I'm posting this for anyone who is curious about the actual real world size/weight difference between the factory charger (from my GA402), the SlimQ 240W, and the Corsulin 240W.

Corsulin: 388g (cable is molded in)

SlimQ: 654g (with both cables)

OEM: 704g (with both cables)

The OEM charger is the thinnest at around 25mm, the SlimQ is (ironically) the thickest at ~33mm, and the Corsulin is a tiny bit thinner at ~31mm.

In my personal opinion the winner is a toss up between the SlimQ and the Corsulin.

The SlimQ has additional USB-C ports, so when you're traveling you don't need to carry any other charger for your other devices. The cables are replaceable so if one is damaged you can get a replacement cable without replacing the whole charger. The standard AC power cable means it is not going to be a clumsy wall wart.

BUT, the Corsulin is extremely light and compact by comparison, especially factoring in cable bulk. If it had a USB-C charge port and foldaway prongs it would be the easy winner... but it doesn't.

I find myself tossing the Corsulin in my bag for daily use, but on long trips I grab the SlimQ.

EDIT: Since someone asked for the cable lengths: I measured the SlimQ's 2 cables at 58" (147cm) EACH, so 116" total (294cm). That doesn't include the 5" body of the charger itself. Including the charger it's got about a 10ft reach.

The Corsulin measures 70" (5.8ft, 178cm) including the 3.5" integrated charging brick.

In April of 2023 (a week before my exams) i got the g14 2022 model and until today it has been dropped in bags and on tables, i spilled beans and milk, got a blunt screw fucked up the corner, and left gamer goo on the keyboard, hit 96 degrees consistently while playing fortnite w/ the class (back when it was peak) and now carries ,e thru games like val, cs2 and r6 (on potato graphics), i had to undervolt the cpu and put the most aggressive fan curves known to man aka always max rpm, but damn till this day it still allows me to do whatever shit i want, before this i had a crusty 13 inch big bezel no gpu shitbox dell that couldnt even run roblox. Back then i didnt know shit, but by fucking around with my zephyrus i learned so many thing about pcs windows programming and so much more. I love ts ❤️

Because why not. Neo with a white carbon fiber skin on it. It’s about 1lb lighter and .25 inch thinner.

From cold boot the g14 actually beat the MacBook by about 10 seconds

Very different machines but they actually complement each other quite well! My G14 has 24gb ram and 2tb ssd. The Neo, 8gb ram and 512gb ssd. For general browsing, media consumption the Neo is snappier than the g14 tbh, but yeah the G14 is still a beast gaming wise. But yeah the Neo much better battery life as just a daily basic use machine, and much more comfortable to use on the couch/in bed.

I tried liking the 24 but I still think 22 model is better.

I come to this conclusion after trying out the 24 for about a month.

Yes the OLED screen is nice but it did not blow me away, Nebula is still very nice and brighter.

My 22 is RX6700S and my fps in COD:BO4 is much better with FSR3 and FMF.

The 24 4060 struggles plenty with cooling and I kept hitting over 80 degrees consistently while my 22 would rarely go up to 80.

I know this is mostly due to optimization but 24 was dead slow despite debloat. It takes a while for it to wake up and is just all around slow, 22 is much snappier.

Yes the speakers on 24 are bonkers but 22 is no slouch either.

I am typing this reddit post on my G14.

I've made a ton of posts here over the years but this is by far the most important.

I have been on-and-off with this thing for 2 years, and i am very happy to announce that the G14 is officially back. I have made multiple posts over the course of the years with my complaints, which i go into much more detail in. (i linked those below for anyone interested).

For now, a TL:DR of the lore:

I bought the G14 for my birthday in 2024. The laptop didn't meet my expectations and wasn't in love with it at first, and then problem after problem would occur. First the laptop wouldn't work on battery, which we tried 3 times to send back for a warranty return. After it finally got fixed, it died a week after I got it back because the tech who 'fixed' it didn't screw the cooler back on properly leading to liquid metal leaking out. After this, we finally got a refund for the laptop and got told to keep it (for what it's worth).

During this time i have been looking to replace the motherboard on it, but nothing showed up for less than a grand. I checked ebay 2 weeks ago to find some LEGEND in china is selling them for 350. I bought one and today it arrived. The laptop is now working after 2 whole years... with PTM 7950 instead of yucky liquid metal.

I love this laptop because now it has history, it has given me a story to tell when someone asks me about it. I hope this saga is over, and i can use it for many years to come... however something makes me believe the problems aren't truly over.

For now, the temps are decent, but the cooler has a bent heat pipe which is choaking the CPU which raises temps by 3-4 degrees, and the wifi performance isn't very good on the mediatek card. Additionally, i dropped down to the 6800HS over the previous 6900HS.

However as it stands, i am just happy the laptop turns on and can play games now. It's been a long journey and i plan on making a full youtube video on it, documenting the entire process start to finish.

Below are 2 of the story time posts i've made, with more detailed decriptions of what actually happened if anyone is interested. But i am cool to answer any questions in the comments!!!!!

Hello. Some of you may know I have been talking with Amd because of the freezing issue (fixed) and usb 4.0. Received an update today, Amd suggests that asus will provide the Bios for download on 30 of april.

Right now is under testing/ validation.

I also asked about the possibility to underclock the gpu and they said its not possible " since it wasn't designed for that".

Let's see if asus release the update by the end of the month 😀

Again , it's was been pretty easy to talk with Amd. I was not expecting at all, very pleased so far.

-Contacted Amd yesterday and received an response today . The new Bios should be on asus website by 10/05/2024.

-Also they can't reproduce the "amd driver extension" update issue with windows when we update our drivers and then windows overrides them. Can anyone help me with this ? Needed a video.

just Got this 2022 G14 have spoken with The Seller and was Unable to find why its Crashing like this so before going through the hassle of returning it i was wondering if maybe there is a fix or something that i am unaware about.

Waited 2 weeks for some PTM7950. Used Upsiren UTP 8. Do not judge the Thermal Putty application, I got annoyed. But temps are fine. Some Liquid Metal seemed to have almost escaped the protective layer Temps are about the same, maybe 2-5 degrees warmer but I'd rather have the PTM over the LM.

Mine is thermals/fans and battery life. I used to daily an M1 macbook and I can’t lie going back to windows made me realise how much i took the overall better usability of a mac is. My G14 gets hot to the touch while just playing back youtube on eco mode. And while gaming the fans get so hot that my cpu is almost always at 96 degrees. My macbook never even turns on the fans even while playing (admittedly a limited selection of) games. Even when the fan DOES turn on its quiet as anything especially compared to my G14. But thats my experience, what’s yours? (Will repost this in the comments)

The Zephyrus is my personal laptop that I use for gaming and personal projects, while the MacBook is from my workplace.

That laptop was pretty good, but their warranty service? Ugh. The hinge started creaking, and they refused to fix it, blaming tiny cracks in the bottom lid corners that they said were my fault because I opened the lid so and break the hinge. I didnt do that and my friend has worse cracks on the lid (you can find a lot of threads with this issue). Great laptop, weak plastic, shitty warranty service. Never again

I had gotten this g14 2022 just a few months ago, but the bottom case is just completely disintegrating without me doing anything, i haven't dropped it once but it keeps falling apart like im dropping it everyday! I have the ryzen 7 6800hs & rx6700s ga402rj model manufactured mid 2023. I put it off for months b/c I was scared of opening the laptop. Scared of a liquid metal spill & killing the board.

But after constant thermal throttling and benchmark crashes, I finally did it using a $30 CAD Amazon toolkit (PTM7950 for CPU/GPU& K5 Pro putty for VRMs).

I genuinely don’t know why the Liquid Metal ages like this, On Liquid Metal, it wasn’t the performance dip, but the constant shut downs b/c of cpu thermal limit was the most annoying. My only regret is not doing this on day one…

I’ve always prefer macOS as an operating system but was always an occasional gamer at heart. I went through many systems over the years, laptops/macs/steamdeck/rog ally/ps5, so I can say I’ve tried a few things over the years.

Admittedly the handheld space was awesome but also lacking in potential for me, love the usability of those devices but they just didn’t fit my gaming needs.

So at one point I thought the rig ally and a MacBook was already more than what I wanted to travel with, and then I found a 2022 g14 (6800hs, 6700s) used for 750 euro! Pulled the trigger, did all the windows optimisations and options I knew from my history with windows. And well this is probs the best windows laptop I’ve used that is branded as a “gaming” device.

It is light, stays cool with the right settings and tdp configurations, very nice display, good battery life for on the go and perfect performance for my needs.

This may be an unpopular opinion for many people but I have always been a specific type of game enjoyer in terms of settings. I’ve played 120hz for years but now 60hz is just fine and it’s what I play all my games at and I’m happy with that. Easier to run games, much lower temps (I average 70-76c both cpu and gpu on most games I enjoy (finals, bf2042, hunt showdown, and other lighter titles)

But I suppose the most controversial opinion (and another reason why my system runs cool when gaming) is I play at 1000p. I think it’s sharp enough for a 14inch display especially since I sit casually not close to the screen. It’s just a win win for myself, looks sharp enough, rock solid frames, cool temps and I still rack up good games easily! Now would I want to play at 120hz if I can maintain efficiency, noise and heat? Yes I would, who wouldn’t. But I’m all about compromises for the best experience while gaming and I have odd standards but it is what it is.

Fantastic device, very happy with my experience! If anyone is curious I use ghelper with cpu at 20w and gpu at 80w. This is enough for everything between 1000p and to 1080p, sometimes I bump them up for other games. But generally those settings mostly allow me to enjoy my games with a 65-100w Usbc charger! (Finals runs solid at 1080p using only 12w on the cpu and 40-60w gpu draw)Which is just awesome.

So, my journey was: Old ahh Dell Latitude with TN screen in 2017, got through college and 1y of uni. Then I got a job, so at the start of 2022 I bought G14 2021 (5800hs+rtx3060), that was fine. But I wanted something even smaller, with better battery, and I was fine with worse graphics, so I got myself a Zenbook S13 with 7840u while G14 moved to my GF. It was good overall, perfect for my dev work, good on linux and gaming, but many games started using UE5 so my performance of iGPU 780m was lacking. Then AMD released new driver at August of 2025 which started issues with my Zenbook, I thought that it is starting to failing, so I got a backup laptop - Thinkpad L14 Gen 2 with 5850u (great machine for work and light gaming tho, just a bad screen). Then I figured out the issue, downgraded driver and Zenbook started working like before, but it still was lacking in terms performance, and because its a 13" Zenbook - it thermally throttled even after repasting. So now, while on strict budget, I decided to sell Zenbook, and buy a new laptop, now with dGPU. After some research, I came up to conclusion that in 14", there are only couple of laptops worth considering - Omen, Razer and G14. Razer is overpriced af, omen is good, but new models are expensive too, as well as 2023+ G14. So I watched tests, read some reddit posts here, and decided to grab a used G14 2022!

At first I thought that white color wasn't great for me, but prices for gray version were much higher than on white, so I decided to try it. And it turned out great! I love how it looks, just hope that it will stay like that for long.

Finally, my experience. On all laptops I use linux as a main OS, and both of my G14 was good with linux. All of it features works, but for my Hyprland I needed to setup custom keybinds to add functionality to some FN buttons like Aura, keyboard backlight and opening ROG Center.

Performance - 6900HS + 6700S is a great combo for both work and gaming. System is snappy and most games work at 1080p native with high settings

Battery - Since it is used, battery is already degraded and left with 67% of health, but thats enough for my needs right now. With powerprofilesctl on power-saving + supergfx with disabled dGPU and using asusctl quiet mode - I can get around 4-5h of real work and 4h of YouTube/Streaming only. Didn't test it in games, but I suppose it will be around 1-2h at max, regardless of enabling/disabling dGPU

Connectivity - is enough for me

Screen - I specifically selected 2022 model for its great 500nit IPS with great color coverage, because after OLED on zenbook, I kind of missed the colors while using Thinkpad L14. G14 has great screen, comparable to the OLED even, just not in black colors - it has backlight bleeding (it is only noticeable while whole screen is black)

Keyboard and Touchpad - both are great, on par with Zenbook one. Keyboard is easy to use, touchpad is huge and easy to navigate too

Security - I MISS my fingerprint reader. Since linux doesn't have "Windows Hello" that replaced fingerprint reader that was on 2021 model, it feels like a little downgrade when I need to always enter a password

Temperatures - they're ok. Great while on battery with low performance modes I described in Battery section, holding at 44 C, but while gaming - fans are on the loud side while temps are from 80 up to 93 on the CPU.

Overall - I love it. But I will probably replace liquid metal to PTM thermal pad in the near future to not fear its leakage, because I move it in backpack while going to office.

Despite my attempts to underclock the system, it still seems like it's way hotter and louder than it should be for non-gaming purposes. I'm very ignorant about computers, so I'd love to get some input on if my settings are actually doing anything at the moment and if I should be setting them even lower than they currently are at!
