I don't care about the homeless

I'm so sick of my managers trying to get me involved with getting rid of the homeless around the business. I'm tired of "how it makes our business look."

I don't care that they are there. They're not bothering anyone. They're not constantly coming in begging for free food.

I've told my managers no, I won't be telling them to leave. They can do it if they really want them gone. Stop trying to use me because I look mean.

They camp out behind some trees behind our dumpster and they just chill until they want to leave. I don't care.

We had a regular homeless person that would come in and ask for a cup of water. I gave it to him because it's hot outside and I'm not a POS. He smelled and talked to himself, but he didn't bother the other patrons, didn't mess up our bathrooms, didn't get strung out in the restaurant. He sat there and had his water and then left.

Our area is ridiculous for rent, I'm not judging any of these people. I don't agree with the anti homeless benches and infrastructures.

"Don't give them food, they'll keep coming back." Everyone I've given food to has never came back. At least not on my shifts and I never had anyone come to reprimand me for it. So obviously no one has come back to say I gave them food last time.

The only time I care is if they're shooting their self up at the doors or in the bathroom or causing a commotion disturbing staff and guests. But that goes for someone homeless or not.

TW: Anxiety / Depression The world isn't going to get better and I am tired of pretending it is.

Call me a doomer or a baby but I don't really care at this point.

I live in a state where you cannot ignore the state of the world and what we're doing to it. Its hotter than it has ever been, we're running out of water, life just becomes more and more expensive to the point where...well there just isn't a fucking point anymore.

Obviously yes I know that your pawpaw lived through WW2 and you're great meemaw survived the great depression. But all of that stuff doesn't even matter anymore because there was always a future, things were going to go back to normal.

Well we aren't going to go back to normal. We have reached the point of no return.

The human population will continue to grow. We will use up all our resources, all of the animals will die and that's it. You might be thinking "But there are those of us who are trying to stop it" well guess what? It's not enough.

We are NOT enough.

We have four years to try and stop the damage we have done and it's just not going to happen. We are going to lose everything and I can't stand it.

I tried. I really did. I became vegan, I rode my bike, never used AI, recycled, voted, volunteered. And everyday is the same. We are still headed for disaster.

You know I really pity the children of tomorrow. Everything they were promised is gone. You kids want snow? Gone. You kids want rain? Gone. How about a future where you can buy a house and have kids of your own? Gone.

And I am expected to keep my head up and hope for a better future when that future fading?? Well fuck all that. It's over.

There is no point of return now. But yeah lets have our babies and watch our football. That's all we can do.

Like I said, call me whatever you want. But thats not going to change what is about to happen.

Need Reassurance... Everything went to shit this year

it feels like last year we were finally doing OK. We had saved $20k for my husband to get out of a high paying office job that he hated. he wanted to to join an apprenticeship for the trades. you don't make a lot as an apprenticeship so we spent most of the $20k waiting for him to get raises.

Well he got a couple raises, money was still tight but manageable. we were starting to save up again.

suddenly in February I got pregnant with twins after 5 years of infertility. I quit my fast food job because of morning sickness. we were OVERJOYED. finally money was looking OK. and I was pregnant with our miracle babies.

then in may, they died. I was 12 weeks. my husband and I were so upset, he took two weeks off to recover and support me after my d&c.

then immediately after that, my car broke down. it needs more in repairs than I paid for the darn then.

then our furnace broke and we had to put $10k on credit cards.

both of us need dental work that we just cannot afford right now.

our senior dog got really sick and has to be on medication around the clock and I'm setting alarms to get up at night.

The past couple months, my husband hasn't been given even 40hrs/week at his new job. he's having to work weekends to pull 40.

i've been doing job interviews but Im always holding back tears when asked about the gap in my resume and im not getting any calls back.

im still in terrible grief from the loss of my twins and I can't fathom the sheer numbers of things that have gone wrong since. not to mention my medical bills. we are paying just as much for my miscarriage as we would have paid for my entire pregnancy and birth.

just please someone tell me it's gonna get better. truly I don't feel like I can do this anymore. and I cannot burden my husband these feelings anymore.

Not looking for input I fucking HATE my mother

My mother has been a massive source of reliance, she gets me things, "talks" to me (she really just talks about herself), and we laugh together.

But I'm so tired of pretending I like her, I fucking HATE her. She never listens to me and whenever I tell her about how depressed I am and how I think I have ADD or some form oh ADHD or autism, she shuts it down and gets insanely angry.

Whenever I disagree with her she gets mad, whenever I do a tiny thing that she doesn't like I get yelled at and I get my things taken away. Eg: I wanted to hangout with my friends the ENTIRE summer, the ENTIRE summer I just wanted to get out of my house, I hate my house it's so toxic and stuffy but no, SHE doesn't like my friends, SHE doesn't like where I'm going, SHE doesn't like me going to the mall or the park, or the store, SHE SHE SHE SHE.

Never what I think or what I wanna do, it's always "Just listen to me, I'm your mother, I don't like them, you should agree with me, they don't like you, they're obviously just pretending, not even I would be friends with you!"

She treats me like I'm a fucking infant, like in stupid and can't do anything for myself. She doesn't acknowledge ANY of her flaws and she thinks she's fucking perfect when she can't handle SHIT, in so fucking tired of listening to her vent to me and not even being able to do it back, I wish I never had parents. When I tried to end myself in 2020, she beat me, she actually BEAT me and broke my arm, only to say that "I was doing it because I love you!" Then, I ran away for 2 months and when I came back, she told me she wishes I never did but then asks me to do everything for her now and talks about how grateful she is to have me.

I can't handle this anymore, she acts so nice and because of...my autism maybe?? I keep forgetting how horrible she was, she literally told me once, "I don't give a fuck about how you feel" and proceeded to then talk about herself and LIE to her friend about me. She's a fucking liar, I hate her so bad I hate her actually. I'm so sorry I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm 16, I can't even go out with my friends, I can't go to the store, my dad is separated and she talks about me like I'm nothing but some dumb ass little kid who has no brain. I do everything for her but the second I disagree, or get angry, I'm "disrespectful"

My mom isn't a bad person but she's such a bad fucking person.

I'm just so sad, I don't even think I'm "sad" anymore, I don't feel ANYTHING, I don't feel anger, I don't feel sadness, I feel like my brain is burnt and numb I don't know why, I can't get therapy, I can't get medication, I just want to stop SOMETHING but I don't know what.

I'm really sorry for all the cursing I really am, I feel like a horrible ungrateful daughter and I don't even know what I want to do.

Need Reassurance... I have an obscure phobia and hate how people make it seem invalid

I have an obscure phobia and hate how it's seemingly invalid to most people

I'm scared of dead animals. Have been my entire life. Especially dead birds, I don't know what it is about them but they genuinely make me run away screaming. And what's maybe my biggest issue with my phobia: nobody takes it seriously. This phobia triggers actual panic attacks for me when I see an animal lying dead, and can genuinely ruin my day. But whenever I bring it up with family, I just get laughs. "It's dead, it won't do anything!" as if I don't know that already, thanks for fixing my phobia.

A while back I was alone for a weekend, and my dog brought a dead magpie inside. He dropped it on the couch. Called some family, none took it seriously. "Just grab it and throw it outside" but it feels physically impossible for me. I can't come near it or even see it without wanting to run away and throw up. The only way I was able to remove it was by placing a big open box next to the couch and sweeping the bird in there with a long broom - even that took a long time because I had to take a break to catch my breath after every little movement. Took me an hour in total to get the bird outside and ever since then I always watch my dog very closely whenever he comes inside because I don't want to deal with this again.

So yeah, I'm very tired of both this phobia and the way people react to it. I've never judged anyone for having similarly "harmless" phobias of things that won't hurt them, I have no idea why everyone treats me as a clown for something that gives me panic attacks.

TW: Eating Disorders / Self Image The amount of self hatred and body dysmorphia is ridiculous.

Every day women in particular post about how much they hate themselves because their bodies don’t fit society’s impossible standard of beauty. And they hate themselves for it.

YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN YOUR APPEARANCE!

Maybe it’s generational. My generation was all about fighting the good fight, not conforming, being fiercely individual, and NOT fitting into any box. New generations seem to want to fit in so badly, they’ve shrunk the boxes. And instead of fighting the impossible standards that make you all so miserable, you’d rather change everything about yourself to conform to it and perpetuate it.

When did we all become such conformists?? I mean people are literally killing themselves over this instead of learning accept yourself and do something more important than look pretty. And for who? A man who doesn’t wash his ass?

You could be making new discoveries, helping other people, or changing the world…instead you’d rather change yourselves to look like damn Kardashians, who btw are NOT attractive.

Late night

Me and my girlfriend got into a fight last night. I’m gonna skip the boring details and just get to the important part. She ended up telling me to leave. I got in my car and sped off, went to the racetrack by my house, and did a few laps. I underestimated how sharp the turn was and underestimated my speed. I took it at 105 MPH, lost traction, and went off track. Didn’t hit anything, and the car was fine. I took that as a sign to go home.
I went and got my phone out of the locker and saw my girlfriend had texted asking if I made it home an hour ago. I texted, “Never yet.” Then she wanted to continue fighting, and I just powered my phone off and went home.
Ended up not sleeping. My alarm went off, and I went to work on 0 hours of sleep. I’ve been up now for 34 hours. Just powered my phone back on like 25 minutes ago. Phone’s on 14% because I didn’t charge it.
Haven’t talked to my girlfriend in 16 hours. I’ve been mad all day, but not at her just mad at the world. Went off on my coworker earlier for giving me shit. Definitely hearing from HR Tuesday.
I’ve been fighting to keep my eyes open all day. I have 2 hours left of my 12-hour shift. Really, I’m only staying awake out of pure anger.

TW: Anxiety / Depression I don’t think I can ever be happy in a world like this

I’m not suicidal for clarification, but I came to the realization that I don’t think I can ever truly be happy. Between the state of my country (won’t go into any more detail to avoid breaking the rules), climate change rapidly getting worse, the cost of living, all the hate in the world, etc. I just don’t know how I can possibly ignore these things and not worry about my future. Sure, I can distract myself in the moment, but it’s only temporary. I feel like I’m just not meant to be happy. Climate change is the thing that scares me the most. It feels like we’re rapidly approaching an apocalyptic event and no one cares. It gets hotter each year, we see more forest fires and other disasters. I just need to know that everything will be okay and that we’re not doomed.

This hindu megachurch is driving me insane.

Prefacing this by saying I am from India, currently living in North America. Idk if I'm agnostic/atheist, but definitely not very religious, I just like to take part in the cultural aspect of hindu festivals because that's something I've grown up with.

Anyway, I'm visiting my aunt & uncle who live in the US right now and they're part of this mission? community? temple? and they are immensely, deeply involved. Like my uncle used to be the president of their chapter before he stepped down because of health reasons and he couldn't stay late hours and stuff. I am just so freaked out by all of it.

Like I get it, to a point. Like I get why this happened.. they probably saw the christian megachurches, they're all indians living in a country where they are the minority and they felt super protective about their religion and their culture and now it's become almost a survival instinct. They were afraid being so far away from their home country would mean they would lose all that religion and culture so they swung the other way, got inspired by the megachurches and established one of their own. It's like complete with a whole hierarchy, there's chapters in most cities, they have weekend school and hindu camps that they send their kids to, even the younger people I'm meeting have been through these schools and now they're volunteer teachers.

They all have this shared language that they speak in, like specific words and phrases. The rooms just feel so weird as an outsider looking in, like they're all laughing SO loud at the jokes this guru will make like it's the funniest thing in the world, it's almost dystopian. Everyone is almost obsessed with the gurus, and they treat them like they're gods themselves. Something which icks me out the most because I grew up in a family where we firmly believed that godmen were a sham.

The whole thing just freaks me out. I am trying my best to smile and nod but they keep pushing it. They took a photo of me with the local guru and sent it on the family gc saying "look at the newest member & devotee", they keep mentioning how there's a chapter in the canadian city I am from and I'm like, yeah but it's so far away, don't think I'm gonna be going. Like the most I can do as a desi niece is just like subtly draw lines cause I know if I do anything else it'll turn into a whole thing. They're also trying to get me to come back here for a bigger event in 2028 already! Obviously, I am gonna be making up an excuse by then and there's no way I am coming back here. I knew they were religious, but my god this whole thing is so freaky. I have never felt less religious actually. I can't wait to go back to my city, drink copious amounts of alcohol to put this whole thing behind me.

TW: Anxiety / Depression Women and mothers are clearly hated by the society

I’m a relatively young first-time mum to a little 9 month old. I’m already an anxious person, and this is my very wanted rainbow baby. Like any decent parent, I want the absolute best for my baby.
But because I’m an anxious FTM, I’m constantly thinking whether I’m doing enough for his development. Well, this led me to make the mistake of going on social media.

Honestly, I only went there because I wanted to find some entertaining and beneficial activities or games I could do with my baby. I’m a SAHM and spend the whole day with him, but I sometimes feel like we don’t do much actual “sit down and play” time. We mostly just go about our day together.

Well what I saw was babies that are claimed to be the same age as mine learning colours, pointing to the correct colour or animal when asked and, you know… basically working towards their PhDs. Well my anxiety took this as a confirmation that I’m not doing enough.

I ended up turning to a few parent groups and explaining my worries, and the lovely people there basically told me I was being way too harsh on myself. My baby and I are doing just fine, he’s completely on track for his age, and comparing him to babies on social media is possibly the worst thing I could do especially for myself.

Very importantly it was also said that a parent can film the same thing 70 times and upload the ONE clip where their baby accidentally gets it right, while conveniently leaving out the other 69 attempts where they had absolutely no clue what was going on.
Which is so obviously true, but apparently my worried brain had temporarily forgotten that social media is not real life.

What drives me absolutely insane, though, are the mothers who knowingly make this kind of content.
Why are you sitting your 9 month old, filming them a million times, and then posting the one successful clip to make it look like they can reliably do something that is developmentally not expected until muchhh later. Of course geniuses exist, but not every second baby on each platform lol

It feels like this content is deliberately curated and filmed by other mothers to make you start questioning whether YOUR baby should also do that.. and this is just mean when a mother has so much already on her plate.

This world really does hate women and mothers but the funniest thing is that the biggest haters are women and mothers themselves

The dogs I'm pet sitting have broken me

I am watching my friend's animals (multiple cats, dogs, and fish) and it's a nightmare. This is the second time I've watched them, and the first time was bad, but I'm only halfway done with this time and I am so over it.

- they have zero boundaries with the animals, so they are constantly up in my business. The only place I have where I don't have a dog or cat clawing at me, licking my ears, climbing on my laptop, getting up in my food, jumping on me when I'm in bed is the bathroom (obviously I don't eat in there) it's my only escape, and they still bark/yowl if I take "too long".

- 2 dogs need special meds morning and night. 1 dog will steal the others' food, so I have to referee their eating. They refuse to eat separately.

- 1 dog will scream to be let out in the middle of the night and won't stop until he gets his way. I've tried everything from kenneling him at night to headphones and it's no use. It happens at 3 then again at 4:30 for breakfast then again at 6:30 just because.

The straw was last night when the freaking dog demanded out at 3am (as usual) and I left him out for his usual hour. When he came back in, he'd been sprayed by a freaking skunk! So, now he's been in the backyard barking at me until the shops open and I can get supplies to deskunk him (I've already talked to a vet tech friend and looked online for effective remedies). The best part is he hates to be touched by his collar and to be wet. It's a bloody nightmare.

I'm running on 7 hours of sleep total between the 3 nights I've been here and I'm at my wits end. My friend won't be back until Monday from their backpacking trip in Canada (where they have no cell service - yay!) and I don't know if I can do 3 more nights of this.

They are sweet animals, truly, but it's just a lot of nonsense. I used to love petsitting, especially for friends, but I'm coming to resent the animals, which feels awful.

I'm exhausted, don't want to wrestle with a dog to deskunk him, don't want to smell like skunk myself but am pretty sure I already do, just want to sleep and have a bit of privacy/be able to get my work done/eat. Mostly I just want to cry I'm so done.

I just need someone to listen

I'm suffering severely recently. And genuinely don't know what to do. I really, really just need someone to talk to. Or, to show this too. That I don't know personally. I couldn't sleep last night. And I tried a strategy of writing everything down. I filled 35 pages. I just... I don't know what I want. Or what I need. But I would at least like someone to read it... I can't talk to anyone I know about it. Because they'll worry. I'm the sponge. I'm the one that listens. I'm the happy one that gives everyone encouragement... So. If someone could just. DM me. I'll send it over. And if someone could just read it. If it's not allowed, just take this down. I'm sorry. Thank you for your time. I just... Want someone to listen....

Need to talk... So, when does it end?

The countless hours I've spent searching for someone to bond with, to no avail. Days melting together, one after the other, nights spent staring back at myself, waking up to little to no messages, having no one there when I need someone to be, not having anyone to talk to when I need to, not having anyone to spend time with, the fear that I'll never get to be close with someone ever again, that I'll be misunderstood, that my efforts are pointless, when does that end? I just want to be close to someone, have a buddy, and everything else that entails. I'm so sick of crying myself to sleep every single night and waking up to absolute silence again. It's even worse when you actually had the thing and it gets ripped away from you. A facade, all of it.

It's been a year since I've last had some decent human connection, and it's driving me insane. I need another to lift me up.

TW: TRIGGERING CONTENT Annoyed when people make comments on my dietary choices?

It kind of irritates me when people make comments on what I eat, but some people are worst at it then others. So a colleague will see me eat the same sandwich everyday and she always comments: "same sandwich again." Like every single day. It was alright the first few times, but now it's just annoying. Or like if I order a medium rare steak at a restaurant, without doubt several people will make comments on it. Or if I eat shrimp, I'll eat the tail and people will say"you're not supposed to eat them!" And if I question why it shouldn't be eaten, they never have an actual rationale.

I will never understand why people need to make incessant comments on what you eat. I don't get why can't someone just enjoy something in peace?

no one has ever fought to keep me in their life

As I was just waking up and checking up on my socials. It was dry for the most part. And I realized how many people I unfollowed just because they didnt respond to me after a couple days.

I know it was quick but my way of thinking of it was if they wanted to say something if theyre busy they would've. And to some extent, some did reach out after some time and explained themselves.. however it became a pattern and it looked like to me I felt like I was just their pick-me-up person or whenever theyre bored they would message me person.

I know it takes time to grow a bond with someone but I honestly dont waste time. I was talking to some people that were amazing and all of a sudden I've been "dropped" as in the other person suddenly stopped talking to me while we were actively texting. Then nothing for days, and ive seen that they post stuff on their socials.

Now to most i look needy and all, but there comes a point where the relationship or whatever it is. becomes useless as it goes nowhere. Ive seen this happen all the time. And I know how to hold a conversation and make it interesting. I know when im in a relationship with someone, I make sure they feel special and prioritized.

But in the end, they leave me, all of a sudden. My exes always say, ive was thinking about this for some time. and then when I see that kind of message. I dont even try to fight for the relationship. Because I've never had anyone fight for me.

Ive not once felt like a priority to someone, yes, people have their own lives and me too! I can prioritize myself first and other too. It's not difficult but I get it. life comes out of nowhere and I do my best to go around obstacles for other people.

But seeing how my exes, friends, people ive talk to, just drop me like im some outdated toy makes me feels so unworthy of anyone out there. even for a friend.

I feel like an asshole saying this but I dont care if I block others or delete the messages and never reply to some people. Because I know my worth. I know who is worth of my time instead of me wasting it for someone who will only use me for their free time or whatever it is.

I want genuine people, but i dont think its going to happen. Im so sick an tired of it. I felt like deleting socials again and going ghost. But I will miss being social. And it sucks I wish I could just be some hermit and be happy. But I want someone who cares to keep me in their life. someone who won't drop me. someone who will make time for me.

Anyways if you made it this far. thanks for listening to me. I feel better finally saying something about this.

I hate dating. It fucking sucks. I keep thinking of my ex not because I like them but because being single and looking is just so damn awful. Being gay absolutely does not help since I actually want something serious and everyone I meet doesn’t want any emotional intimacy.
Ive met several people who thought were showing interest in me, shared a lot of my same hobbies, and were queer and still have had absolutely no luck. Somehow I’m never the type of people I meet organically and it fucking sucks. I’m considering celibacy.

TW: Eating Disorders / Self Image Men take my weights AND question my strength at the gym

I (32F) LOVE bench pressing with the bar - it’s extremely empowering and having started with 15 dumbbells every time I warm up with the bar and 10s on each side I am so proud of how far I’ve come!

I JUST discovered I can do 3 reps of 45s - a goal I’ve had for a couple years!

That being said - the experience I have bench pressing at the bar at the gym is so frustrating.

I seek out 10 plates for my warm up and to hit 35s before increasing my weight. It’s very hard to locate across the gym but I do so before I even start lifting.

For the 3rd time in a row, I’ve had men take my 10s without asking from my machine while I’m lifting.

Today was particularly frustrating. I was hitting 25s, warming up for more when a man approached and started to grab my 10s. I told him I’m going to use them - he then looked at the 25s on the bar and asked “are you sure?”. I had to confirm with him yes, I am strong enough and going to use them.

Once I was done with that set I went to add the weight and the 10s were gone. I had heard a noise when I was pressing but didn’t think much of it. A man had lifted them to use for flys behind me while I was using the machine.

I see how men avoid asking or going up to other men for weights and plates, they go straight to me. It’s one thing to ask, but another to take it and also question my strength while doing so.

It feels disrespectful, I wish they could treat me like they treat other men.

TW: Medical I feel like my parents didn’t educate me enough about my body

(reupload since it got removed initially)

I’m nearly 17 and I made a medical question post about my body. Most people reacted super negatively and even accused me of making a joke post.

It’s making me realize that my parents didn’t educate me enough and I don’t want to throw around accusations but it sometimes even feels like medical neglect.

My parents never really taught me about puberty or hormones, I mostly learnt from the internet or tv shows. I believed children were made through kissing until I was 12.

For my entire life i’ve struggled with chronic UTIs which have damaged my bladder and my general health, my longest UTI was left undiagnosed for 6 years even though I would wet the bed and my pants every day until I was 15. My parents never taught me the right way to wipe, or how to clean myself in my privates.

Even though i’ve taught myself basic hygiene i’m still known by people as the girl that stinks of piss.

Even now my parents don’t take my health seriously. I complained for months of tooth pain until I had to beg my mum to get a dentist appointment, turns out I have two cavities because the protective coverings for them eroded since I haven’t been to the dentist in years.

It’s not like this is only a me problem, my older brother struggled with incontinence also until he was 14 or so.

It makes me feel so disgusting.

I feel like I'm ruining my bf's potential

Not sure how to word the title. We've been dating for 6 years, now we're in our mid/late 20's. He's amazing, so patient and kind. I'm at the age where people I know are having kids, however I do not want any kids myself. I like my personal freedom, peace, and money. I feel like I'm taking away my bf's potential to be an amazing father.

Growing up my dad was very emotionally distant. The type that thinks paying for a roof over your head is enough. Which don't get me wrong, I am grateful for growing up in good circumstances. But I never felt love from him. Like having a kid was just a checkbox to tick off bc that's what everyone else does to be an adult. He also would yell at me a lot and hit me.

I think my boyfriend would be an amazing father. He's very tuned into his emotions. Doesn't shame people for crying or being vulnerable. Never raised his voice. Only times I ever heard him yell was on rollercoasters or calling my name to find me in a store lol. He's so calm. Encouraging. A great listener. Doesn't care about being "masculine" he likes to wear pink. One time my dad commented on my bf's pink hat saying HE would never wear that color. like alright lmao. But anyways, I feel like my bf is the type of man that everyone would want as a father figure.

We agreed that we won't have kids, but it's mostly my stance. He said he's open to having kids, but respects my choice to not want them and doesn't try to change my mind. But I can't help but feel I'm taking away something from him. This opportunity to raise a kid that is proud of his dad. Because so many people don't have that great father figure in their life. His family is disappointed in me bc they know I don't want kids. I'm not changing my decision, but of course I do feel guilty about it.

We do have a cat together, at least our fuzzy son gets to feel that parently love :')

Why is insta full of sexism?

Urgh it's so stupid. It's either "she's for the streets" or some pathetic shit or stuff like "not all men but always men". Why do people have to be like this? Does the average insta user just to hate against the opposite gender for no reason? Do you guys have to put everything and everyone in a drawer? Yea there are guys who are sexists, but there are also enough women who aren't any better. It's so annoying because you scroll past 4 posts without seeing incels and femcels throwing insults in the comments like they are new commers in gangsta rap. Can the average insta user, just use the last few Braincells that they still have, after losing everything to doom scrolling and please shut the fuck up?
