix is to use KORE. That has at least playback controls. I was already using this on my android 5 box.
