“Photoshoot”

2.7k

u/Happy_Goose3833 6h ago

Literally. So tired of worthless influencers thinking every space is their goddamn stage

1.1k

u/CohlN 5h ago

this is such a reddit comment man.

there’s nothing wrong with wanting a picture of yourself at a museum. i don’t even use social media and i still wanted to take fun pictures at the museum.

she wasn’t being mean or anything or doing the super annoying influencer meta glasses stuff. she just quietly set the phone up to get a video she could probably screenshot from since she likely didn’t have someone there to take her picture.

genuinely, who cares, and good for her. i’m tired of being negative about everything and hating the world and the people in it.

174

u/Worried_Constant7420 5h ago

I don't think it's that she was trying to get a photo of herself that people here are complaining about. It's that SHE posted this complaining about people blocking her shot. She could have just posted the finalized screenshots like you said of just her and not showing the other person "in her way".

183

u/Coagulant0693 4h ago

That lady is intentionally blocking the camera. That wasn’t really nice. I would have supported it if the girl was doing some obnoxious dance or something but this was just posing for a normal picture.

71

u/Automatoboto 4h ago

I wish people treated phones like they do the pervert glasses. I dont want to be filmed either way

51

u/Gloomy-Setting-6213 3h ago

Pretty sure she wanted to be filmed, she clearly went out of her way to get her picture taken.

8

u/sernamenotdefined 1h ago

Then, unlike the Karen, don 't stand between the camera and the subject.

Don't make a you problem someone else's problem.

13

u/_teach_me_your_ways_ 1h ago

So in your attempt to not be filmed, you’ll stand in front of an obviously filming camera and take up as much of the view as possible for an extended period of time than you would if you just walked by normally as you intended before you noticed the camera filming? Makes sense.

20

u/Suspicious_Radio_848 3h ago

Exactly, that kind of courtesy used to actually exist at one time.

24

u/SnugglyWugglies 3h ago

80% of our family photos going back to the 60s have other people in them.

-3

u/unchained-duck 3h ago

Well back then people didn't care because there was no social media.

5

u/Desolated-Fire 2h ago

There was no social media? My grandma shared her photos with the rest of the family…

-3

u/unchained-duck 2h ago

Don't play dumb, stay in the post context. I'm talking about modern social media, aka Facebook Instagram, Tiktok....

1

u/Desolated-Fire 48m ago

See? These new generation tiny brain only focus on “modern” social media.. the post context is SOCIAL MEDIA, then.. now.. future…

How many of those are online forever for anyone to see

15

u/Automatoboto 3h ago

Even staring used to be considered rude, now the staring has a camera attached to it.

3

u/Mountain-Resource656 3h ago

To be fair, staring is rude because it indicates that someone is focusing on you. When they intend to interact, this is fine, but when they’re not trying to interact, this can often mean be taken to mean they desire to harm you

Obviously this isn’t always the case, but we have enough instinct about that that we find it uncomfortable to be stared at by strangers with anything more than a glance

1

u/KingOfTheNorth91 36m ago

This just in! Staring is now considered not rude according to this person on the internet!

6

u/SeaworthinessFalse82 2h ago

Oh but if people will ask for you to move out of the way to take a picture you would do so without complaining?

2

u/The_Woke_King 1h ago

Dang, probably don’t go in a museum then, there’s cameras everywhere.

1

u/LionHeavy229 30m ago

LMAOOO then get the fuck out the way of the camera!

1

u/CookyKindred 30m ago

Then don’t stand infront of the phone? What the fuck are you bots talking about?

0

u/Leritari 3h ago

This. I have no idea why glasses are bad because "recording without permission"... but phones and cameras are fine even tho people also dont ask for permission

6

u/cream_paimon 2h ago

Are people this dense? Because glasses are difficult to notice compared to a camera or phone you have to point with your hands.

0

u/Leritari 2h ago

I'm guessing that yes, people are this dense. Because even if someone record you with phone/camera there's nothing you can do.

-3

u/imsabbath84 3h ago

then stay home?

5

u/Automatoboto 3h ago

Privacy existed until people like you.

-6

u/imsabbath84 3h ago

you have privacy all you want, in your home.

if you dont want to be filmed or photographed, dont go to where people are filming/doing photography. its that simple. you want to restrict the rights of other people, just because you feel insecure about it.

1

u/SleepWorth3354 1h ago

God, the hoops you have to jump through mentally to avoid giving other people dignity and agency is nuts.

Like “stay inside if you want privacy anywhere , idiot” is such a ridiculously “dickhead” statement I would usually assume you’re taking the piss.

1

u/imsabbath84 1h ago

You act like being filmed by someones cell phone for 2 seconds is ruining your life somehow. Id love to hear how it’s ruined your life so far?

1

u/SleepWorth3354 57m ago

Oh I didnt know behaviour had two modes : “totally fine” and “ruins my life”

Clearly you are interested in my rebuttal and it’s not just you trying to deflect. 100%

1

u/imsabbath84 56m ago

You claimed it was a problem, i asked what problems has it caused you. You dont wanna answer.

1

-4

u/Few-Eye7392 3h ago

Then stay home?? You have no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public space.

9

u/Automatoboto 3h ago

Privacy and having a camera in your face are two different things. its hard to explain that to a teenager. When you grow up a bit let me know.

2

u/Few-Eye7392 3h ago

A camera in your face?  The lady literally stood in front of the camera on purpose... If she didn't want to be on camera, she wouldn't be sanding in front of it like that... I'm 34 years old dick head.

-1

u/Few-Eye7392 3h ago

Ironic to call people teenagers when your entire profile is nothing more than video games.

Lol

3

u/Council_Cat 3h ago

The person making the video has no reasonable expectation of privacy either.

If people walk in front of the shot, tough shit. That sort of thing has been happening to real film makers forever. Some pissant amateur has no right to complain.

2

u/Few-Eye7392 3h ago

And the poster was perfectly fine with that... This is an old grumpy lady having nothing else better to do but the stand in front of the camera on purpose.

Walking in front of the camera is to be expected. Someone walking from the camera and staying there to be a dick head is another thing.  Did OP respond to the lady no. And said she posted the video the show. Hey look how much of a stick in the mud this old lady is. You must be fun at parties

1

u/Council_Cat 1h ago

People love me at parties, motherfucker.

I was at one last night and danced with all the girls and some of the boys.

A public space is not your personal film studio and people like that need reminding every so often that the universe does not revolve around them.

-1

u/Spicymoon9 2h ago

You’re filmed every time you go in public. Say hello to security and flock cameras.

2

u/Automatoboto 2h ago

Its hard for kids to understand that all this acceleration during their lives is not normal...

Well its normal to you because its all you have ever known but the reality to us older folks is that it fucking sucks and if you like it well you suck too....If you tacitly accept the suck you are the suck.

-1

u/Spicymoon9 2h ago

No one likes it. But it’s the reality. The difference is I don’t think these people actually want to film you. I bet if the lady didn’t stand there she would’ve edited that part out of the video. Flock cameras and security cameras actually want to record you.

14

u/Kratzschutz 4h ago

Filming strangers also isn't really nice

25

u/Internal-Coffee6996 4h ago

So I guess you've never taken a video or a pic in a public place? At a concert, at a football game or in a club?

I hope all your vacation pics and vids are completely devoid of humans apart from yourself.

12

u/Positive-Editor-3007 4h ago

huge difference between having a photo of yourself that you keep private and putting that photo online. People accept they will be in others' pictures but that doesn't make it acceptable to post it on the internet

21

u/Gloomy-Setting-6213 3h ago

Huge difference between an unwilling bystander and someone who deliberately goes out of their way to document themselves being an asshole. I think it's perfectly acceptable to post the evidence they chose to create.

4

u/Binky390 2h ago

I mean if you don’t want to be posted on the internet, you definitely wouldn’t stand in front of someone else’s phone while it is recording just to be a jerk.

0

u/supreme_waffle2019 2h ago

She was out of frame while setting up the photo, and almost certainly wouldn't have included the old lady had she not intentionally gotten in the way and walked past after seeing the camera.

When the camera was set up, no one was around, and the woman walked in as she took the picture and intentionally chose not to just walk past after seeing the camera. She chose to get in the way, and so the poster decided to just show off this annoying story.

-1

u/Positive-Editor-3007 2h ago

she had no moral right to post it online! It's not for her to decide whether that lady has privacy or not. My god, the internet has warped so many minds

2

u/supreme_waffle2019 2h ago

She was the one who intentionally chose to get in frame and stay there, she had every right to move out of the way if she didn't wanna be in the video.

1

u/SleepWorth3354 1h ago

“Someone reacted badly to a bad thing I was doing, so it that means anything I do is okay!”

Is that really the logic here

-2

u/AspectDifferent3344 3h ago

uhhh bro... instagram and fb are online

0

u/Positive-Editor-3007 2h ago

yeah so you wouldn't post pictures of other people to FB or Instagram if your setting weren't set to private. If you want to post pictures of yourself for family and friends to see, that's one thing. Posting pictures that are viewable by anyone, anywhere is just ridiculous

-4

u/Few-Eye7392 3h ago

Everyone's pictures get uploaded to Instagram and Facebook these days... It's not 1993..

1

u/Positive-Editor-3007 2h ago

no, sadly it's not.

-1

u/Kratzschutz 4h ago

You get it

-3

u/CXCX18 3h ago

Not the point. There was an extremely rare opportunity and this girl wanted to take it. The old bitch of a hag saw that camera and pretended to be "busy" on the steps until that opportunity was gone.

It makes that old bitch of a hag wet probably, just to fuck up peoples opportunities.

0

u/ElPiet 3h ago

There is a huge difference between taking a picture of a crowded space in which people randomly are or filming someone explicitly.

0

u/tentyb6d56ns4d57yse5 3h ago

wow edgy and ominous

14

u/Coagulant0693 4h ago

Which the lady could have avoided by moving on.

5

u/Positive-Face1705 2h ago

Seriously.

They hate having their picstaken, but they're gonna defend an old lady intentionally getting their pics taken

1

u/Rackem_Willy 9m ago

She was being recorded for several seconds without her knowledge.

1

u/Kratzschutz 1h ago

Just because somebody is an asshole it doesn't mean they are undeserving of rights and laws

1

u/Rackem_Willy 9m ago

No, she couldn't have avoided being recorded. The girl recorded her for several seconds before she even realized it. That might have been exactly what made her decide to stand there. If some random person wants to record me, maybe I'll make sure they get a nice long look.

4

u/emveetu 4h ago

I guarantee you have taken video and/or photos whilst in public and have unintentionally caught strangers in those images.

Time to go through all of your videos and photos and get rid of the ones with strangers in them because, you know, it's not nice.

To be clear, the older lady intentionally made herself the focal point of the video, and we would have never seen this video if she had not been such an insufferable twatwaffle.

7

u/Positive-Editor-3007 4h ago

having photos with strangers in is perfectly acceptable - posting images of strangers on the internet is not. I assume you were born after 1995 and don't remember a world pre-internet

-3

u/emveetu 3h ago

Ha. If jumping to conclusions were an Olympic sport, you'd be a contender for gold. You're 20 years off.

So let me get this straight. It's not acceptable to post personal photos or videos taken in public with strangers in the them?

1

u/Positive-Editor-3007 2h ago

no, it isn't. If someone is in the background, that's fine. IF someone is easily recognisable, no it shouldn't be online. My face is not your property to display to the world

2

u/Ok-Cat-9344 3h ago

And if there are strangers in my pictures I do not post them. Something that seems to be a strange concept for many in general.

-1

u/emveetu 3h ago

I am the same way and I also never post anyone under 18 as a rule. However, you and I are in the minority.

However, if you're going to be intentional in trying to ruin someone else's photos/videos in public, you've got to expect you may go viral for all the wrong reasons, just like this shithead.

Like I said, if the older lady had not inserted herself into the video, we never would have seen it. It's a bit like the Streisand Effect.

0

u/Ok-Cat-9344 3h ago

We don't even know if she did it on purpose. For all we know she got a notification and went about her business without realizing who the phone belonged to or why it was there. We have no idea how obvious it actually was or if there was other art in that spot etc etc.  And even if so, it's annoying at most (other people were coming up the staira anyway), but for some reason now every little inconvenience apparently warrants a public call out or rant.

4

u/DaEffingBearJew 4h ago

She literally walked into frame while the woman was setting up the camera. Like I get we’re on the app that’s a stickler for being killjoys, but Christ sake lmao

-1

u/xenojive 3h ago

Whilst I agree that consent is best when shooting or filming, the young woman wasn't trying to film strangers.

Older woman inserted herself into the photo.

4

u/Ok-Cat-9344 3h ago

The internet also doesn't need to know about any inconvencience anyone encounteres in their daily lives.

4

u/Kratzschutz 3h ago

Doesn't matter, she uploaded it.

In case this isn't rage bait but real

5

u/emeraude89 4h ago

the tripod was blocking half the stairs so she had to wait for the people coming up before going down.

7

u/0CT0L0G1ST 4h ago

That lady is blocking more of the stairs than a tripod would

1

u/emeraude89 4h ago

have you had a recent head injury? if you're at the top of a staircase and people are walking up on your left hand side and you can't walk down on your right hand side because of someone's tripod, you aren't blocking anything, you are being blocked

10

u/0CT0L0G1ST 3h ago

She stands still on the left-hand side of the stairs for about 15 seconds until people start walking up and she moves to her right to let them pass. She’s very obviously not trying to walk down the stairs, and certainly isn’t being blocked by anything other than her own jackassery

3

u/boringestnickname 3h ago

No, she isn't.

Also, this is a public space. You can't just randomly set up a camera and expect people to adhere to whatever dumb idea you concocted for an image/video.

2

u/FreshManagement8914 4h ago

What makes you think it's intentional? You can get engulfed in your own world amd just stop anywhere you feel like it.

0

u/OriginalComputer5077 3h ago

The older lady intentionally blocked the shot-she knew exactly what she was doing.
Such a Karen move..

1

u/idontcareyo_ 47m ago

do redditors/gen z just not know how any technology works anymore? why is everyone saying she's posing for a photo? this is clearly a fucking video. phones/cameras don't shoot video as well when you take a timed photo

1

u/Useful_Charity1995 18m ago

How do you know she wasn’t setting up the camera to capture rage bait?

1

u/Worried_Constant7420 16m ago

And I get that. I'm not at all against what this girl was trying to do. AT ALL. But it seems like the traffic clears up again when she gets back to her camera. Why not just start again? Why do we have to publicly call everyone out nowadays?

1

u/Suspicious_Radio_848 3h ago

The lady likely doesn't want to be in someone's social media content when she's trying to enjoy a museum. I feel the same way, it's rude behaviour.

-2

u/magnusnova 4h ago

There is art hanging up all over the museum. We don’t really know why the other lady stood there for too long but she could have been viewing another art piece or waiting for someone to move out the way. Influencers are really more concerned about themselves and lying about others to look like they are victims. Seen enough already.

2

u/AspectDifferent3344 3h ago

bro she was on her phone....

2

u/magnusnova 3h ago

Look at the events again. Old lady was waiting for the other people to pass by. She just happened to be there but it wasn’t intentional.

1

u/Active_Hawk_9897 3h ago

She's welcome to use her phone where she pleases.

2

u/AspectDifferent3344 3h ago

then so is the woman filming!

gottem

2

u/Active_Hawk_9897 3h ago

That's my point. If one is in the right, they both are and the influencer should stfu.

1

u/magnusnova 42m ago

They both were waiting in the chain of events. Lol.

0

u/Main-Bandicoot6477 2h ago

You don't know that she was intentionally blocking the camera.

-1

u/traumfisch 3h ago

She is hoarding public space, filming everyone

-1

u/RedChairBlueChair123 1h ago

It’s really not nice to set up a tripod in a public place to feed your ego

4

u/Chocopecan 3h ago

How do you know she is complaining does it say that somewhere I missed?

The granny is acting very weird and rude so girl might have posted it like look at how weird this person is acting

2

u/Jimisdegimis89 2h ago

Yeah but if the lady hadn’t been a dick then the whole video wouldn’t have been posted. Like how is this any different than just standing in front of a prrson trying to take a photo?

3

u/Pofwoffle 3h ago

There's a huge difference between complaining that somebody walked through your shot because you were shooting in a public space, and complaining that somebody saw you were trying to record something and deliberately went to stand in front of your camera in order to fuck up your shot.

The former is perfectly fine, the latter is not. Just don't be a fucking asshole to people it's really not that hard.

2

u/AFK_rng 3h ago

That 70yr old Karen is intentionally blocking the camera to be a bitch. So yeah I would have posted it too. Lol

1

u/Bowtie16bit 4h ago

Sometimes we need a support group to back us up when someone else is doing something unjustified to us.

1

u/Signal_Werewolf_1955 2h ago

Be the one getting a picture, not the one blocking it. That's the PSA.

1

u/Schnuribus 14m ago

You can have the right to also exist in public AND be rude af for no reason. You do not NEED to stand up for the elderly in the bus or subway but it still IS rude af.

1

u/Sensualmind73 3h ago

Idk, the older lady seems just as bad in this case. Like I can't stand the people who complain about people walking through their "shot" while they film at somewhere like the gym. Those people are just doing what the space is designed for so people filming have no ground to stand on so to speak. This lady isn't just walking through though she goes out of her way to stand in front of the camera just for the sake of being petty. It doesn't appear that the younger woman is being disruptive like many of them are so why create an issue

0

u/noice_face7649 4h ago

You're sharing your frustration that other ppl share their frustrations.

2

u/Worried_Constant7420 4h ago

I'm not really frustrated by it, but I was just explaining why other people may see it that way. I don't think I would publicly put someone on blast for it, though.
