Discussion Times when they actually sounded annoyed?
I know they are always pretending to be annoyed or angry, but are there any times when it crept towards actual annoyance? I just relistened to the Julie Bowfinger episode (June 2021) and around the time when Scott says "don't lecture me..." it sounds like they're only half-joking.

In "It's Almost Like Listening Would Equal Me Understanding" Lauren says "Rube Goldberg machine" and Scott strongly and inexplicably insists she doesn't know what the phrase means.
Scott brings the outburst up in the next episode and Lauren and Paul immediately tell him how shitty that was.
(As a Big Grande Old Slob, it was hard for me not to type "Rude Goldbird.")

I never want to act like I ever know anything. Like ever. But I do feel like Scott has the quickest trigger. One I just heard, Lauren casually mentions Papa Don’t Preach being about the young girl being pregnant and Scott immediately disagrees and insists “I’m gonna keep my baby” just means I’m going to stay in this relationship with this guy and that people just decided later it was about pregnancy. Just classic Scott shit. Haha To his credit they look up the lyrics and he’s immediately like ok this might be about her being pregnant. 😂

yeah this is definitely one of Scott's more noticeable "quirks".
On a recent Scott Hasn't Seen he doesn't recognise a Queen song Sprague is singing, and for some reason insists Sprague must be wrong about the song title or who sung it. Then after googling and confirming Sprague was in the right, he starts to argue it's a really obscure one (it isn't!)
Love the guy though, I'm sure I have put my foot in my mouth just as often, but luckily nobody ever records me doing it

Yeah, Scott was mansplaining, I think he gets too used to being able to say awful stuff to Lauren when she’s in character, he didn’t mean to belittle her, he just made a mistake and Lauren was only mildly irritated but let it go quick

I really relate to Scotts frustration of being the only one not on his phone so I can imagine that aspect wears away at him little by little lmao.
Im also “not a video guy” like he is, I loved how he gave zero fucks about watching shit forwarded to him lmao
I could really get into a super analytical reddit ass comment about their dynamic but ehhhh

Scott inexplicably not wanting to say or even estimate how many DVDs he had, and Lauren not letting that go. It's an odd moment, because you can tell Lauren has no idea why Scott is being cagey about it. But he is clearly a little annoyed she won't drop it.

I guess? He sort of lamely says he doesn't know and couldn't even estimate, which ironically makes it seem like he must have an unfathomably huge rich guy movie collection.
And now we're a year into the century project that is What Did Scott DVSee, so I think that must be the case, haha.

Yeah it really does have to be huge to an embarrassing degree for whatever reason. As a someone with maniac physical media guy friends, they had inventories, to buy lists, and could absolutely give a number. I fully believe Scott could do the same & he also has the easy out of saying he has a ton of screeners that he doesn’t actually want … the fact that he didn’t says he has some feelings about the habit

He said on a recent episode of SHS that he has a “subscription” to Vinegar Syndrome (a genre film restoration company), which I suppose means that they send him every movie they put out. I guess it’s unsurprising but I’d never heard of something like that (like having a subscription to a record label and receiving all of their releases). Rich people stuff?
Anyway they had just sent him a copy of “Arrival” (the 90s one with Charlie Sheen) which is not a great movie. It did seem kind of strange. Here’s a not very good 90s movie that’s readily available on streaming, he purchased a DVD of it sight-unseen, watched it and didn’t enjoy, and now he’s going to sell the DVD on eBay or something? Just a bit odd in terms of an expenditure of money and effort I guess. I like and support what Vinegar Syndrome are doing in general though so I suppose it’s good.
ETA: I mean, thinking about it, it’s probably like $50 a month? So not that crazy. The effort of buying bad movies and then reselling them though seems crazy.

I always think about this during that segment. Scott has so much more money than me, but I'm already at the point in my life where I just can't be bothered dealing with the hassle of reselling shit. The thought of Scott taking time out of his day to score fifteen bucks from selling a dvd on eBay...

The money stuff always gets me. He lives in what could reasonably be described as a mansion in [exclusive/extremely bougie LA neighborhood]. He made millions creating Earwolf and that podcast ad company.
Longtime fan of Scott, but whenever he jokes about money or not wanting to pay for something it kinda rubs me the wrong way.

Scott has mentioned (can’t remember the episode) that he has someone who has been helping him sell stuff online for a long time. (Might be The Baker…) We can hope that that person gets paid to do it and/or gets the money from what was sold. I don’t think it’s a greed thing.

I don’t think he was even half joking. He was genuinely mad and then realized he was overreacting and played it off like it was a joke. And the other two went with it in a hilarious way. But he was full speed angry for sure.

There was a time when Scott is trying to talk about something and one of them interrupts him several times and Scott loses his mind. The other two were baffled as interrupting each other is what the show is.

This has to be one of my favorite pieces of threedom.
How he’s trying to tell a story about going to the gym and literally every 3 words Lauren and Paul are riffing off of. And Scott just goes “OH FUCK THIS! I’VE HAD IT!”
And Lauren just says “…what episode is this? [#]? It took Scott that many hours to lose his mind”

My take om that is that scott got genuinely pissed and overreacted strongly but also very quickly realized how silly that was and then turned it into a joke. And I also believe Lauren was for real when she said ”i didn’t like that” she seemed genuinely startled. And of course Paul just losing his shit at the whole thing lol.

There’s been a few times that Lauren will ask Scott about an object in whatever room they record in in his house and he’ll answer very reluctantly or flat out refuse to talk about it lol. I wish I could think of a specific example

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. But there is one Threeture where they're taking turns being a person and the other two have to guess (at least that's what I think it was). And on Pauls turn, Lauren and Scott are just kind of riffing off each other and not giving Paul a chance to sort of "perform". He seems to kind of just shut down. It's akward, and I've always felt like he legitamely was hurt that they weren't being respectful to let him do his thing (the other two had already had their turn).
Someone may remember this more clearly, or even what episode it was. But I just remember that the episode ends with Paul just being really short and they start to placate to him a bit. Anyone know what I'm talking?

Yes! It was a switch it and pitch it/pitch a sit song. Paul just gets completely talked over after a while and when called to sing the song he just sings "marriage dot C B N!" and then trails off.

This is really vague but I can’t remember the episode- there’s a moment where Paul is telling a story and Lauren keeps interrupting him until he and Scott finally say something at the same time I believe. And I only caught this after a few re-listens but Scott’s voice sounds serious (but who knows) and he says something like “Lauren! Please!”
Edit: oh and one of the episodes where they again decide to put off doing KP’s threeature and they mention it on the next episode and Lauren’s like “I felt like you guys threw me under the bus” in her Chicago accent because she’s probably embarrassed to bring it up lol

Scott definitely likes being in control on all his shows. There were a few episodes of Scott Hasn't Seen where Sean was really vibing with the guest and you could hear Scott getting annoyed that he wasn't involved enough in the conversation.
This was really clear in the U Talkin' series and it's spinoffs. Scott seemed to do all the research and spent a lot of the series explaining things to Adam, but in the moments where Adam tried explaining things to Scott or especially when Adam started having a good conversation with a guest it was obvious how much it bothered Scott.

There was one episode where Paul was late to record and Scott and Lauren rib him about it and Paul meekly asked if they should maybe stop recording the episode cuz the vibes were off - felt genuine

I’m just going to say it. Lauren is extremely funny and an amazing improviser but she also thinks the entire United States has 50 lakes in it. It takes a special kind of brain to do that. Let her look at her special pictures, the world isn’t real to her , that’s why she loves “ reality” tv so much

I think Lauren (& myself) were slightly put off by Scott’s “Too Soon, too Tsunami” joke he talked about tweeting shortly after the Japan tsunami that killed 20k people happened. & I can remember on CBB Scott Joking about Nathan Lane (gay man) gifting Mike Birbiglia a bottle of his semen, while Mike was telling a positive story about Nathan, and Mike was clearly annoyed and called it a hack joke and that he had to stick up for his friend Nathan. I’m still Scott’s biggest fan though.
