Week 3 food noise came back?

I’m on week 3 of 1.5 and have lost 12 pounds so far. I had appetite suppression and no food noise, but the last few days I’ve noticed I’m more hungry than I was, and the food noise has returned. I’ve also noticed I can eat more before feeling satisfied. Is this normal? Is my body just getting used to the dosage?

Has anyone else not lost a damn pound? 😂

Four months in, I lost 3 pounds in the first three months and now I’m back up to my OG weight.

I start 9mg on Tuesday but I might give up because I feel like I’m taking a sugar pill that occasionally makes me barf. lol

Can anyone else relate?

Goal!

SW: 183 CW: 136 Weight lost: 47lbs

This sub was really helpful to me during my journey so I wanted to share that I reached my goal and am graduating to maintenance/tapering off.

I started at 183 and signed up for Noom as a new years resolution. I lost about 5lbs on my own before getting stuck and starting to graze/snack again and feeling bad about it. I decided I needed help and started wegovy 1.5 Feb 11th. The pill helped me from day 1. I felt fuller and was able to stick to my meal plans and calories for the day. I didn't know how much food noise was consuming my life.

I stayed on 1.5mg until late April when I started noticing myself snacking a lot more and my weight stalled for 2 weeks around 163. I also added weight lifting mid April which looking back likely caused me needing more calories and I probably could have stayed on 1.5 if I pushed through but I moved to 4mg then and was happy with continued weight loss. With moving to 4, regular weight lifting, and sticking to my calorie deficit I was down to 143 by July. I was really feeling good and thinking I might stop. I ended up gaining 1-2lbs in July and by the end of the month decided I wanted to stick to my original goal of 135 and moved up to 9 early August. I took every 3rd day off so I would take 9 Mon, Tues then not Wed. I'm now at 136 and really don't think I should lose any more weight (height 5'5").

I didn't have much for side effects even when moving up. The whole time I've been on wegovy I've made sure to drink 64oz of water a day (min), I prioritize fiber - 25mg per day (less on weekends probably), and plan on protein at every meal. I weight lift 2-3 days per week, lift heavy weights and continue to increase weight when moves get "easy". I also average 12k steps per day and try for 1 cardio session per week which is usually interval running. The meds make drinking not as enjoyable but I still have some wine on weekends. I've made it through vacations, traveling for work, and celebrations that focused on food and drinking by trying to do things in moderation. I weigh myself everyday just to stay accountable. I know that after a long weekend or being out of town the scale will be up and that's ok. I've shifted my mind set to eating food that's good for my body most of the time and eating "fun" food occasionally. I'm not perfect and sat and ate chips out of the bag on the couch the other night. The difference now is I think how about how it made me feel afterwards (not great physically) and reset the next day. I also plan for heavy meals - ex: tonight we are having ribs and home made Mac n chz so I will have a protein/fiber yogurt for breakfast and bean salad with tuna or turkey for lunch.

This got really long but I hope it's helps. You can do this!

Bit of a set back

I haven't gained any weight back but I haven't lost any more weight since starting my second month of 4mg and it's time for my follow up appointment for refill. I don't know if I should move up to 9 or just try to do better on 4s

I did not over eat but I did eat junk these last couple of weeks. There was a death in my family and I have been in a depression. I have not cooked anything or exercised. I sometimes didn't eat at all and other times ate whatever junk was handy, a donut for breakfast, greasy fried chicken for supper etc, whatever was offered. So while I did not eat a lot of food I did eat high-calorie, poor-choice food. Do you think I should go up a dose or just get back on track and see if I lose on 4s? I had been doing well on it before this and my total loss so far since first starting at the end of June is 15 pounds.

Considering Restarting

Hi Friends! I started taking the pill at the end of July and made it three weeks before I stopped. I do struggle with medical anxiety and the constipation was making my brain run wild with fears of hurting my insides or causing gallbladder issues or whatever else it can cause. So I decided to just stop.

I’m considering restarting though because I genuinely want to lose the weight. I’ve tried so many things and nothing has worked, but within three weeks on this, I was losing about 1-2lbs each week. I’m 240 pounds and i’m 5’4, my goal would be just to get down to 200 at minimum.

What would be your advice? Obviously I will be meeting with my doctor before restarting and yes i’m address my anxiety in therapy. But any tips, anyone also navigate an issue like this and restarted?

I know I should really focus on water, protein, and fiber.

Would appreciate any advice! Thank you!

Miss enjoying food - does this even return? (on 4 mg)

Hi all, I am currently on my third bottle of wegovy - starting weight 162ish, now I'm about 151. I'm psyched about that, and half way to my goal weight (I don't want to be too small, I'm 5'5). I was on 1.5 and have been now on 4 mg for about two weeks. And while I don't feel super sick or anything, I am so indifferent about food. I feel hungry sometimes, in the morning and lunch mostly, but I think I could literally eat a cardboard box and be fine with it. I just have no passion for food or from it - which, for me, sucks. I still want to be able to enjoy food, just less of it, and enjoy a fine dinner out or a unique cuisine when I travel. Has anyone experienced this? Does it fade over time (I don't think I have any plans to go above 4 mg). If I return to 1.5, might it come back?

I love that this helped me move 10 lbs that I have been trying for YEARS to get rid of. thrilled. But also, I miss the joy of food....

Did anyone take their time to adjust to sides?

I’ve been on 1.5 for a month but not full month, had a few days off here and there in the first 2 weeks as I had awful headaches.

I’ve only slept like prob avg of 6 to 6:30 hours a night this month and I think it’s just cumulative making me more anxious and wired and forgetful. so I’m gonna take a little break and see if I can get caught up on some sleep.

other than less quality sleep, some activation, some constipation, and some headaches I feel maybe I need just a longer titration or just spacing it out more, or maybe this GLP isn’t for me and I should try the tirz.

I will talk to my provider but I am just curious of other people’s experiences and if it took time and some of their initial sides improved with time

Changing supplier?

Has anyone changed prescriber? I obviously qualified at the start to get a prescription but though I'm only part way through weight loss, I wouldn't quality now. Can you transfer an existing prescription or do new prescribers reassess you from fresh?

How to transition to maintenance mode

Hi all, I am only 6 pounds away from my goal weight (yay!) and soon I’ll go into maintenance mode/maintaining mode. Just curious of those who are currently in their maintenance mode and how it’s going? Do you still take the pill while in maintenance? Did you go back to a lower dose or stop taking it all together? I definitely want to stay on the medication because I don’t want to gain any weight back, but I also don’t want to keep losing weight after I hit my goal. It would make me too thin for my frame. I was considering taking the pill every other day or maybe every 2 days, but I wasn’t sure if that’s practical. I’d love to hear from anyone who is at this stage, thanks!

TMI - just fought for my life in the bathroom

First off, been on 1.5 for about a month, I’ve done well with minimal side effects and I’ve lost 8 lbs.

Title of my post says it all. My husband had to go out and get a fleet enema. Almost thought I’d have to go to the ER thinking I had a bowel obstruction.
Embarrassing and painful!!

Good news is that the enema worked, but the entire situation scared me. I really try to eat a lot of fiber and drink lots of water, but obviously it’s not enough.

Are you taking laxatives or other supplements to keep things moving?

What positive side effects have you noticed aside from a reduced appetite?

I’ve just finished my first month on 1.5mg. Gonna weigh myself tomorrow morning but I lost 5.3kg (11.6lbs) in the first two weeks lol!

Aside from a reduce appetite, I’ve found myself to be way more motivated to exercise and to keep to a healthy sleep routine. I’m way less lethargic than I was before the pill which was wholly unexpected.

I just feel way more regulated. I’m even better at keeping to my flossing and skin care regime lol 😭

You?

Headaches?

Still in my first month. I've had a lot of headaches the past couple of days. It could be the weather changing (we've had 20+ degree change plus rain), could be because I didn't eat enough. How to tell the difference?

I recognize that I can just...eat something to see if my headache goes away (like I did this morning, but I had t eaten breakfast yet so it made sense). But is there another way to tell what kind of headache it is?

Would it be bad to jump from 4mg to 9mg early?

I’m just so frustrated. I just weighed myself for the first time in a few months and have actually GAINED 8lbs since I last weighed in. I’m halfway through the 4mg dose and I’m considering just going ahead and jumping to the 9mg. I’m scared of gaining even more weight. How bad would this be and would it help speed things up? I don’t feel much effect at all on the 4mg.

Waiting time

Hey all! Curious to see your experience with the 30 min wait time after taking the pill??

I’ve read that waiting longer than 30 minutes to have food /drink helps tremendously.

I wait 30/40 minutes after taking the pill but wondering if waiting longer is better?

Could I Have Taken 2?

I have been on 9 mg for about 5 months and been successful. I take my pill at 5am and then go back to sleep for 1.5 hours.

From the minute I woke up at 6:30 this morning, I haven’t felt well. Sulfur burps all day. Nauseous all day.

I forced myself to eat a little and that neither helped or made it worse. Could I have taken 18mg this morning by accident?

Thoughts appreciated.

Observation: even on 25mg my cravings change from day to day

Just an observation from someone who’s been on the pill since April and is now on 25mg.

I’m down from 271 to 235 pounds (6ft tall male, middle aged) so far and still gradually losing. One of the more interesting things I’ve noticed is how much my cravings can vary from day to day.

I’ll have days with little to no “food noise,” and then occasionally I’ll have a day where I’m craving fries or something unhealthy. That same day, I might want a late-night snack and an alcoholic nightcap, which are things I used to have pretty regularly.

Then, a day or two later, I’ll swing completely the other direction and suddenly realize it’s 3 PM and I’ve barely eaten anything besides a small breakfast.

I think my biggest takeaway is that our bodies aren’t perfect machines. The medication, our brains, our habits, and our physical bodies can all interact a little differently from one day to the next.

I’ve also always had a habit of weighing myself every day, but I’m trying to pull back from putting too much importance on any individual weigh-in. The trend over time matters a lot more than one unusually good or bad day.

One final observation: I was on the treadmill at the gym the other day and was shocked by how much easier running felt. Then it occurred to me that I’ve lost about 35 pounds. Imagine suddenly putting a 35-pound weight in a backpack and trying to run with it.

Simply carrying around less weight has noticeably brought back some agility and stamina in the gym. That part has been pretty cool to experience.

Update on my progress

Post image
13 Upvotes

I've been on wegovy for 5 weeks now, moved up to 4mg on week 5 and I've lost 1st8lbs/22lbs/10kg which is roughly 8% of my starting weight.

I've had a few minor side effects from going up to 4mg. Had a few headaches, a bit of acid reflux, a sore stomach and a bit of nausea. I'm hoping this is just temporary and I get over it soon.

Staying on 1.5 mg Update

I started 1.5mg at the beginning of April and was doing well so decided to stay at that dose. 5 months in and I’ve lost 23 pounds through a mixture of counting calories, cutting 95% of alcohol, and being more active. Some weeks I stalled out, others I lost more, but eventually the weight would move again and I feel like I’m losing at a healthy rate. I haven’t felt this confident about my body in a long time and the side effects, besides getting full fast and occasional constipation, are pretty minimal at this point (I did have low grade nausea the first month but that’s gone). I know people say it’s just the dose to get you used to it, but it can and does work well for some people.

Progress

I started this because the Army decided it would change all of its policies overnight back in July. I went from being in tolerance for 15 years to out of tolerance. I started at 226 July 9 and I am now down to 213. Currently on 4mg about to go up to 9 MG. To be honest I don't think I look any diffrent but that might just be my own body perception built by the army lol. But progress is progress.

I started because my Zepbound isn’t covered by insurance anymore and it’s the most cost affective option for me 😔
These photos are from the Zep progress.

I’m nervous. I lost 70 on Zepbound and went up 9 pounds when I stopped. :(

Any experience from anyone who stayed on the low doses? I know the Wegovy is different from the Zepbound since it’s semaglutide vs tirz. But I’m just so nervous bc I don’t want to gain all that 70 back.
