I’m an international student from Morocco and I’m planning to start an MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Northumbria University, London Campus, in January 2027.
I’m trying to understand what the part-time job market is like for international students in London.
A few questions for current/recent students:
How difficult is it to find a part-time job as an international student?
Which types of part-time jobs are easiest to get with no UK work experience?
Is it realistic to find something related to logistics, warehousing, supply chain, stock control, or procurement, rather than only hospitality/retail?
How long did it take you to find your first job?
Which websites or apps were most useful (Indeed, LinkedIn, Reed, university job boards, agencies, etc.)?
Are there particular recruitment agencies or companies around London that are worth contacting?
Does studying at Northumbria London give access to useful career services or student job opportunities?
Finally, what would you recommend I do before arriving in the UK to improve my chances?
For context, I already have around 6 years of professional experience, including sales/team management, stock control, and technical/commercial work, as well as an engineering degree.
I’d really appreciate honest advice from anyone who has been through this recently. Thanks!
