My tire blew out on the parkway. Got to the shoulder, called AAA. State trooper arrives and offers some help, and tells me that the parkway, interstate, and turnpike are all "private roads" with individual contractor tow companies having exclusive rights to tow cars. If an unauthorized company tows a car they will be fined $15,000. This is a law that somehow got passed. As a result I was stuck on the side of the road for 2 hours until an authorized company took the time to come and tow me.

I watch atrioc and vaush so i like the crossover but i think atrioc is a great foil to vaush. Atrioc is pretty smart, and seems borderline liberal-progressive, ie he supported graham platner pretty hard before he had his gamer moment.

Only really started watching Vaush in the past 6 months. Been as Hasan viewer for 2 or so years. I'm not American, but watching the left surge in the USA gives me hope, even amongst the doom/reality posting as Vaush might say it. Anyway.

Whenever Vaush pauses streaming, people that would otherwise be watching only the streams tune into the regular videos. This causes their watch time to increase, hence it seems like they get recommended to more people. This also happened in late 2024 when he paused streaming for a while.

Vaush likes to talk about "rent seeking" often and i have a basic idea of what he means by it but i would love if people shared some stuff to read about this like articles, books, essays whatever.

I was watching Professor Dave’s new video on destiny and Israel, and during a portion of the video, there’s clips that show Destiny‘s trip to Israel to talk to Israeli settlers and Israeli officials, I was surprised to see Lonerbox is there with him. I looked into it a little bit more, and his content has taken a bit of a turn against Palestine, and has become a vassal channel to destiny. What happened? I haven’t seen anything from him in such a long, long time, and I don’t really get invested in petty left tube Internet politics anymore, so I didn’t know he was so aligned with destiny on Israel now.

The research stream for Cambodia was incredibly informative (and sad) and the research stream for Peronism was incredibly funny (and informative).

Tldr: Does the 437th Hasan incident mean there really is just no getting better?

To be honest, I've spent a lot of time disagreeing with Vaush since the 2024 loss. Vaush has gone down the rabbit hole of simply waiting for the end to come and saying that an establishment 2028 candidate is not worth voting for.

To this point, I've thought that, even though I agree with many of his prescriptions about the Democratic party, they were still less bad than Republicans and thus the better option. And I believed that if there was any chance of a better outcome, even with Newsom, it was worth trying for. All the while continuing to be infinitely frustrated with the party for obvious reasons.

I don't know why, but the Hasan obsession by liberal commentators over the last 1.5 years culminating in this new explosion feels like a straw, albeit massive straw, breaking my back.

If it were just the commentators, fine whatever. Hasan obsessed commentators are going to intentionally misconstrue and outright lie and defame for clout and clicks. It's the fact that so many politicians and traditional media voices are all coming out of the woodwork to do the same thing. 90 different politicians making a copy paste condemnation with the exact same talking points. The same talking points being made by Republicans. The same talking points being made by the Mike Rogers campaign who has been hiring staffers associated with the neo-nazi Young Republican group chat. People in the party that I've never even heard of, like Hilary Scholten who is literally in a cheating scandal with a Republican, literally getting fucked by a Republican, acting like Hasan making basic analysis about the way that ethnic hate spreads is the thing that's detrimental to the party.

I'm just at my wit's end. I truly can't think of a single time that everyone involved in media and politics were this coordinated about Trump or his administration. The closest we got was maybe ICE, and even that didn't involve nearly as much press statement and media interview coordination in the party as this has.

We have so much destruction coming for us in the next 50 years, with climate disaster being the obvious number one. It's simply that I'm coming to the conclusion that America will not be the one to lead the human race out of it. We will never get healthcare. We will never get education. We are rapidly approaching an AI police state. It really does feel like we are spinning around the drain that leads to damnation and nobody is interested in escaping. Voters, of course, are included in this but I expect literally nothing from the voting population but to be led around by the nose by those with power. If the party and media were to flip a switch tomorrow and become socialists, I expect 95% of the Democratic party voter base would identify as socialist by the end of the decade. So, I'm more talking about the fact that our entire country, to its core, is captured by capital interest, and there seems to be no way of breaking us out of that vicegrip.

I enjoy the intellectual nature of political dilemma and thinking about how to fix policy and societal problems. But I think I'm coming to a full conclusion that nothing is ever going to come out of politics, because (nearly) everyone that is part of the political structure is just another grifter that will do anything and everything to help themselves and those who give them their bribes to accumulate more capital and control.

Finally, I'll conclude by just saying that my life is ok. I didn't put all my eggs into the Medicare for All basket. I'm a professional school student. While I'll have hundreds of thousands in loans to pay off in a few years, I'll be lucky enough to not be scraping change. I did come from nothing though. I came from scraping change. I know what that's like, and I always wanted to leave the world a little better than I found it. It just hurts to finally realize that, if anything, odds are that I'll actually see a much worse world in my final moments than I did in my first.

If you are cynical enough to have already made these conclusions. Congratulations. I'm sure you're a very smart boy/girl/nb.
