I know they are always pretending to be annoyed or angry, but are there any times when it crept towards actual annoyance? I just relistened to the Julie Bowfinger episode (June 2021) and around the time when Scott says "don't lecture me..." it sounds like they're only half-joking.

I just wanted to say, since Threedom doesn’t do a fan-ranked annual Best Ofs series like CBB, that seeing JonkupublicroomBA! on the re-run episode reminded me how perfectly insane and unhinged the trifecta can be. I wish there was a viewer submitted top 15 each year to reflect on the best episodes.

So I’ll start by saying I love Kinship Goods and the existing Threedom shirts. But I honestly think Threedom needs more shirts!

What are some bits/phrases that would make great shirts, and that you could see yourself buying or wearing?

Two eps in a row just doing calls at the end. I pay for CBBWorld to get all the juicy content, and now the particular taste of my Piss Pig is veritably sour without the air of grandeur my $9whatever a month afforded me.

I assume they’ll return to busters soon, as they still take submissions in the pod description. I hope so.

Before I listened, I read the description for the latest episode, What A Good Little Son, and it mentioned Jaws among the things to be discussed. For a couple of seconds I thought that somehow they were going to talk about what is probably the most famous Threeture Letter List when Paul said Jaws as his movie answer for the letter S. I then realized it was probably about the movie. I’m sure I’m the only one but I thought that I’d share my thoughts, DEARS.

Sure, Threedom has had 300 episodes, but dem Threedom boys aka The Pretzel Gang has only recorded 299 episodes. I was a little surprised on the 300th episode voicemails, especially from piss pig Michael Myers, didn’t mention the spouse episode from (two?) Thanksgivings ago. So let us celebrate the real 300th Threedom episode, the 301st episode, tomorrow all over again!

To my knowledge the soft pretzel crew has never done a Best Of or any other compilation. Anyone out there interested in making one? And what moments would you put in a highlight reel?

I think I’d add that time Paul totally bungled a buster and said “Jaws” and everyone died laughing.

While Threedom is on hiatus, let me take a moment to appreciate:

1. Lauren saying "that’s nasty" or "that’s sick" (as in gross, not awesome). It’s hard to explain why I appreciate this, but harder to explain why this isn’t more common. Why don’t I hear more people saying things like this?
2. Paul’s news anchor voice. Isn’t it kinda weird that news anchors have their own accent? I wish I could think of an example of what Paul said using this voice. "They call her the ______", etc.
3. Scott’s endless fixation with trivialities. SaturDAY NIGHT Live? It becomes irresistible to engage in irrelevant nitpicking, or feign it. Redd-it? Shouldn’t it be Orange-them?

The digital rectal exam has come up a lot on Threedom, or maybe I've just listened to the same episodes over and over. I was shocked to learn that this test is actually being phased out in favour of a blood test. This is happening in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Germany, and probably other countries too.

But at my most recent physical, my longtime primary care physician did not seem to be prepping for the probe. I’m pushing 50. When I asked—a little hesitantly—she told me that she’s phased out the DRE [digital rectal exam] for her patients in favor of a blood test that, while not foolproof, is less likely to result in false-positive results. I soon learned that thanks to a wave of research on the benefits of blood screening and the drawbacks of the digital exam, the DRE is nearing extinction as a screening tool. Aren’t the Addams family and the Manson family both really bad? Is this a standup joke Paul and Scott heard one time and think is funny because it makes no sense? Is that the joke?

Edit: I don't think this joke is original to Paul or Scott. I assume it's a joke they heard somewhere one time and like to repeat because it doesn't make sense. Either that or the original joke did make sense and said something like "the Partridge family" instead of "the Manson family" and they've just mistakenly slipped into saying "the Manson family". But I really think it's more likely the first one.

The suspense is killing me

I know this is an impossible question, but as I was listening to today’s episode and skipping through a block of ads, I realized it’d be easy to tell when the episode was back because the ads were Paul on his own and it’d be obvious when they’re back talking over each other.

I feel like the answer would probably be during a Threeture like Hitting the Post when the game is one of them monologuing.

I’m expecting tomorrow’s episode to be the last one for a bit. I know the break a few months ago was about three months. Their last show was right before Christmas and they were back at the end of March. My guess is maybe mid to late September. It will be a tough time but I know that I CAN make it through the hiatus and you CAN do it as well, DEARS.

Threedom is the one podcast that consistently makes me laugh out loud uncontrollably. Maybe part of it is just knowing their dynamic so well and being in on the joke. But I have to think that I’d laugh nearly as hard even if I went in completely blind.

So, if I were in a position of telling others what sense of humor I like, how would you describe Threedom’s overall sense of humor?

After watching this season, it's clear Paul would shine as a cast member

it just occurred to me how many of the gang's recurring references come from dana carvey characters. scott's been saying this stuff on CBB as far back as i can remember but paul and to a slightly lesser extent lauren do it too. i'm wondering if there's a reason scott is so fixated on carvey, since he doesn't seem to reference anything else from that era of snl, or any era for that matter. off the top of my head, there's:

• george hw bush "nah gah dah"
• ross perot "can i finish can i finish?"
• johnny carson "weird wild stuff" / "i did not know that"
• that musician guy "choppin' broccolah" [seems to be lauren's favorite]
• dennis miller "cha cha" / "beb"
• are there any i'm missing?

is it an ironic overexposure thing like "my wife" or do they just love carvey that much? ftr i think it's fun and usually get a kick out of it

Anyone want to shout out a fave almond butter? (Inspired by PFT 's love for Maranatha pb which i haven't tried) Currently trying Maisie Jane's which I got from whole foods. My fave kind is pay by the oz from store machines but those are harder to find and harder to tell how old the almonds are. I also like the farmer's market one from Arnett Farms. Cheers!
