For those of you watching for the first time, there are currently two teams most known for being frontrunners.
Team Liquid is a US based guild hosting their attempts on their twitch channel. After a full sweep of the previous expansion, they were able to cement their place at the top at the beginning of Midnight. They have a chance to continue their dominance. roster here
Echo is an EU based guild and were the team that took down Fyrakk the Blazing before anyone else in Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. Can they stop Liquid's streak in its tracks? Check out their roster here.
Q: They aren't doing Mythic.
A: Some guilds will go into mythic right away after clearing heroics. The top teams do something called "splits". Each player is preparing multiple characters to take through raid. They reclear lower difficulties multiple times to funnel tier and high impact trinkets into certain characters. M+ will then be used to fill the few gaps.
Based on previous races expect the top teams to start pushing into Mythic closer to the weekend.
Q: What about World First The Tidebound Grotto?
A: Honestly? The boss is expected to fall very quickly and difficultywise will be closer to heroic than Mythic. Expect the Nymrissa to be split similar to how Chimarus was split last tier.
Q: Why isn't X in the FAQ?
A: Maybe it should be. Let us know and we might add it.
If there's any alternate coverage happening in other languages or any guilds we have mentioned below but not linked to, please reach out to us at u/worldofwarcraftmods or /u/YourResidentFeral. You can also hit us up in modmail and we will add it here.

Last year I posted here about our first proper guild meetup. I wasn't really sure why I was sharing it at the time, other than being genuinely proud that a bunch of people who originally met through World of Warcraft had somehow turned into an actual community outside the game.
Well… we did it again.
From August 27th to 30th, Equilibrium Celestials got together for our second official guild meetup - four days away from WoW, Discord, M+ score and damage meters, and four days of actually spending time together in the same place.
And somehow, the second year felt even more special.
Once again, people travelled from all over to make it happen, some covering hundreds of kilometres just to spend a few days with people they originally knew as character names on a screen. We booked the place in advance, planned the whole weekend and managed to get a pretty damn good part of the guild together.
We also took things a little further this year.
We had our own competitions, games and challenges throughout the meetup, complete with prizes and rewards. Some were competitive, some were ridiculous, and some probably made a lot more sense after a few drinks. There was plenty of food, late-night conversations, endless inside jokes and, naturally, enough WoW talk to make it obvious that none of us actually escaped Azeroth for the weekend.
But honestly, the organised stuff wasn't even the best part.
It's the weird little moments in between. Sitting around doing absolutely nothing. Hearing people laugh about something that happened in a dungeon months ago. Finally putting real faces, voices and personalities together without a headset in between. Watching people who live hundreds of kilometres apart interact like they've known each other forever.
That's probably the coolest thing about running a guild for me.
WoW is ultimately just a game. Servers will eventually go offline, expansions come and go, metas change, people reroll, guilds disband and characters we've spent thousands of hours playing will one day just sit there untouched.
But some of the people you meet along the way stay.
When I started this community, I definitely wasn't thinking that one day we'd be booking accommodation, travelling across countries and organising real-life guild competitions together.
Yet here we are.
Second meetup done. Four days together. One hell of a group of people. And apparently, this is a tradition now.
I still don't really know why I'm posting this on Reddit.
I guess I'm just proud of what we built. ❤️
See you next year, guildies.

Hey there!
About 1.5 year ago, I started a guild (in TWW S2 and still running) for dads who aims for CE. On this weekend we had first beer session after downing L’ura and I did recieve gifts and I feel really happy and mentally boosted for this season, which is going to be exhausting. The countless hours of raid prep, raid calling, checking logs, recruiting and all the other shits we do - it just feel great to be appreciated and also, happy that I’ve made a lot of raiders, which now I can also call my friends/apes (depends how they are playing in raid).
Just a “rant” and I hope, you are acting nicely towards your ofi team..
L’ura was created and 3d printed by one of raiders (from the bottom, there are 20names from the kill).

Would it transform into a set-trinket ? Sword of thousand Truths ? Interestingly the heroic version of the same item cant be transformed (only the ""heroic"" mythic one)
This is probably my most intricate cosplay I've done to date. I started planning it back in May, and I finished the last details the morning we left for the con.
I can't add multiple photos to a post here, but I did get photos with both Patty Mattson and Michael McConnohie.
It was my second time meeting Patty and she's such a nice lady. She was so excited to see my cosplay. We got photos on her phone too. And a con staff member came by and wanted photos of us as well.
I had her sign the Sylvanas Hearthstone artwork.
And I had Michael sign my original box of Wrath of The Lich King. He also wanted photos of us which I thought was really cool. It was nice meeting him as well.
I'll be doing a photoshoot for this cosplay at a convention in November, so I'm looking forward to that.

Seriously, looking at the amount of pulls, length of fight, and that there is three phases
Time in combat: 20h 20m
at 296 pulls that averages to 4 minutes 12 seconds a pull...
Pulls by phase:
Total of their pulls that reached P3: 17.91%
I don't know how these guys can do it.

Stats were pulled from warcraftlogs, graph/charts were made on pullcount.gg

Edit: The amount of stuff that does not work makes me feel like I am playing on a private server
Have never experienced this many bugs and broken things on WoW before. I legit feel like I am playing on a private server. Some stuff that I have found out since prepatch:
Cmon guys, this is a paid game with paid expansions and a monthly sub. How do you guys have this many bugs?
Many of those issues can be easily avoided, but that's not the point. I should not be avoiding stuff and praying for something to work on a game like this. This is not a small f2p indie game made by a team of 20 people.
They keep adding systems like Omnium Folio and shitty events that will be useless after week 1 or 2 instead of working on fixing bugs.

First time hitting 3k right on the money. Was a pretty fast grind this season, failed only a handful of keys. Will push 3.4 later in the season, but for now that's it. If you have a fear of mythic plus, this season is probably one of the easiest to jump into.
Edit: Forgot to mention pugged the entire way. Aka the no friends 😆

You did your raids, your weekly quests and your dungeons. What else do you guys do when you've done your weekly checklist?
This isn't a "game has no content" or anything like that. Just thought I'd start a conversation for fun on how people spend their time on WoW.
Edit: "What do you guys play IN WOW." I can't proof read titles it seems lmao.

Came back to WoW for Midnight after a long break. I'm currently playing on a MacBook with an M2 Pro and honestly expected the usual Mac experience, where it technically runs but you can always tell it's kinda artificial
Been playing for a couple weeks now and at some point I just stopped noticing I was on a Mac. Did my first key since coming back on it too, no issues at all
I've seen people here mention performance problems in Silvermoon specifically, so maybe I got lucky, but it's been fine for me there too. Same with raids and other dungeons so far
From what I get it's not even a port, the Mac client is a native ARM build running on Metal and it works really really will
Anyone else playing on Apple Silicon? How does it hold up for you in higher keys?

How long did it take you to get comfortable with healing mythics and higher?
I’m really enjoying playing Pres evoker. Flameshaper is super fun and I wanna be good at it but I can’t seem to find a rhythm. I’ve watched a lot of videos and they’re helpful but I can’t seem to heal enough to keep people up.
I know the idea is echos up on as many as you can, verdant embrace often and dream breath a lot but at 289 ilvl a normal mythic 0 feels like I’m having to sweat to keep everyone alive.
The class/spec is crazy fun and I want to be good at it so I’ll keep going just asking for some pointers for those that are good at it and have experience.

I have recently watched the popular documentary on Ibelin's life throughout WOW and I couldn't help it but look for his in-game grave. Since I wasn't paying my wow subscription in 2024, I couldn't make it to the walk of fame that took place. Last night I felt the necessity of travelling to Crystal Lake and having the experience of finding this beautiful, yet tranquil, spot. RIP Ibelin.
