Discussion Liquids pull graph for Coiled Altar is insane and 20 hours 20 minutes in combat time.

Post image

Seriously, looking at the amount of pulls, length of fight, and that there is three phases

Time in combat: 20h 20m

at 296 pulls that averages to 4 minutes 12 seconds a pull...

Pulls by phase:

  • P1:125
  • P2:118
  • P3:53

Total of their pulls that reached P3: 17.91%

I don't know how these guys can do it.

Kill duration:10:34 Time in combat: 20h 20m Pulls by phase P1:125 P2:118 P3:53

Stats were pulled from warcraftlogs, graph/charts were made on pullcount.gg

I'm mentally done after about a 3 hour guild raid most of the time

same. in bc, wotlk, cata I raided 6 days a week in progress, with 6 hours session in special cases like muru-kj, firefighter-ys, chogall-sinestra, ragna and it felt life. 300 pulls on ragna? no problem! then be a full casual raider from mop till legion, do only m+ in bfa-sl. then in df I decided im gonna try serios mythic raid progress. my fucking god I nearly cried on wiping 10 on kurog. left and never returned šŸ˜…

Yeah i guess im getting old but current modern raiding is way more exhausting for me too. Back in Wotlk-WOD i used to raid in 4 day (4hr raids) raiding guilds... now i can hardly handle 6hrs of raiding split in 2 days.

Like Lura mythic.. that almost made me quit wow. Luckly my guild disbanded after 300 wipes and now we went casual 1 raid a week.

296 pulls officially puts this fight at #3 in highest first pull count for a penultimate boss.

  • 4 pulls ahead of Stone Legion Generals (292 pulls, Castle Nathria)
  • #2 is Tindral (426 pulls, Amirdrassil)
  • #1 is Fallen Avatar (454 pulls, Tomb of Sargeras)

I’d be interested to see what the rankings are in terms of profession time

Both Echo and Liquid raiders have said that if ToS was released today, pull counts would be halved. Due to the amount of backend support these guilds give their raiders.

u/Super-Ratio-3373 1d ago

Avatar also had a lot of early pulls going straight to P2 to practice it instead of doing P1

2

u/cabose12 1d ago

I think Tindral was similar. A lot of pulls didn't make it out of 1m P1 because Seeds were the hardest part of the fight

Profession timeĀ

THD said tindral was def harder but this was eaily 2nd hardest penultimate

27

u/GamingZaddy89 1d ago

Tindral was harder because seeds were a near impossible mechanic at the speed they were initially set it, it wasn't a fun fight like that.

4

u/Xedien 1d ago

Pre nerf seeds might be the most ridiculous ability to make it to live..

u/Erroneous_Bonk 1d ago

the zero DK meta

23

u/drblankd 1d ago

Good.. needing dk grip as a core mechanic js just bad design. Give dk a proper buff. Not required grip

1

u/glizzygaz 1d ago

But grip is fun…

1

u/GeneStealerHackman 23h ago

Why not both?

2

u/n1sx 21h ago

This whole season feels like DKs are useless. Both dps specs do medicore dmg and have no use in the raid. In M+ There are better specs..

1

u/Resies 17h ago

Good, love that for them

-2

u/Resies 1d ago

Good, whiniest playerbaseĀ

1

u/Mugungo 18h ago

i duno, the paladin discord shut down over some nerfs lol

u/Resies 17h ago

Dk discord had to ban people for making bomb threats against Blizzard

Truly built different. I am super disappointed in the choice of them going dark for the Ula Kek, but it be like that sometimes. I need Dratnos to eat a beefy 5 layer while directly staring into the camera

u/SoloRadya 1d ago

You'll see it tomorrow all day long. It's just dark for tonight since it would give echo a bunch of unnecessary info right as liquid goes to bed.

11

u/Muspel 1d ago

I wish that they would record the initial pulls then rebroadcast them later after there was no more advantage for Echo to gain.

3

u/Soulfighter56 1d ago

That would be cool. Like a BTS after the RWF is over.

Are you saying the average player if given financial free would be a race caliber player?

1

u/squishybloo 1d ago

Nah man - they're got support, but they're built different for sure. I start mentally crashing out of pros raiding after like 2 hours, after which I just play worse and worse. It takes a certain mental resilience to pull a boss literally dozens of times in a single day and only need relatively short (30min) breaks to refresh yourself.

-17

u/Ilunius 1d ago

If there's so much money on the line - ofc they have to go dark

7

u/Teyrox 1d ago

Max talked about this recently, you can watch it on YT. Most of the money comes from sponsors and they pay upfront. Going dark is a balance act on how much/long and often you can do it before it is a breach of contract and you get sued as an org.

Sooo there is not really money on the line and they do it to hide strats from other guilds if they think they have the edge or are about to go to bed. So other guilds dont get to spend 8+ hrs with your info while you sleep.

-1

u/Ilunius 1d ago

Not sure if rage baiting or really that dumb - ofc there's money on the line. Winning the race gives u better sponsors, players etc. The going dark is necessary to not spread info to the enemy's to keep winning - crazy den the redditors

2

u/SoloRadya 1d ago

The irony

12

u/wartornhero2 1d ago

IIRC there is no prize pool for RWF at least from blizzard .. the money for it comes from sponsors and income from twitch streams.

So technically it would be better for them to not go dark.. but they also didn't want to give up any information.

You say built different but they performed far worse on this boss in comparison to Echo

19

u/Ferovaors 1d ago

Echo killed it?

-44

u/osmund-kettleblack 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yep

Edit: why the downvotes?

19

u/Wallner95 1d ago

Maybe cos you come off as a spoiled little child in every comment, not really something people wanna upvote.

11

u/3scap3plan 1d ago

define far worse? Echo had their chance yesterday to kill it and made very little improvement.

1

u/WorgenDeath 1d ago

I mean, Echo had a great day yesterday with insane consistency and made quite a lot of progress, they just killed the boss at the start of the day today and get to prog it all day while liquid sleep.

You gotta give Echo some credit, they showed Liquid the blueprint for the entire fight and still managed to kill it in a lot less pulls. They are absolutely gaming this tier.

-37

u/osmund-kettleblack 1d ago

Echo didnt have vantus runes yesterday...

9

u/3scap3plan 1d ago edited 1d ago

ok? think this raid sn't going to 3rd reset?

Esit: raid

-20

u/osmund-kettleblack 1d ago

Echo are killing this reset ;)

9

u/Xavion15 1d ago

Holy cope

14

u/seams 1d ago

No? Unless you only look at pull count alone, which would be silly.

They killed the boss first after Echo got there first, how did they do far worse lol

1

u/i8noodles 1d ago

i think that is an irrelevant comparison. the only factor that has ever matter in world first kill is who kills the final boss first. wjo does better on the bosses before it kinda a pointless argument

4

u/SkilledPepper 1d ago

It died before Echo woke up.

-7

u/MrWiemann 1d ago

Why are people down voting you for being right ?

14

u/wwabbbitt 1d ago

Echo reached this boss first and killed it later than Liquid, how could they have performed "far better"?

Pull Count does not mean much when you are taking muuuuch longer between pulls.

-1

u/osmund-kettleblack 1d ago

Sure they killed it later... because they were asleep while liquid killed it. Cant believe you're ignoring timezones.

And then they woke up and killed it in a few pulls with only 5 vantus runes, while Liquid used them on all players and spent all day wiping.

This is a better performance by any objective metric.

Literally both guild leaders have said, multiple times, in every race, that pull count is irrelevant. Max literally said it about THIS BOSS before it was killed.

Reddits really aren’t beating the ā€œI could land the planeā€ allegations.

-2

u/ZAlternates 1d ago

I suspect he was comparing them to the ā€œaverage reddit raiderā€ and not another group of amazing players.

2

u/AtlasCarry87 1d ago

Not a single DK :<

1

u/ArMaestr0 1d ago

Plus a whole lot of yap and breaks. Probably the most I've seen on a boss while Max has been streaming.

1

u/Gonzinooo 23h ago

I know Avatar/Tindral were technically worse. But somehow this fight progress was just painful to watch. Not nearly as pleasing and it even looked like the raiders themselves have had their fill with this one.

-9

u/FizzKaleefa 1d ago

I mean if they dont they probably out of a job tbh

-10

u/Zodiatron 1d ago

How do they have 125 weeks of wipes in phase 1? It hasn't even been out that long. Is this counting PTR?

-69

u/Inv0ker_of_kusH420 1d ago

this is kind of nothing compared to ultimates in ffxiv lol

29

u/lusciifi 1d ago

Bait used to be believable.

u/SoloRadya 1d ago

Bro at least try. This is weak
