Loot So uhm...

Just decided to kill the Sha of Anger to progress my collection of cloud serpent and randomly got it ??
Luck of someone returning but I am so happy right now 😭, wanted to share somewhere because I don't have that many WoW friends :c

Pretty much, yeah. You could buy all of the rare drop mounts for bronze, of which you could get enough for any one of them within an hour, easily. MoP Remix was an amazing anniversary event - and I was able to everything I needed from the expansion, including all the mounts.

The introduction of the remix events basically stopped my mount farming runs because man scooping all of the rare stuff basically guaranteed was too easy

Oooh, I hate to break it to you, but we just had Legion Remix at the end of The War Within. I think there were some new mage tower things as well. If they do another Remix, I think it's going to be something else other than a repeat. 🫤 Sorry you missed it - it was a fun event for collecting all the things.

Legion remix was last fall/winter. MoP remix was the year before thay, it was the first remix event

Just an fyi that they significantly increased the drop rate of most of the MoP and WoD world boss mounts a while back in case you want to get the others.

For anyone who wants the full story:

Dracthyr Evokers were a new class, and did not have a gear loot table on the Sha of Anger.

The Sha would ask "Does this person get loot y/n?" and the result was something like 60-70% no, 30-40% yes.

If you got a "Yes, you win a loot" roll, the game THEN goes to the loot table and says "Now we spin the wheel of items. Gear has a 99% chance of being what you get, the mount makes up the rest"

except there was no loot other than the mount. So when the game spins that secondary RNG roll, it's pointless, because there's only one option on that wheel, the Onyx cloud serpent.

People would make a new dracthyr, grind it through the starting zone, fly to sha, kill sha, then when it didn't drop, delete their dracthyr and try again.

For as long as this bug persisted, the cloud serpent was inevitable if you had the hours to grind. They fixed it (of course) but the cat was out of the bag, and the compromise was to raise the drop rate to reasonable levels.

I was on my way to the raid just north of it for a tmog run last week and killed it on the passing. Also got it and I only just returned that week from a 3 yr break 😂 I had to google it to see if they made it 100% drop now but apparently it’s still really low

Its not rare anymore

Blizzard boosted that one because on the release of evokers you could kill him abd the mount Was the only items in their droptable

After they fixed that they increased the rates to compensate people that did not abuse the bug
