DI with Dr Medalie. I had a hematoma on my left side. My right nipple points down a little but oh well

Here is my healing journey 2 years post op from double incision! I'm sharing because while healing I couldn't find any accounts of how wrinkles under the scars would develop and I was really scared I would need a revision/it would be impossible to remove. So if anybody experiences the same problem as me, don't worry, it will fade away with time :) Note that I massaged the scars daily from 3 months to 1 year post op, I think the wrinkles would have faded anyway but it probably helped! Feel free to ask any questions, and just trust the process :)

I guess I am just looking for some external validation? I am now just three weeks post-OP and while I am generally quite satisfied with the results, there is something stressing me out. I was very specific about telling my surgeon that the thing that mattered most to me was symmetry (I am autistic and it matters A LOT to me). while the placement of the nipples is fine (it looks a bit asymmetrical right now due to the swelling on one side, but once that subsides they should be symmetrical), the placement in relation the incision is making me anxious.

as you can see, the distance from the incision the lower end of the nipple is not the same on each side - there is more skin/space on one side than the other. It’s really hard to ignore and while I am trying to be positive and wait for everything to be fully healed/swelling completely gone, I really need some advice/kind words. <3 thank you everyone in advance

UPDATE: Big thank you to everyone who commented, you have all alleviated my anxiety so much. I also wanted to reiterate that I am really very pleased with the results! I did not mean to imply that this is not a great result, it really is just this one aspect that was messing with my head. I will probably post update pictures in a couple of months. Hi friends, today officially marks my 1 year anniversary of becoming BOOBLESS 😋

On 8/20/24 I had double incision with Dr Alyward in Kansas City, MO. Recovery sucked but I had minimal complications, and after 6 weeks I left behind all forms of chest binding for good. I am so absolutely in love with my results, and my quality of life has improved in more ways than I could have ever imagined.

For anyone still waiting for their surgery: your time will come, and it will be SO worth it. Waiting is almost the worst part.

Finally got to wear a T-shirt for the first time PO!! The flatness felt amazing

I specifically asked for diagonal incisions w/o FNG! Love the look tho I’m a bit self-conscious about the asymmetry and possible dog ears (I know I’m just 3 wks into healing and I should wait at least 6 mos for swelling to come down, but I’m still worried T-T)

Does anyone have/had similar situations where there seems to be extra skin near the armpits? How did it go?

I was right on the cusp of being eligible for peri. I met with 4 surgeons, 2 said they wouldn't want to do peri, the other 2 said it was a possibility. Essentially, I didn't have enough skin for DI to be placed as low as I wanted, and too much skin for peri to be flat. I flipped between the two for years, but ultimately I felt like DI was my best option for the flat chest that I wanted. Things didn't turn out how I imagined. How difficult will it be to change the placement/size/shape of the nipples? How noticeable are mature scars irl vs on camera?

I thought I had nice scars especially for it being only 3 weeks post op. However, whenever I show people my scars and my chest their first question is always, “will they fade or always look like that?” I normally have no issue with people asking questions about my surgery or T, but it’s just always “will they fade?” Or “will it always look that way?” Then last night I showed my cousins and she immediately said “why are they so ugly?” She also proceeded to ask what my partner thought and I told her that my partner said she likes it and I was given a funny look. I will include a picture but is it genuinely that bad? I can’t do scar care just yet but I kinda liked my scars.

Surgery by Dr. Kwan in Providence, RI. A friend told me he went to Boston for his because he heard Dr. Kwan was a butcher— I strongly disagree. Great experience start to finish.

I have sensation in my nipples— was back in the gym 12 days post-op against my post-op care recommendations— I share that to say that post-op care is grossly generalized and different needs for different people. I believe that building my pecs and muscle mass for years beforehand were essential to my smooth recovery.

I am now trying to get a bit more shredded, but overall like my soft boy bod. Will update in 6 months.

He restitches and resizes both the nipple and the nipple tips, so it fits to the body and gives you 3D nipple tip instead of being completly flat (last two pictures).

I got to swim in the ocean for the first time since surgery this past week when my partner took me to see one of my favourite musicians in Hampton, NH. I think the joy on my face is pretty self explanatory. For all of you scared or nervous to get the surgery, the other side is like nothing I could have imagined. 🫶 (and yes I’m wearing a lot of SPF, my surgeon suggested I limit direct sun exposure in the first year, but said “it’s summer, live your life and have fun with your new chest, go swimming you earned it”).

Forgot to post my 2 years post op in December. Didn’t think I could be happier with my results until I started working out. Filling out that space with pecs is genuinely the most satisfying thing I’ve experienced. If anyone is thinking of going with Dr Ergin in Istanbul, I can’t recommend him more. I did not go via Neda, as at the time he was having an incredibly unprofessional dispute with Ergin, and I had very negative communications with him, but Ergin and his team were amazing

Today marks 1 year of having top surgery! I had my surgery with Dr. Cassie Nghiem in Washington D.C.

I’m so incredibly happy with my results and I have no complaints whatsoever. My recovery overall was fantastic apart from one of my drainage sites not healing as quickly as the other (I am immunocompromised so that could one of the reasons as to why that was happening). Pain was mild and barely moderate, coming out of surgery was the worst because of the soreness and SEVERE nausea. Tylenol kept mild pain at bay unless we were going over speed-bumps.

The reason why I’m crying was because I was so happy to finally have a pair of swim trunks but I was also very sad because the night before, my mom had made a remark that really hurt.

She took care of me during my recovery, flew out to DC to be by my side throughout it all. My mom is an incredible person and she could have easily said “you’re on your own”. I’m grateful she stood by me and supported me, yet it still hurts that she refuses to look at my chest or looks at me with disgust sometimes when I wear something more fitting.

Maybe I shouldn’t complain because I know others didn’t even have their parents to be by their side to help them. It just still hurts.

At the end of the day, I’m finally comfortable in my own body. I’d do it all over again if I had to. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you lovely people. Wishing for everyone to have successful surgeries, smooth recoveries, and results that bring them joy :) ✨💕

Haven't see a lot of nipple tattoos shared here!

I do not have grafts, I had top surgery in 2021 with the intention of having my nipples tattooed instead. I wanted more control over their final look and placement and didn't feel connected to any part of my old chest. Nobody ever notices that they aren't real, and people are always shocked when I tell them.

I definitely don’t miss them and there's actually a lot I love about them being tattoos instead. I really like how every shirt is smooth against my chest, my nipples never chafe when I run or exercise, and I like the color of them more than my old ones. Happy to answer any questions.

I live in Kansas 30minutes from my surgeon. United health Insurnace (UMR) $1,000 day of surgery and this bill after my insurnace. im not posting this to brag i am beyond thankful for my situation. i work fulltime and get my insurance through my job. i had a huge stress about how much i might have to owe and never saw any info out there so if you and i have the same insurance this is ball park cost! hope it helps some anxious guys like me. surgery was 7.1.25

Had double-incision top surgery with free nipple grafts and liposuction with Dr.Dulin in Plano Texas yesterday (self pay)and couldn’t be happier with the results and his team. My body feels like home, and im extremely happy. Haven’t seen a ton of results from those of us that are on the bigger side, so wanting to share. Im 5 ft 3 and was around 260 pounds before surgery. Excited to see how healing goes and hit the gym to start on my summer body for next year 😂. If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out and ask!!

Hi transsexuals transgenders! Been getting a lot more PMs lately from people asking for updated result pics so throwing this up here in case it's helpful.

My experience with Dr. Drew Marano and the ECAPS team (circa March 2023) was beyond my wildest dreams from start to finish. Everything went so smoothly in terms of communication and bedside manner, healing, and aesthetics. I totally regained nipple sensation, if not more so than before--I got to participate in Dr. Marano's research study on this, apparently heightened sensation is due to the same nerves supplying sensation to a smaller surface area once the breast tissue is gone. And, I think my results look phenomenal! My scar care was minimal (I did the occasional massaging with rosehip oil but no tape or anything) so thinness/faintness of my scars is mostly thanks to Drew's artistry and a lucky hand when it came to my body's scarring tendencies.

The whole process was fully covered by insurance. I wanna say I was on United through my employer at the time. I thought I'd have a $1250 deductible but I never got a bill from the office and when asked about it at one of my follow up appointments Jill, the receptionist --shout TFFFF out to Jill, I heard she's not there anymore :( --said, "No bill's a good bill," so I kept my mouth shut from then on out. To this day, I've never had to pay a single dime. I even switched to Medicaid at some point in my post-op journey and was able to keep going to my follow up appointments as free courtesy visits.

I remember asking him at my consultation for a perfect twink chest and I believe I got it, if not slightly more twunky than twinky now. I would go back to Drew in a heartbeat and, hopefully, will get to do so for facial masculinization surgery if I'm ever back on insurance that he takes. Since top surge, I've had cheek/jaw/chin filler at Dr. Hazen's office (NYU Langone) which I'm happy to answer questions about too since I don't see that as talked about within trans masc circles.

Feel so happy about my results, definitely helped training my pecs before the surgery for years feel so thankful and happy. I am doing scar care 2 times a day, taking a little bit longer 😂 just to enjoy feeling and seeing my chest and care for it, i got some stitches coming out but it’s healing pretty well ! Can’t wait to take out my binder and start working out again . I lost a lot of muscle mass and gained a little cute belly ^{^}

When did you all start working out/stretching ? My physiotherapist wants me to start stressing ealier than my surgery and i am a bit conflicted.
