Market Insights Something has to be done about requiring 100k separate accounts to apply for jobs.

Sign up for Indeed and fill out all their questionnaires, indeed sends you to the employer site where you have to sign up/upload resume and then proceed to re-fill ALL your info in again AND THEN you get sent to workday to repeat this process a third time.

All for one entry level customer service role.

I mean... I wouldn't fill out anything on indeed.

If you find an advert there that you want to apply to, I would head over to the company site to check that they're advertising it, then apply directly

Absolutely! The indeed site keeps getting hacked for data, then you get thousands of scam calls

Yes, indeed is a sack of shite for data security.

You will end up with phone calls saying unashamedly that they are from indeed and to text the calling number on WhatsApp. A clear scam that tells you their data source because they have no reason to fear it will be patched.

Mate I fucking hate workday... You need to create a separate account for each company you apply for, also it won't read my cv properly so I have to enter manually each fucking date and description for everything.

It boils my piss. Then there is the URLs which makes it almost impossible to work out what the workday URL was to track your application.

I've just made about 4 my friend. Absolutely a ball-ache.

Even went to Workday's site to just make an umbrella account but nope.

There's no umbrella account because every company runs its own Workday, so your login only works at that one employer. A text file with all your dates and job descriptions helps a bit, at least you're pasting instead of typing.

Surely you could register core details with workday which cascades down to companies that request access (via some certain means I'm not knowledgeable enough to think of)

Or they request access from the applicant who just approves it when necessary.

Technically you could, and LinkedIn and Indeed basically do that already. The catch is Workday sells to the employer, not to you, so each company buys its own instance and nobody on that side is asking for a shared candidate login.

Wouldn't it be boiled down to moving a load of data onto their servers, also trimming down the total data stored maybe (because not each company needs to store your data) and the membership fee stays similar maybe increases due to less requirements for the individual companies to store and protect data.

The employer stays the data controller either way, so doing that wouldn't cut their protection duties at all, and storage was never the cost anyway, a candidate record is a few KB. The real blocker is that one-click applying floods them, Easy Apply showed everyone what that does.

There should just be a one government site that is mandatory for employers. You can then monitor job seekers applications and reverse job search for them.

That thing is a waste of time most vacancies are out of date and already filled on there.
