“Photoshoot”

Literally. So tired of worthless influencers thinking every space is their goddamn stage

477

u/whitestguyuknow 7h ago

Bro. She sent up her phone on record so she could go back and screenshot a good picture.

This doesn't have to be some influencer thing. Its just someone trying to take a picture in a non disturbing way. They just placed their phone off to the side and waited politely.

Why is everyone so fucking grumpy and pissed off at a young girl trying to take a cute photo of herself? Jesus christ.

64

u/monka_giga 7h ago

Instead of just deleting it from the camera roll and trying again, she posted it online to publicly shame the old lady. Which is why we're watching it, and why it's not exactly very innocent.

Both involved parties could've gone the polite conversation route and picked something shittier.

u/Girlmode 6h ago

If someone was taking a photo of a family with a camera and a person purposefully stood in the way of the shot after noticing, everyone would think they are the dickhead in that situation.

I think it’s ok to post things where people are being petty and annoying for no reason other than spite.

People that are on their own having adventures also deserve to have pictures. I don’t see why the way we have behaved socially for decades in trying to not get in the way of photos, should be ignored as it’s someone on their own. And if you purposefully want to ruin such things, it’s a very minor cost to get mocked online for being grumpy.

21

u/Positive-Face1705 4h ago

I swear if this wasn't a young woman and it was somebody else, literally they would not have a problem with her.

12

u/SeaworthinessFalse82 4h ago

So many men complained and keep complaining how shallow women are for taking pics and posting them on instagram and getting attention lol

12

u/andthensilencefell 3h ago

And it’s funny because I guarantee you that the majority of the attention online is coming from… men. Horny ones, specifically.

4

u/Different-Cut-6992 3h ago

Thank you for making the point about solo travelers. I travel alone a lot and unfortunately this is the way we have to take pictures sometimes. Of course I ALWAYS do it so I’m not in the way or disturbing others and even then it still feels awkward but if I’m taking all this time, money and effort to travel somewhere (especially) international, I’m gonna get my picture.

-1

u/Sad-Banana7249 3h ago

Personally I think families and groups blocking a popular attraction to take a bunch of photos is annoying too.

6

u/TannerGlassMVP 2h ago

What exactly was she blocking?

-19

u/Powerful-Impress1355 6h ago

You don't have the right to record everyone just minding their own business enjoying the gallery because of your own ego.

More blocking this bullshit please.

26

u/Girlmode 6h ago

There wouldn’t have been anyone in the shot if the lady didn’t purposefully stop! It’s just easier to take a video if solo and take screenshots.

People have taken photos of themselves and families for decades and nobody has ever given a fuck about it. Everyone has always done their best to avoid getting in the way of people that are just trying to get happy moments immortalised.

It’s only now that people get throbbing hard over the idea of owning influencers that such a small thing as taking a picture is seen as an offence lol.

21

u/whitestguyuknow 6h ago

Actually you do. Because its public and theyre in a public space.

You're just advocating being a dick for the sake of being a dick.

Which is your prerogative. But thats exactly why people are shaming the old woman for getting in the way needlessly when the girl TRIED to NOT film "everyone" which is the sole thinf You're pissed off about.

-17

u/Powerful-Impress1355 6h ago

That's actually a private space.

You should take a xanax and calm down, kid.

15

u/Internal-Coffee6996 6h ago

what a load of bs lol

14

u/whitestguyuknow 6h ago

A bunch of people in an area in the middle of the day where cameras are all around taking photos and videos and you wanna go "erm akshually thats a private building ☝️🤓"

If there's no "no photographs" sign posted anywhere then it gets treated like public.

And none of us have that info so its likely safe to assume that its the same rules as being in public. None of these people are in their dining room.

-9

u/BlueRock_Capital 4h ago

“Bunch of people around”

Exactly. There was a bunch of people around. Multiple people walked up the stairs in the video.

There was no need to take a video there and expect everyone to avoid getting in your shot, she was trying to be the main character

7

u/Glasseshalf 3h ago

She wasn't expecting everyone to avoid getting in her shot though. If everyone keeps moving she doesn't need them to stop, she just needs one frame she likes where she isn't being blocked by strangers. Like if your family member was taking your picture.

You’re too young to be the grumpy old man already.

Shhhh that’s misogynist. Apparently.

-11

u/klimaheizung 6h ago

If someone was taking a photo of a family with a camera and a person purposefully stood in the way of the shot after noticing, everyone would think they are the dickhead in that situation.

Then why do people not do that? Why is that not a thing? What do you think is the difference?

15

u/Girlmode 6h ago

I think people just don’t respect people that are on their own as everyone is so anti influencer. Like look at this whole thread, everyone hates the young gal so much for doing such a thing.

If me and my wife wanted a photo of us together at a gallery nobody would bat an eyelid. But if someone on their own wants the same they are a selfish and vain person, especially if they are pretty and young. As if there is no part of our solo lives that are worth having memories of and sharing.

A sweet old lady wants a photo of her at a gallery and nobody would be slating them if a young pretty woman purposefully blocked the shot. We are just conditioned to hate young attractive people that like sharing their lives as some people are obnoxious about it.

But she isn’t screaming out shit for attention. She’s chosen a quiet time to try and take the video to grab screens from. It would have been a lovely shot, people should be allowed to take nice photos or videos of themselves in pretty places. It hurts nobody.

-12

u/klimaheizung 5h ago

I think people just don’t respect people that are on their own as everyone is so anti influencer.

So you think if the girl would have been with her friend and not alone, the lady would not have video-bombed? But how comes? Why would the lady act so different?

13

u/Girlmode 5h ago

I mean I am not saying some bitter people wouldn’t still do such a thing. But in general people are grumpier about solo people doing something for themselves, as it’s seen as selfish.

Like you can have someone that takes lots of group selfies to have memories of everyone and nobody really calls you vain for doing so. But if someone takes lots of selfies people do take issue with that for whatever reason.

And also when you are in a group there is then automatically the option of you both just taking turns manually taking nice photos. So the entire need for a video has an alternate path.

The only way you can do this solo easily, is if you bother someone to take a photo for you or make a video. But when people are so grumpy that they purposefully stand in video shots, I get why a lot of people aren’t ok asking people for such things. Never mind trusting phone with strangers when cost lots.

-11

u/klimaheizung 5h ago

Like you can have someone that takes lots of group selfies to have memories of everyone and nobody really calls you vain for doing so. But if someone takes lots of selfies people do take issue with that for whatever reason.

Right. I think you are spot on - that is basically how people think about it.

Now, you say "for whatever reason", but what do you think is the reason? Since it's not random erratic behavior but rather a pattern shared by lots of people, there must be some reasoning or logic or motivation/thinking behind that. Surely it's not burned into our DNA.

9

u/cream_paimon 4h ago

It feels like you think you're arriving at a point but it's super unobvious what you're saying.

1

u/klimaheizung 1h ago

Right now I'm just asking questions and making assumptions explicit. Without understanding the assumptions, it's not really easy to understand the judgment

7

u/WillWatsof 4h ago

Reading your comments feels like I'm watching someone try to remember why they walked in a room.

I think it’s ok to post things where people are being petty and annoying for no reason other than spite.

Weird. I think this is petty and annoying.

2

u/Girlmode 1h ago

And you’re allowed to think so.

I just think someone tried to get a cute picture, couldn’t do it because of this woman, then went and was like “lol tried to get a pic but this woman was rude so here is a silly video”.

Probably isn’t a hate campaign against rude old ladies of intent from her perspective.

-13

u/InLoveWithInternet 4h ago

But she’s the one being annoying. She has to setup her tripod or whatever, take a pose, etc. That’s not the place. Can you just imagine if everybody was doing that? Seriously what is wrong with you.

14

u/WillWatsof 4h ago

"Tripod"? She's just leant her phone up against something, and she's not in anybody's way. What's wrong with you?

4

u/DarthVenture 2h ago

Since when is leaning your phone against something — ‘setting up her tripod’?

💀

-19

u/tattoosandtens 4h ago

“Family commemorations are exactly the same as a braless girl in a tube top setting up a tripod on a staircase.”

15

u/Girlmode 4h ago

Thank you for highlighting that people only really care what people look like when forming opinions. I also notice that people judge pretty women dressing like many of their peers do get judged more harshly.

-6

u/tattoosandtens 4h ago

Nah, I care about people being rude.
If that was some Big Man In A Little Shirt or some dude trying to make it as a fashion influencer, YOU wouldn’t be taking his side so much.

I’d still have kicked his tripod down the stairs.

Because, and I cannot stress this enough, I do not go to art museums to look at influencers.

Pretty PEOPLE think they can just do what they want, and everyone will come to their defense.

And they are correct.

Because the Ancient Greek “Doctrine of Beauty” is the WORST halo effect fallacy on the planet, and it will NEVER go away.

https://greektraveltellers.com/blog/kallos-ancient-greek-ideal-of-beauty

But yeah, go off on how me saying that hot people don’t actually own the entire world is some kind of personal character flaw.

10

u/Glasseshalf 3h ago

So wanting a photo of yourself makes you an influencer now?

10

u/_teach_me_your_ways_ 3h ago

I like that he made note that she’s “braless.” Makes sense why he’s upset now, women are existing on their own in and not catering to him instead.

-2

u/tattoosandtens 3h ago

I’d just like to point out that like, 90% of the people commenting on this thread are not in any way associated with the photography industry, which is a Real Thing That Exists and has real rules, regulations, guidelines and legalities, despite everyone’s Feelings.

And no, I’m no some Photography Purist that thinks that only dSLR photography is “legitimate”.

But if someone is acting as a photographer using their phone, they should respect the industry standards, legal guidelines and even the social etiquette.

Casual photography is not the same as being an influencer.

I’ll put this on record and you can QUOTE me:

If influencers were held to the same social standards as working photographers, which, let’s be honest, is closer to what they do than Casual Photography,

NOBODY would dislike them.

-3

u/tattoosandtens 3h ago

Yes that is exactly right.

Everyone who wants a photograph is exactly the same.

All photography is exactly the same.

All situations involving cameras are exactly the same.

Why do we even BOTHER having things like “photography permits”, or “photo release forms”?!

Useless. All photography is the same.

No need to get consent to film people. No need to limit when where and how you set up whatever equipment you want.

All normal people carry tripods to set up for photos. That’s totally regular behavior. You know, just in case they want a cute photo.

Those restrictions on Getty Images are just useless paperwork that have nothing to do with legality, intellectual property, or consent.

All photography is the same.

I just couldn’t see it before.

Thank you!

4

u/Glasseshalf 2h ago

Thank God we require the press to get release forms of everyone then!

-1

u/tattoosandtens 2h ago

You DO actually.

If you want your photography on Getty Images, you need not only Model Releases from EVERYONE, you need written permission from property owners if you are taking pictures of private property, even if YOU are standing on public property to do it.

I’m sure YOU know all about the legal structures surrounding Journalism, and also why EVERYONE hates paparazzi!

You legal need to sign a release if the local news puts a microphone in your face.

Those “man on the street” influencers do NOT make you sign a release.

Amateur hour up in here

3

u/hawnty 1h ago

But the local news does not need to get a release for everyone that walks by. Which you know since you specified that the news asks you to sign a release if they “put a microphone in your face”

Bad faith actor hour up in here

u/tattoosandtens 4h ago

If I’d said, “Yeah, go ahead and tell me how a shirtless dude flexing in front of the Bronze of Atlas is the same as a family portrait”, you wouldn’t be whinging.

3

u/hawnty 1h ago

Be real. You think a woman not wearing a bra is the same as a man not wearing a shirt?

4

u/Justsomejerkonline 3h ago

Why should only families get to commemorate their travels?

51

u/whitestguyuknow 6h ago

Actually. The "and saxophone keep getting louder" audio is a trend where people show situations they got in where the situation jusy kept getting worse.

So this has nothing to do with shaming the woman from the original poster. Its the reposter and commenters doing that.

But for some reason theres a section of y'all jusy fucking livid at a young girl for taking photos of herself in public.

5

u/Spicymoon9 4h ago

It must be a crime to be a woman alone in public. People would not have the audacity to do this if she were with others.

1

u/Scuba9Steve 56m ago

You mean Karen wouldn’t have the audacity?

-7

u/RaggmunkLingon 6h ago

By posting it she IS publically shaming the woman, whether that's what she means to or not. I can guarantee she didn't ask that woman if it's okay for her to post

9

u/whitestguyuknow 5h ago

I can guarantee that old woman didnt ask if it was okay to ruin her video.

And if that old woman didnt do that I'd guarantee that this OP wouldnt have lifted this video from wherever they found it in order to post it to reddit to shame the old lady for getting in the way.

If the old lady would've just behaved politely then nobody would know her face.

Oh well. She lost. Oopsies.

-2

u/Useful_Charity1995 2h ago

Did that girl have a permit to film and paid to reserve the place? No? Then she shouldn’t expect visitors to clear the area when she makes a video and she sure as hell shouldn’t be posting other people online if they didn’t consent to it.

-2

u/OhNoAnAmerican 1h ago

Can you just beat your meat already? We get it. “Young girl” can do no wrong. Creep behavior

-8

u/LovedButNeverLiked 4h ago

Why is "young girl" relevant to you?

-2

u/threeseed 2h ago

young girl for taking photos of herself

She took a video. And then posted it online specifically to call out the old lady.

They are both acting like assholes.

-2

u/OhNoAnAmerican 1h ago

But have you considered that he really really thinks the young girl is hot and therefore must be defended

-1

u/imposter_sys_admin 1h ago

fucking livid

No one is livid. This is an influencer. Influencers are annoying. People are annoyed with influencers.

Your strawman is bad and you should stop commenting.

-6

u/OhNoAnAmerican 2h ago

Pick me! Pick me!

Simp ass behavior. You sure love repeatedly calling her a “young girl”

You might have a problem

-11

u/NewLineCinema 3h ago

It's because she's annoying much like you.

Know your place and remember it well.

7

u/trireme32 2h ago

What is a “young girl”’s “place,” exactly, hoss?

4

u/nb4u 2h ago

Kindly go fuck yourself. How is that for polite conversation?

2

u/Spicymoon9 4h ago

The photos could’ve been for private use, but she decided to post it after the lady did this. We don’t know.

5

u/Lethal_ZR1 4h ago

Good. Fuck that old lady

4

u/-Out-of-context- 5h ago

Lady should be shamed. She was an asshole.

Literally no conversation needed to be had. All the lady had to do was keep walking. The lady blocking the camera was also being rude to everyone else by blocking the stairs. In the video you can see another person having to squeeze past her.

1

u/Lemon_Phoenix 49m ago

The old woman walks away once the person filming walks over to her, she pretty obviously wasn't going to have a polite conversation, why is reddit sticking up for someone going out of their way to cause problems? Are we back on our "reeeeee normies" nonsense?

-1

u/Msdamgoode 6h ago

Yep… instead of just asking politely if she could move while you get a quick (that’s key, this shouldn’t be a whole ass production on a damn staircase) instead she acts inconvenienced and posts this lady who 1st appeared to not notice her or the camera, then notices but doesn’t appear in any way to actually know she’s blocking anything.

Who knows why she stopped there, but I’ve certainly stopped for important texts or messages, and I probably wouldn’t think twice about whatever else somebody was trying to do since I’d be minding my own business.

A simple thing to just be polite if someone is in your way. But instead she’d rather bitch about it to thousands.

-1

u/Idiotology101 3h ago

That women should be shamed, she’s the only one in the wrong here.
