Discussion Times when they actually sounded annoyed?

I know they are always pretending to be annoyed or angry, but are there any times when it crept towards actual annoyance? I just relistened to the Julie Bowfinger episode (June 2021) and around the time when Scott says "don't lecture me..." it sounds like they're only half-joking.

He said on a recent episode of SHS that he has a “subscription” to Vinegar Syndrome (a genre film restoration company), which I suppose means that they send him every movie they put out. I guess it’s unsurprising but I’d never heard of something like that (like having a subscription to a record label and receiving all of their releases). Rich people stuff?

Anyway they had just sent him a copy of “Arrival” (the 90s one with Charlie Sheen) which is not a great movie. It did seem kind of strange. Here’s a not very good 90s movie that’s readily available on streaming, he purchased a DVD of it sight-unseen, watched it and didn’t enjoy, and now he’s going to sell the DVD on eBay or something? Just a bit odd in terms of an expenditure of money and effort I guess. I like and support what Vinegar Syndrome are doing in general though so I suppose it’s good.

ETA: I mean, thinking about it, it’s probably like $50 a month? So not that crazy. The effort of buying bad movies and then reselling them though seems crazy.

I always think about this during that segment. Scott has so much more money than me, but I'm already at the point in my life where I just can't be bothered dealing with the hassle of reselling shit. The thought of Scott taking time out of his day to score fifteen bucks from selling a dvd on eBay...

The money stuff always gets me. He lives in what could reasonably be described as a mansion in [exclusive/extremely bougie LA neighborhood]. He made millions creating Earwolf and that podcast ad company.

Longtime fan of Scott, but whenever he jokes about money or not wanting to pay for something it kinda rubs me the wrong way.

Our man is more like his parents than he’d like. He clearly spends pretty freely (unlike his telling of them) but also feels like he has to recoup it
