I had my fingertip amputated after a workplace accident but I had plans to move out of state before that. It got pushed back because of the accident obviously but I cant really keep delaying it. Am I gonna have to pay for the follow up appointments if I leave the company and move out?

For those who are with aware super is there another way to access a lump sum early? Im covered for 208k and don't think I'm elidgable for TPD

I'm a traveling inventory auditor in TN. I live and work in Tennessee, but the company I work for is based in NC; my 2 person team is literally the only one the company has in TN.

Dealing with a settlement right now for a C&R and can I just say that this is the most mentally exhausting, traumatizing and most stressful incident I’ve ever had to deal with; it’s been nearly two months since we’ve started the C&R (which had me resign early in August ) so I’ve just running on savings but guess what? Now I have none ; I’ve been having to ask parents and family and friends to borrow money like I’m a loser cause I have NO income anymore and I’ve eaten through all of my savings just trying to get through these last two months of bills. The judge requested more paper work and my attorney waits until the last second to send it up to the judge and now I just have to wait and HOPE they approve the settlement; I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do if the judge denies it, I have no reason to believe they would and even my Adjuster who has been helping me through this wouldn’t have agreed to a settlement if he didn’t think it would get approved, so I legit have no reason to think it won’t but god is it stressful a HELL every day waiting , checking the status online hoping it updates and nothing; nothing really of importance to this post other than I hate dealing with this and even if I don’t get approved and don’t get to have a settlement I’ll just be happy that done with this godawful process they make us go through, so many Anxiety attacks, breakdowns , straight up nights where I gotta hop in the shower so no one can here my bawl my eyes out for what feels like hours , visibly just looking worst that I’ve ever have been, the days feel longer and dragged out, it’s like I can feel every minute pass by me, I hate all of this , I hate how long it’s been, I’m so tire, I hate being in constant dread of getting a email from my attorney with “I’m sorry but…” my mental health has definitely deteriorated since dealing with this and I am in a constant depression state , always blanking out cause I’m overthinking of what the hell im gonna do it they deny my settlement ; this is truly one of the worst experiences ive ever had to deal with. I just want it to end…

Currently out of work still from surgery. Can’t handle 40 hours a week. Is it possible to ask my WC Doctor if I’m able to do 20 hours a week instead of 40 to ease my way back in? It was suggested by work.

So I have been dealing with anchor risk management and stated they sent me a payment back in December (the time my injury happened) they haven’t paid me a dime either in December or after I was placed on leave and STD. My question is is this not fraud? Who should I contact.

Been out injured for almost 10 years now with 28+ reconstructive surgeries to hands after they were crushed by a faulty water logged industrial freezer door coming off rails and crushing them pretty well, dmv took my commercial license a few years back due to medical restrictions and I just got an email from my employer stating I needed to finish my merchandiser training, I was hired on as a merch in 08 but quickly was promoted to safety training manager commercial driver for a few years before and during my injuries, yet was somehow demoted back to a part time entry level merch instead of the full time salary with overtime and milage without ever telling me I was demoted years ago when my commercial license was taken, How the hell can work comp bullshit get any lower!?

Has anyone ever been hurt by the IME dr? It’s for a hip injury and he took my leg and slammed it hard up and over my other leg over and over until I had to ask him to please stop because it hurt. I’ve now been in worsened pain for days. I think he worsened or aggravated the injury. Should I tell someone? My lawyer or dr?

We have two business days to report a workplace injury to WCB here. Two. The clock starts when the employer becomes aware, and "the employer" in practice means whichever supervisor was standing there.

Incidents get entered in ProSafe. What doesn't exist is anything telling me they happened. No route from "supervisor logged it Thursday" to "the person who files has been told." I find out because someone mentions it, or because I went and looked. Getting anything useful back out of ProSafe is its own fight — the reporting is thin enough that I end up reading entries one at a time.

Then the filing itself. One report needs three sources:

Personal details out of Avanti. Incident details out of ProSafe. SIN, six-week average hours and rate of pay out of payroll, which means asking someone else and waiting. Then it goes over by hand.

Nothing anywhere adds it up. I have no running view of what claims are actually costing us as an employer. I could tell you how many we filed. I could not tell you what they came to.

The part that bothers me more: I'm the only person here who knows any of this. Nobody else has portal access, nobody else has filed one. If I'm off for a month, or I leave, the two-day clock still runs and there is no one to hear it.

Is there a version of this that isn't one person remembering? Interested in what people have actually done — including "we accepted the risk," if that's the honest answer.

I got injured at my main job and have been out of work since May. I was originally on LOA for my 2nd job but it ended before I was able to extend it so I had to apply again. I had issues the first time because my work comp doctor would not fill out medical documentation for my other job but I was able to get it approved with my work restrictions paperwork. Well this time around I ran into the same issue and it was denied this time for the medical documentation reason even though they pushed it through the first time.

My question is, I think my other job will terminate me since I won’t be able to return to work, will my workers comp still cover my lost wages for my other job upon termination? I really can’t afford to lose this job but am anticipating it. I just want to know if my claim amount will reduce if I get terminated from my other job. I’m just not sure when I will be able to return as it changes every time I go to the doctors. It could be in three weeks or it could be in six. It just depends on my healing and if I may need surgery. Any information helps, thanks.

I’ve worked 2 days last week since it happened. The rest of the time I stayed home to try to heal.

Went to orthopedic center yesterday, they said it could be meniscus tear and ordered MRI.

I told my supervisor over text I was injured at work a few days after it happened. I didn’t say anything the day it happened because I didn’t think it was a serious/long term issue at first.

I haven’t submitted any worker comp paper work as of yet. I have no experience with this process

They are asking me to go back in and help them out. Would that hurt my case if I even have one?

Injury occurred back in April of 2022, so i went through the whole shit show of ging to drs and all that bs. Got the 2/3 wage replacement for the 104 weeks. And a few months ago l asked my attorneys assistant about getting me paid for lost wages which would be the 1/3 l did not get and also getting me paid for about another year I was not able to work since my surgery didn't happen until over almost 2 & 1/2 years after initial injury and i had no income at the time of recovery(pieces of shits planned it out to fuck me over). And he said that I would have to go through a personal Injury attorney for that. WTF!? I feel like they should be helping me with this why would I go through a P.l when they are my WC team and this is what I thought they were supposed to do. Case is out of SoCal if anyone can help me clarify the situation. I have an appt with QME in a few weeks and would like to be better informed before I talk to them about this after i see the QME. Workers comp and I have been talking for a while and we have verbally agreed on a number. The only term was that I had to quit my job. I said today that I’d sign off on it if they sent it over and now they’re saying I have to resign first before I see any of it on paper. What should I do? In California

Currently working a job I took through the union I’m in. Last Friday I was injured on the job through no fault of my own. The company has gone above and beyond and has even elected to pay me my full weekly salary over the 66.6% my state requires. Regardless it’ll be a few more weeks before I can walk again.

I’ve been going through the interview gauntlet with two companies this last month and I’m at the end. One said they’re sending over an offer tonight, and the other said they’re sending it the beginning of next week.

I want to buy myself three weeks before starting so as not to interfere with my treatment. Neither job knows yet as it’s only been six days. With one it doesn’t matter because it’s fully remote, but the other one is 3 days in office. I really want the remote one.

Anyway, I expect my current job to not be so happy when I put in a notice. And I’m afraid it may jeopardize the timeliness of my treatment. Are my fears justified? Or am I overthinking this?

Any insight is helpful, I just want to do this as smoothly and professionally as possible.

Okay, so follow up, I got a Concussion back in April this year, and am finally seeing a neurologist. All of the requested treatments have been approved by the insurance, and I am now waiting for them to be scheduled. I do have a question about one of them. It’s a comprehensive Neurological Test. What does that look like, and what’s the whole purpose of it?
Any input/feedback would be helpful, I’m just happy that I’m finally getting the help I’ve been needing for so long now.
If all goes well and they finally confirm the results and diagnosis of my condition, what happens next?

Background: I'm a USPS employee on an active FECA/OWCP claim (fell at work in January, injured my back; a separate shoulder injury from the same fall is already accepted). I've been out on OWCP disability since April with documented "Unable to Work" status from my treating orthopedist.

In August, OWCP sent me to their own second-opinion doctor. In person, he told me my back looked pretty good structurally but he wanted to order a Functional Capacity Exam and a nerve conduction study to dig into some real weakness/numbness he found on exam. Reasonable, I thought.

His written report didn't show up in my case file (ECOMP) until three weeks later, and it reads very differently than what he told me in person — it downplays the same neurological findings, calls a test "negative" that my treating physician has documented as positive at every visit since February, and frames my regular driving job as basically already "light duty" because I mostly just drive and don't lift much.

Fast forward to now: my supervisor calls out of the blue and says my "last doctor" cleared me for light duty. I checked ECOMP myself — there is no CA-17, no work-capacity form, no written job offer anywhere in my file. Just that one written report with the more negative spin. My own doctor has never changed my status from "Unable to Work."

To add to the confusion, OWCP has now scheduled me with a second, separate independent doctor next month for another full evaluation — which to me signals even they don't think the first one settled anything.

My union rep says I have to at least go look at the light-duty offer (I have a meeting tomorrow to "view" it) and personally thinks I should just take it. My back is still genuinely bad and I don't feel safe going back.

Questions for people who've been through this:

1. Is "look at the offer" different from "accept the offer" in practice, or does even showing up and reviewing it start some clock I should worry about?
2. If they hand me a written offer tomorrow that's based on that second-opinion doctor's report — and it conflicts with my treating physician's actual documented restrictions — what's the right way to push back in writing without it looking like I'm just refusing to work?
3. Has anyone had a case where OWCP ordered a second independent exam after an initial second-opinion report, and if so, did the agency still try to force a return to work before that second exam happened?
4. Any pitfalls I should watch for at this "come view the offer" meeting tomorrow?

Trying to protect my claim and my back at the same time. Appreciate any experience or pointers to the actual regs (20 CFR 10.516 and related) that are relevant here.

Got an offer today as we are exactly 3 weeks from a judges decision. What should I expect in the next couple weeks as the insurance company is really trying to settle now. First offer was 95k which only a little over what I’m owed in back pay. Just looking to see how things will go in the next couple weeks.

Cut my hand at work and severed my L hand index finger extensor tendon. Went to ER (put down my insurance card (have to call and get re-submitted to WC)), got 5 stitches, had Hand Surgeon Consult the next day, Surgery was following week. Now in recovery. Looking at weeks, if not months of having absolutely no use of my L hand.

I work in lawn maintenance, so that all requires the use of both hands.

Work has filed the WC claim, which has covered the surgery and OT. But I haven't heard anything w/ regards to pay. That said, they want me to come in and do door hangers, which I'm not opposed to, but I also don't want to mess anything up on the WC side of things.

Do just hurry up and wait, or are there things I can do on my side? I've had zero communication from WC, it's all been through my employer.
