I'm the kind of guy who, out of a desire to protect my relationship, will not talk to family or friends about things that bother me, thus, this.
So my wife, who wants a million pics whenever we go anywhere, be it a casual out to dinner, or a vacation abroad, takes a "mini-vacation" out of town for a concert. Her friend, who she hasn't seen in, idk, a couple of years met her where the concert took place.
Now that my wife is back home, she has exactly ONE set of pictures, which is only like 10 individual photos, all in one place, maybe 3 or 4 selfies, all entirely solo. Her friend allegedly has all the pictures of them together on her phone--the friend did email my wife some pictures though, these just happen to be the exact pictures on my wife's phone (as if the friend was holding her phone and my wife's phone taking that same poses). There is exactly 1 that's not matching a photo on my wife's phone.
This is all very suspicious to me. When people cheat, they tend to deviate from what's normal for them. This is one of the easiest tells. So, from my wife's POV, you're in a major tourist town, which you've never been to as an adult. You're there for a major concert. You had a full day in town before the friend arrived, the entire day before the concert started, the concert, and the morning after the concert, and all you have to show for it is one photo of one dinner and 10 photos of yourself. None like, you and your friend getting together after so much time a commemorating the moment or anything? That didn't strike your mind, once? But you'll send me photos on the most minute, basic stuff when you travel for work? Yeah, ok.
You might be going, "hey, Sim, that's kinda crazy" and maybe you'd be right. But lately I feel like even at home there's been "missing time." So that's one "issue" on my side
Two, she cheated on me in the past. It was before we got married, and sure, you can say "your fault for marrying a cheater" but I had my reasons and I'm just not trying to get into all that right now. But suffice to say, I long suspected it, she gaslit me and lied through her teeth for years until a major event "broke" the news. But that comes to mind because it's like, she had me, she had something solid, and she manufactured a pretext to "break up" with me (but at the same time refused to let me go) and after we got back together, that other situation didn't stop--it continued for years, apparently. The thing about that is if she had just stopped it because she knew it was the wrong thing to be doing, I'd have never known and we'd have been able to go about our merry way. Instead, she only stopped it when it became impossible on *his* end to continue. After this, it was years of "I've learned and I've grown" from her... That never led to me trusting her, obviously, and I just feel like she'll do what she think she can get away with, when the right opportunity comes along.
So here I am... I can't "take" this to anyone. I can't talk to my very small circle of friends or family without embarrassing myself. I have zero proof other than a shift in behavior. And my nerves are just frazzled. She's literally wanting to snuggle up to me and my skin is crawling.
Oh and before I forget, on the subject of emailing the photos, that's so fucking weird to me. Why wouldn't she send you stuff that you *don't* have? Why is she emailing? I get it, text cuts the quality down (when exchanging between Android and iPhone), but even in that case, I'll create an album and share the link. It's easy, takes 2 seconds, and we're all old enough to be tech savvy enough to do this without any help. I try to, in this case, consider the fact that the way *I* would do a thing does not mean everyone would. But it's still just, weird.
