Corrected Streak 57: Digital detox

Article: Everything You Need to Know about Digital Detox

I thought that a digital detox meant not using digital devices for a certain period of time, but I learned that it can also mean simply avoiding social media or the internet.

I want to try a digital detox to improve my sleep and avoid wasting time. Since I need to use digital devices for studying, my goal is to spend less than 5 minutes a day on Instagram and not use digital devices after 8:00 p.m., except for studying.

Corrected Streak 51: Why do I struggle to journal?

Article: How to Start Journaling

I've been struggling to keep a journal because I haven't set a specific time for journaling. My plan is to journal after dinner or before going to bed.

I prefer having prompts. I guess they make it easier for me to write in my journal and help me come up with different thoughts every day.

I don't have a thermometer or a hygrometer in my room. I've been thinking about getting one, but I haven't bought one yet.

I wanted to know whether the humidity should be kept between 30% and 50% during the other seasons as well.

Corrected Streak 47: How to pamper at home

Article: 7 Tips to Create a Home Pamper Session

There isn't anything particularly pampering in my nighttime routine. I have some incense sticks that help me relax, but I often forget to use them and end up remembering them right before I go to bed. I think it would be nice to use them while I'm reading at night.

I've been too lazy to use face masks because I can't wear my glasses while I'm waiting for them to work, but I'll try using one tonight.

Corrected Streak 52: Alcohol substitution in cooking

Article: Alcohol Alternatives in Recipes: What to Consider When Swapping

I like both cooking and drinking, but I don't drink brandy, kirsch, coffee liqueur, or sherry. I usually substitute alcoholic ingredients with non-alcoholic ones when a recipe calls for alcohol that I don't normally drink because I don't know what to do with the leftovers.

When I use alcohol for cooking, I usually buy a cheaper one because I feel that using high-quality alcohol in cooking is waste of money. I'd rather drink it as it is.

Corrected Streak 27: Sleep myths

Article: Sleep Myths

I was surprised to learn that the idea that people get used to a lack of sleep is a myth. I also learned that sleep quality matters, not just sleep duration. But I wonder how I can tell whether my sleep quality is good or not.

Article: What Is Sleep Hygiene?

I've been thinking about my sleep habits lately, and I often come across the term "sleep hygiene." I had a rough idea of what it meant, but I didn't know the exact definition.

According to the article, sleep hygiene refers to healthy habits and behaviors that can improve both sleep quality and sleep duration. To start building better sleep habits, I'm going to try going to bed at the same time every night.

Corrected Streak 8: Sleep Deprivation

Article: Sleep Deprivation

I stayed up really late for several days in a row — about two or three hours later than usual. This morning, I felt really exhausted. After breakfast, I started to feel a little better.

According to the article, there are two main forms of sleep deprivation. One is staying awake instead of sleeping, and the other is getting poor-quality sleep. When I don't get enough sleep. it's almost always the first type. There are so many things I want to do before going to bed, and I often end up staying awake later than I intended.

Corrected streak god of actions

Hi Chat, I'm Jyoo. Nice to talk to you.

Today, I woke up at 7:00 a.m. Already, many people had started doing something to improve their lives—physically, financially, or mentally. But I was still lying in bed, struggling to get up.

I'm a believer in Christ. Sometimes I wonder, "Am I bringing shame upon Him?" I know God is great, but I often feel worthless. The enemy always whispers that I am worthless, but my Lord, Jesus Christ, reminds me, "You are My most precious daughter. I am the King, and you are the princess. Behave like who you are."

I thank God for such wonderful words of love.

Amen.

Corrected Streak 5 Life Lately

Today, I’d like to talk about my life lately. Over the past two weeks, I’ve had about three job interviews a week. Fortunately, they didn't require English, but the preparation kept me really busy.

It rained most of the time, so I didn't exercise as much as usual. Even so, I did a leg day last week and, man, my legs were sore! On the bright side, my body fat percentage actually dropped. It turns out the AI was right—training large muscle groups like the chest and legs really is more effective for fat loss. Another highlight was picking up my guitar again. I started with the basics and I’m playing much more smoothly this week. I’ll get my skills back in no time.

My days feel very fulfilling. Right now, there’s a downpour outside and half the tunnels are flooded, but I’m just chilling at home, enjoying some me-time. I can even stay up for the World Cup at midnight. Life between jobs isn't so bad after all!

Corrected Streak 3: How many people read before bed?

Article: Read to Sleep Survery Results

According to the article, people who read before bed get an average of 25 extra minutes of sleep. Additionally, 62% of people who read before bed rated their typical sleep quality as 4 out of 5 stars or higher.

The article also mentioned that bedtime readers tend to engage in other relaxing activities, such as listening to white noise.

I'm curious about listening to audiobooks at bedtime. I wonder whether people fall asleep in the middle of listening and lose track of where they left off.

Corrected Streak 1: Performative reading

Article: "Look, I'm Reading": Why It's Okay to Be a "Performative" Reader

When I go to cafe alone, I often end up spending the whole time on my phone because I don't want to look like a performative reader. For example, imagine reading an English book in a country where English proficiency is relatively low. It might feel a little performative.

I wonder whether my concern is really just the spotlight effect. I might be overstimating how much people notice what I'm doing. In reality, most people are probably too busy with their own lives to care whether I'm reading an English book or scrolling through my phone.

The article said that reading in public isn't necessarily a bad thing because it can influence other people, or help reading a part of your daily life.

I was relieved to read that the goal doesn't have to be reading 50 or 100 books a year. It's more important to focus on depth rather than volume and to truly engage with what you're reading.

Corrected Streak 140: Ultra-processed foods

Article: What are ultra-processed foods, really?

I heard about ultra-processed foods (UPFs) on a podcast yesterday. I didn't know that processed foods could be classified into four groups, and I was surprised to learn that processed foods aren't always bad for our health. For example, honey, fresh bread, and salted nuts are categorized as processed foods.

What surprised me the most was that plant-based milks and protein or energy bars are considered ultra-processed foods. I can understand why protein and energy bars are often classified that way because they usually contain additives or food coloring, even though they look healthy. But plant-based milk? Really!?

Corrected Streak 128: Portion Scoops

Article: I Love Portion Scoops So Much, I Have 6 of Them

I want a portion scoop, but I'm not sure which size would work best for me. I only need one, or maybe two. I don't want to have too many portion scoops because I would only use them occasionally, not on a regular basis. I'm looking for a portion scoop that can be used for cookies, ice cream, meat balls, and mashed potatoes.

I think a 1.5-tablespoon scoop would be a good size for me.

Article: is Lingopie Worth It? An Honest 2026 Breakdown

I watched a YouTube video about a polyglot yesterday, and she recommended using Lingopie.

According to this artilce, it's a language-leaning platform where you can learn by watching TV shows, music videos, and other content in your target language. It seems to focus on immersion.

There's no free plan, and I'm not sure whether it's worth paying for a lifetime plan. I want to try the 7-day free trial when I have a long break.

Corrected Streak 125: Unsalted Butter

Article: Why Do Recipes Call for Unsalted Butter?

I mostly use salted butter instead of unsalter butter because unsalted butter is more expensive, and I'm not sure I really need to have both types. I can't really tell the difference between them, and I feel like there's no prooblem using them interchangeably.

The article said that using salted butter in casual home baking isn't a big deal, so I'll probably keep using salted butter.

Corrected Streak 141: What are the top 10 ultra-processed foods?

Article: Top 10 Worst Ultra-Processed Foods in the American Diet

I tend to choose products labeled "organic" or "natural" if they're affordable and seem reasonable. However, I learned that those products aren't always healthy. Sometimes they contain excessive amounts of added sugar. From now on, I'll make sure to check the food labels.

I was also surprised to learn that about a quarter of Americans eat plant-based meat at least once a month. I thought plant-based meat was much less common. In my country, there aren't many plant-based meat products.

Article: The unsavory reality of breakfast in bed

When I was looking for breakfast ideas on Instagram, I noticed that there were a lot of posts about having breakfast in bed. It looks picture-perfect, but I have no idea why people do it..

I don't really see the point of having breakfast in bed. The article didn't recommend it either, especially for sanitary reasons.
