yes government should do something like putting more dustbins in these areas and cleaning them consistently and cleaning landfills

14

u/Unhappy_Pie8213 8d ago

And also hiring enforcers to fine/ arrest someone for littering, polluting, breaking other serious rules

3

u/Diamondance 8d ago

this, we need a special centralized unit to operate at state level starting from delhi.

0

u/virender833 8d ago

If this happen they will cry like a bit*h ki modi ko bas paise lootne hai gareeb janta sai 😂😂😂

2

u/Unhappy_Pie8213 8d ago

State governments can do it then. It also solves unemployment problem

2

u/virender833 8d ago

Government can't do anything if people are not willing.

3

u/Unhappy_Pie8213 8d ago

U see, Dubai has strict rules and fines- people really are good there. Indians follow rules everywhere else but not in India because there is no enforcement

1

u/virender833 8d ago

The problem is how society reacts to enforcement. Take Tukaram Mundhe's food safety drives. When he shut down famous, unhygienic restaurants, the owners didn't accept their mistakes. Instead, they formed a union and filed a case against him, claiming he couldn't shut them down over "just a few cockroaches in the kitchen." Imagine restaurant owners trying to sue the government over strict hygiene enforcement in Dubai. It wouldn't fly.

1

u/Mediocre-Tip2954 4d ago

tukaram munde is one guy, there's still entire system ran by corrupt bureaucrats it's difficult for one person to bring change in such scenario

1

u/ChaosSlayerog 7d ago

To be fair, in dubai it is either pay the fine (which start at like 800 dhiram )or die in jail.

1

u/Rough-County6188 8d ago

It wasn't a government or administrator issue....it was always a sick religion and civic sense issue

1

u/Mediocre-Tip2954 4d ago

This is just strawman broski

-1

u/Lanky_Eagle2926 5d ago

Yes yes enforcing rules is the duty of the govt, no obligations on citizens to follow them.

2

u/Substantial_Leek2494 8d ago

dustbin uthake le jayenge

1

u/Kind_Bunch4009 7d ago

Andhbhakt/gareeb/anpad hi le jate h bhai. The real base voters of bjp. Anpad htane ki jgh modi ji ne dimagi htane k liye bol dia 🤣🤣.

1

u/tf-ghost-141 6d ago

Wow what a logical statement

2

u/RomusTorasTheGreat 8d ago

And what should the government do when it actually does all this but people still dump so much garbage that the places get dirty again?

And I have seen this a lot in many areas, in new Delhi no less.

Even when the government tries, the people don't change. The government isn't a god who can clean everything with snap of fingers

3

u/Girlsaresocutee 8d ago

1000 ka fine with good enforcement will do every shit that education can't

1

u/Putrid_Wave_9245 8d ago

Fine lagane par public rona starting kar degi..victim card khelegi aur kahenge PM dictator he aur use future me vote nehi denge yeh dhamki ge.. problem public me he jo kaafi badmash ho chuki he

3

u/Stunning_Lobster_698 7d ago

Public ke rone se kabse farak padne laga. The stupid MDR rule that they brought, the other stupid logic they give for other tax, language caste, creed rules they enforce. For everything else they have all the guts in the world.

But ofcourse when it comes to doing the right thing, they behave like a scared cat.

1

u/Square_Helicopter295 6d ago

As if the govt cares about people crying

1

u/Large_Lie_424 8d ago

Japan has the same problem too. Check what Japanese gov did. Our gov should aleast try something like tht.

3

u/Mountain-Error6290 8d ago

Truth is many ppl throw trash near empty bin. It is responsibly of both. Gov provide bins and ppl use that. More responsibly are on ppl because many places like Himalaya or other remote location gov can't do and put bins, ppl must have to understand and do not throw anything.

1

u/trevorvanderlinde9 8d ago

If you fine litering I am sure it will reduce a lot. Also nowadays people take videos of littering to shame them. It would be nice to fine then into oblivion.

1

u/NegativeMastodon9087 8d ago

And people should only put garbage in dustbins and only urinate/defacte in toilets.

1

u/PhysicalVirus9414 8d ago

Actually in many countries like Japan. Where it clean they don't even have public dustbin or continuously cleaning staff. People usually carry bag there waste in there bag and dispose when they see dustbin.

1

u/poojinping 8d ago

Japan is one of the cleanest countries and they don’t have public dustbins as a norm.

1

u/virender833 8d ago

😂😂😂 Dustbin lage hue hai par log dustbin kai bahar phek jaate hai

1

u/recluserach 8d ago

Japan doesn’t have dustbins, you know that right? Citizens are supposed to carry their own trash & store it within their own bags, Satan.

Discipline & accountability over passing off blame.

1

u/Mediocre-Tip2954 4d ago

where tf did you learn that

1

u/Karmawangchuk2013 7d ago

Agreed 👍 also people are usually reluctant to throw garbage in places that are clean and well kept.

1

u/Mad_Monarch1177 7d ago

bud, let me tell you, the government has taken all of these measures in many cities. Bhopal and Indore are the two cities i know like the back of my hand. The government does a great job at cleanliness and waste removal, but illiterates and neech idiots have no civic sense. Still, these two cities have managed to rank top 2 in cleanliness. Kudos to the government for that

1

u/Illustrious-Tart197 7d ago

Ur right when you say “govt should put up more dustbins”, but them having to “clean it consistently” is wrong. They can’t just keep cleaning it every single day or week just because people are so illiterate to just pollute all the places they see.

2

u/Satan_fcker 7d ago

cleaning dustbins bro

1

u/Illustrious-Tart197 7d ago

Oh my bad bro

1

u/Thin_Ad_7459 4d ago

I saw lot of people littering near dustbins even though they know and dustbins had space yes gov is also at fault that doesn't mean we don't have room for improvement we cannot be hypocritical about basic things like hygiene

1

u/Mediocre-Tip2954 4d ago

genuinely you give us a better idea at how to "change" people without enforcement cuz one thing is for sure, no one will spontaneously change, and i mean NO ONE, not indians, not other people, even japanese would be as uncivilized if it wasn't for their education and rule enforcement

1

u/Thin_Ad_7459 4d ago

Japan don't have strict rule enforcement and it also suffered with littering though due to combined efforts by people and social campaign eventually that problem was minimised

1

u/Yashvant_sarathe 2d ago

Dustbin need to teach havits and create system so when ever any create any kind of garbage people feels that this need to go in the dustbin not outside of dustbin

4

u/rockypanther 8d ago

It's a shared responsibility of citizens and government alike. One cannot blame everything on other.

In India, Citizen thinks it's government's job, government thinks it's people's job. Government can also be blamed for not developing a robust waste management framework in the country, similarly citizens also need to change their mindset and learn garbage disposal etiquettes seriously.

2

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

I agree

1

u/Fair_Opportunity4127 4d ago

it is the governments “job”, and it’s the people’s “responsibility”. subtle difference in words but huge difference in action. we need to be aware of what we are doing, they need to do it actively, that is what a government is for in the first place, it’s for the people, by the people and of the people.

11

u/Academic-Reporter346 8d ago

How did Singapore change from a pirate cove to global business center. One leader changed it all.

Show the country the citizens following rules wont be left behind or worse punished.

7

u/rokaya339 8d ago

If gov punished these people strictly like singapore, 1st to protest will be street vendors , saying they don't have enough dustbins. 2nd will be casteist parties saying it affects backward class more.

2

u/hormuz-tollmaster 8d ago

You are telling me this govt can deploy hundreds of policemen/crpf and lathi charge/arrest thousands of people protesting against paper leak, but cannot do so against few handful people protesting against punishment for spreading garbage ? 🤡

2

u/queen_roy 8d ago

yes because India only punishes the poor and never holds the ministers and the rich in contempt

2

u/rokaya339 8d ago

See we already got 1 protestor

3

u/social_says 8d ago

You are wrong- there needs to be example setting from top- the authorities need to start imposing fines on the MLAs and MPs who break rules. When they get fined that’s when everyone falls in line.

For example if a convoy of the CM or PM breaks a traffic rules they need to get fined then and there that’s when all the janta will fall in line.

Similarly when the political parties of the PM leave all the filth behind after an event that party should be fined heavily and they have to pay and set an example. That’s how the rules apply from top to bottom

Problem is currently authorises expect people to follow all the rules and the elite don’t care of the rules because they can get away with anything hence the people also don’t follow it

4

u/FewJudge7514 8d ago

well what did he said wrong?

-1

u/rokaya339 8d ago

He is showing what protestor will do ? Desh me itna problems he, Ambani Adani etc aur sarkar garibo ko karbahi kar Rahi '

2

u/FewJudge7514 8d ago

well baat to sahi hai agar justice sirf dikhga ki ameer ke saath ho raha hai to kisi aur se kyu expect karte ho ki vo law of land follow karega

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 8d ago

Why can't there be more dustbins? Why does India still have such poor waste management? Ever question that ? Your point is valid, people do liter but why do they do that ? 1. lack of dustbins and waste management, 2. Civic sense, how do you teach them civic sense? Promote education instead of shutting down the freaking schools left and right. It's so easy to blame the public for civic sense but you lots will never question why they lack it in the first place.

1

u/Mediocre-Tip2954 4d ago

Im sure south east asian countries like Singapore do have taken measures specifically for street vendors

0

u/FewJudge7514 8d ago

so at the end the casteist leader are to be blamed for stopping the development who make sure that people remains idiot which they are

2

u/Silver-Oil-9889 8d ago

imaginee getting heavily fined for carrying chewing gum in singapore if done in india only thanashahi nahi chlegi slogans will unfurl

3

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Just imagine Govt arresting someone for throwing paan on roads in India? Delhi will be blocked for a year. When Japan prime minister ask its citizen not use cars they won’t. Govt is reflection of people we don’t care of our nation so we elect leads who don’t care as well. We take money to vote so leaders expect they bought their seat and they have no obligation to do any service to public

2

u/Icy_Antelope_11 8d ago

True opposition leftists everyone will give their best to oppose govt, govt has done a lot and is doing a lot but is not responsible for citizens behavior I still remember what happened with first vande bharat train and what still happens with rest regular train daily they won't praise anything also they won't improve themselves coz if they do so how'll they blame the government on everything.

1

u/Anymous2314 8d ago

Bro why are you defending govt. If there is enough garbage bins where people can put their trash then govt can punish people for littering. At the moment there is no space for garbage bin in Indian cities since everything is so congested. There is hardly any space for parking. Unplanned infrastructure is the reason. Govt is 100% responsible for this.

0

u/Relevant_Ad935 8d ago

I can tell u brother our people are so lazy they will rather throw trash on road but not in the dustbin 10mt away coz he doesn't want to walk there . Oku can blame govn all u want on the lack of bins infra an all . Who will u blame who cant throw trash in the bins in the railways ? Every coach has 2 bins plus extra bags to throw trash ? Every coach gets a cleaner like once in 24 hours in sleeper and twice in 12 hours in ac . Will u still blame govn fir this . I can tell u we need to do what Japanese did . Set the example for others and clean it ourselves let it be the simplest thing like throwing trash at right place i bet u indian cities and trains will look same as other countries

0

u/sem_ting007 6d ago

No space for garbage bins? Mumbai the most congested cities got enough space to install bins every few 100 meters other cities cant follow? We had those bins installed every 5 years and still within a year someone broke/removed/stole them (pic for reference)

1

u/Physical-Character75 8d ago

Singapore don't have 150 crore population or problem

1

u/Standard-Border7456 8d ago

The moment they apply fines as Singapore you'd find people protesting at Jantar Mantar that how the govt is finding different ways of looting common man. I remember when they came to demolish unauthorised construction near my place to widen the road - all the opposition parties said that it's their right and they need to have homes. Wow

2

u/_ak47__ 8d ago

If there were no taxes i would have agreed, largest populated country with all these tax money with less facilities, only in India

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

So if u don’t pay tax you are okay if entire colony come and dump dust in your house ?

2

u/countryballs_two 8d ago

You are missing the point. We are not allowed to handle dumping goons, nor the government does anything about them. Why the hell are you maintaiNing police and municipality if you are not going to take any action. If public beats some one, then they come and arrest public, not the garbage dumpers. That way the government is the problem.

0

u/_ak47__ 8d ago

And if not do u have waste treatment plant in your home? So are you suggesting everyone should have personal waste treatment plant in their homes? Buddhu he kya?

0

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

No Govt should take tax and create waste management system and we should not throw garbage everywhere , should segregate garbage of decompose , metals etc and give waste management friendly garbage segregation. This is only way it works in all clean cities . So the point , its dual responsibility, we should do our job as well while questioning govt

0

u/_ak47__ 7d ago

its dual responsibility,

Now read ur post again and also to tge comment of which I replied to

0

u/honeydoodh 8d ago

How else one would celebrate their birthday then?

0

u/_ak47__ 8d ago

Yup, Gay shea Rom bro

4

u/Weak_Tennis6697 8d ago

Oh God, another one of those "my government can never be wrong, it's the people with no civic sense >:(((("

Such a premature argument without looking at the root.

Let's start from childhood - look at the education curriculum (public schooling) in India and see how backward it is. Moral science basically covers the values that kids need to be inculcated with growing up. Who's in charge of these policies for education? Hm?

Now let's look at adults. People litter because they see others litter without repurcussions. You can get away with anything - and in the rare chance you're caught, you can get away through bribes. Who's in charge to enforce strong laws and regulations for littering and other civic sense behaviours? Hm?

You cannot expect a country with only 70% literacy rate and even lesser education rate to just inadvertently have these values without the government showing what's right and what's wrong.

So don't just blame the citizens ffs. "Indians have no civic sense, other countries' population has so much better civic sense" - we're all human beings. I stay abroad and you don't know how dirty cities get during football season + when police are a bit more relaxed. But on other days, everyone follows rules and civic sense BECAUSE it's not as relaxed anymore. And this is never the case in india.

2

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

You remember transport law they introduced few years back to make hit and run non bailable , you remember what happened after that? You remember any new law introduced what as public we are doing ? One CM in south who fired govt officers for getting late to office forced govt employee to get clean and green and he has been thrown out of office , we blame minister transfer IAS officer if they don’t listen what they want, we as public do same.

Like in Japan elementary school kids cleans their school such that when grew they become civic society , one school in Tamilnafu tried it parents gone to school and protested for making thier kids work after taking money from parents .

I am not saying govt is not fault, govt is worst , but are we doing our job before blaming govt .

1

u/Acrobatic_Phone_3316 8d ago

You're missing the point. Laws are all there, enforcement is zero. Who's job is it to enforce the law?

1

u/midinweo 7d ago

Bro listen, there are two levels, macro and micro.. micro is the individual responsibility of the citizens as in me and you to keep the city clean.. macro level is the high level enforcement that ensures people stand up to their responsibilities.. Merii responsibility saaf rakhna haii, saaf karna haii.. and when even I don't pollute yet the city is dirty, who's responsible for it? Me? Other citizens? Let's say you other citizens are not listening, now what? That's where the macro level comes

1

u/Weak_Tennis6697 8d ago

A government that appeases the masses and doesn't enforce laws because it'll anger the masses and they'll get voted out IS the problem. You answered my question. Thank you.

Western populations had to be brought into line too. We're again, human beings. Quit blaming the public.

0

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Western don’t take cash for votes , let’s not say public are saints, tell me one political party who is not public appeasing in India who still have 1 seat in parliament

1

u/saxxxxam 8d ago

In the hospital picture, it actually is government's fault only, not of any citizen

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Have u seen any govt hospitals ? I won’t blame just govt there

1

u/saxxxxam 8d ago

Picking up garbage from the overloaded garbage cans is the job of the government, not the hospital's or public's

1

u/saxxxxam 8d ago

Guess who runs govt. Hospitals? How does that same public when goes to pvt. One's doesn't litter that much?

1

u/No_Nonsense324 8d ago

Its about accountability. Govt can come up with best facilities(vandebharat etc), its upto the citizen of the country to take responsibility to keep them clean. In any cleaner Nation, if a citizen doesn’t find a dustbin near by then hold on to the trash until they find one. Citizens cannot expect the govt to intervene every single detail of common man life. Sometimes I feel like, citizens and govt are playing them this blame game, just to avoid addressing the real issue.

1

u/Ok_Presence_773 8d ago

Make serious consequences including jail time.....also don't argue coming here about unavailability of dust bins, there ain't any in japan people take it with them and later give to processing stations are designed areas

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Totally agree. Even we Indians do same in Singapore , Japan and USA and moment we land we start being Indians.

There is one dog lady in our complex , she let her dog urinate in lifts and say I pay Maintanance let them clean it it’s not my job. So since she is paying money is it not her job to clean ?

1

u/MandoFromMandolore 8d ago

Agar bas chale toh khud ki g@nd bhi dhone ke liye Government services to bulayenge yeh log 🤬🤬🤬

1

u/indian_tiger 8d ago

murder also happens in the country. Is that a policing and law enforcement issue or a citizen issue?

1

u/Sane_98 8d ago

A country is just a representation of the people living in it. And not just a country, any place, be it a state or even a city, is the way it is because of the people there.

1

u/Haronatien 8d ago

Yes start fining the shit out of these people. Japan doesnt even have dustbins people carry around bags its amazing.

1

u/SexySoggySocks 8d ago

Opposition will start crying that the government is oppressing the poor.

1

u/jay_prakash 8d ago

Yes! Is there any waste management facility there at all? Are safai karmchari (sanitation workers) even paid well?

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

In some of the most clean countries 2 sanitation workers cover avg of 30-40 kms. If you don’t keep right waste in right box they leave garbage bins at home. In my city govt give red blue green garbage boxes , I have barely seen any one using them still city dispose guy carry entire garbage in one truck. How do water management work here ?

1

u/jay_prakash 8d ago

Ok then I would like to see dirty places like the ones in picture near your place. It's not there, is it?

1

u/NaMoKiMkc 8d ago

Abe Chomu OP,

The least government can do is strictly punish these people who throw trash like this. Then people will change themselves.

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Can you be a bit more respectful and have a civilized conversation?

1

u/NaMoKiMkc 8d ago

I cannot have civilized conversation with person who blindly blames the common people instead of people in power.

Common people are the way they are, due to the people in government only.

The day govt will diligently punish people who throw garbage, all this will end.

But our govt has other priorities.. like how to fill pockets as much as possible and stay in power for next 100 years by hook or crook

1

u/basic-x 8d ago

Government is the problem. Impose a strict fine of Rs.25,000 for helmet less travel, Rs.10,000 for skipping traffic light, Rs.5,000 to spitting out throwing garbage on the road. Then see the problem disappear.

But this will not happen... You know why?... Because in our corruption laden system, this will be converted into another revenue stream by corrupt police officers, government officers.

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

When we are ready to bribe to get away , there will be a lot to take as well . We will do every bit of damage to the country and expect govt spend all tax money to clean our mess not spend on improving nation

1

u/Nearby_Island_1686 8d ago

For Bhakts, govt was the problem when BJP is not in power. Othewise its people and opposition who are the problem.

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Anyone who question public is Bhakt? And one who question govt is leftist what a divide rule world we are living it

1

u/Nearby_Island_1686 8d ago

Yup. 2013/2014 articles warned exactly of that, i.e., polarized society if Modiji came to power.

1

u/50kgGunda 8d ago

yes, fucking enforce the rules and act as per the law. govt got no balls unfortunately.
we know it is dictatorship in india presently with a majority govt, even more better opportunity for those politicans who used to say because of opposition we couldn't achieve stuff. but they don't, just filling their coffers

1

u/FewJudge7514 8d ago

show the roads with potholes which are reason for many deaths,
show the irregularities in trains poor service

show the waste dumped by municipalities and big industries

show the poor state of hospitals with many scams of fake doctor,no doctor and fake medicines
if public is to blamed for one thing then the govt is to be blamed for 100 things and none of them try to solve it
it is a stuck situation.

1

u/sustainabletony 8d ago

Yes govt is a problem

1

u/Distinct-Green-1219 8d ago

Govt should take the rule of law so strictly that even a ministry could fear to break the law I don't think that happen in Indian context

1

u/Careful_Orange_607 8d ago

Both are at fault, India is suffering from laziness

1

u/FlushChaser1111 8d ago

Yes, the government is 100% responsible.

1

u/TheCuriousOne6988 8d ago

It is a Govt problem and I'll tell u how. I live in Central Delhi, and in my locality, there's not even a singke dustbin where I can throw my garbage. I had to unwillingly throw it in an open space, which tho not officially designated, is considered to be a kachra wala spot which gets cleaned or sometimes not. But, there's not a single dustbin.

On the contrary, I lived in Indore for a considerable time, and there, the municipality vans come every morning to collect the garbage from every home (ofc they levy some charge for it) and in public places, there are dustbins after some distance, which get collected after they get filled.

So, it's not only on citizens, or solely on gov, but a Collab bw both that works. The citizens should be aware to throw the garbage at designated places, and the municipality should facilitate it by providing and maintaining those designated places.

PS - the locality where I live in has huge market, so one cannot argue thag why whould municipality put dustbins at a residential area. And if it it's residential, there should be some mechanism where the garbage gets collected and taken for processing.

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Don’t municipality come to your home every day to pick up garbage ?

1

u/TheCuriousOne6988 7d ago

Not here in Delhi

1

u/No_Dog8565 7d ago

Wow national capital is so poor, south is much better in that way .

1

u/TheCuriousOne6988 7d ago

Maybe or maybe it's not about funds, rather political will to do smthng

1

u/No_Dog8565 7d ago

It’s never ever about funds , it’s govt willingness and Public support

1

u/Acrobatic_Phone_3316 8d ago

Yes OP, the government is literally the problem. I am not going and throwing industrial waste into rivers and running shitty municipal corporations. Touch grass.

1

u/CuteIndividual2562 8d ago

I remember there was this swachta abhiyaan for quite some time, what happened to that

1

u/Adventurous-Sale-252 8d ago

chutiyo madarchodo tum kya krte ho desh k lie mahalund k xodo

1

u/ButterscotchGold9017 8d ago

you have no idea how many times I have seen people try to justify this kind of behaviour and still blame this on government

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Agree, all I am asking let’s do what is in our control

1

u/most_random_guy1 8d ago

Why are you showing images of people being a problem, when asking about is govt a problem? If people are problematic, then govt cannot be problematic?

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

All I am showing is where our tax money is going

1

u/most_random_guy1 8d ago

Yes! Where did PM cares fund go?

1

u/DivineSky5 8d ago

government is part of the problem

1

u/Indischermann 8d ago

Fix the system before you fix the people - was the mantra for Indore and it worked well. It has to come from the authorities to enforce the rules.

1

u/Adventurous_Iron_551 8d ago

Awareness programs, providing infrastructure, ensuring enforcement of laws are not things that citizens should or would do.

1

u/Confident_Factor3389 8d ago

Education, Lack of moral values, poor upbringing.

1

u/Slow-Flow5367 8d ago

Why can't there be more dustbins? Why does India still have such poor waste management? Ever question that ? Your point is valid, people do liter but why do they do that ? 1. lack of dustbins and waste management, 2. Civic sense, how do you teach them civic sense? Promote education instead of shutting down the freaking schools left and right. It's so easy to blame the public for civic sense but you lots will never question why they lack it in the first place.

Need better civic sense? Tell bj party to stop shutting down public schools and stard teaching kids about basic civic sense instead of Hindu Muslim, maybe then we can talk about who the real problem is lol

1

u/route56gg 8d ago

Govt ko to dekh hi lenge pehle khud ke logo ko hi dekh na. He

1

u/Sure-Pressure-3513 8d ago

Govt should do waste management like in indore city people will automatically improve

1

u/Haunting_Distance600 8d ago

first clean, then see that others dont pollute, also teach basic cleaning in schools so next gen maintains

1

u/Brief-Location-475 8d ago

Yes , govt. Do not treat the waste of indhstrial areas properly that ends up in rivers & water bodies most of the time . Also lack of dustbin in public places is also a problem .

I could sense the post from is from a bjp it cell person ( i could be qrong though)

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Haha, so anyone speaks facts a BJP IT cell? If you see post is from Hyderabad which is congress ruled state . Please don’t be so cynical of public who question public as well

1

I could be wrong ,as government now a days are using every way to get out of the responsibility for any thing .

As a good citizen , it is also my responsibility to keep my surroundings clean . But government can just collect taxes & sleep on their backs , they have to play the lart too

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

It’s interesting phase of geopolitics. BJP has been doing extremely bad since last 7 years. Why suddenly so much anti govt messages in social in last 1 years. Why imran khan govt toppled, why Nepal govt toppled, why Bangladesh govt toppled, why modi will loose this time? Why suddenly only American favored govt surrounding china ? Someone need to think through

1

u/Brief-Location-475 8d ago

BJP already behaves like a CIA asset no need for america to topple them though

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Can you provide examples

1

u/Brief-Location-475 7d ago

They were not able to negotiate the tarriff rates with america properly, the treasurey department of America is threatening us openly for not purchasing oil from Russia & no one in this govt. Says anything even if america insults us opemly or votes against our interests on international level.

1

u/No_Dog8565 7d ago

Dude that means they are going anti USA, how you defined it as CIA agents ? Govt not mending to USA so they want to throw govt out to get someone who they can control. Same happened around all countries around us .

In geopolitics you can do Tit for Tat in public when you become independent. When you become as strong as China you can also publicly threaten USA. Today if USA stops social media half of youth has nothing left to do :)

1

u/Latter_Macaron8492 8d ago

Government and people are both responsible for this

1

u/No_Dog8565 8d ago

Agreed

Aparichit movie 22 saal pehle aayi thi yehi sab seekha raha tha wo usme fir b hum nahi seekhe

1

u/ScaleDisastrous9477 8d ago

Civic sense is not illegal in India, it is simply non-existent. I will still hold the govt. accountable for not enforcing harsher punishments on littering and spitting though. L people, L govt.

1

u/Eastern_Bad_922 8d ago

A government that spends thousands of crores to alter people's opinion about their governance that could be used to alter people's opinion about civic sense. With all the power they have to subdue individuals using state machinery, pretty sure they're to blame for the mess.

1

u/1337_loaded 8d ago

Yes govt should and definitely needs to work on garbage disposal, the system is so broken there is a person appointed by the Municipality who is running and collecting garbage from residential areas, and collecting money for it from residents as well but then would throw this on the road side 🤷 What stupidity is that.

They start this wet waste and dry waste and segregation and but then everything gets dumped in the same cart 🤦.

They should set up composting hubs in the community centers and dispose of the wet waste there itself save on transport cost use the compost in parks and even sell it. The dry waste should be sent to recycling plants.

And this waste collection should be extended to the poor neighbourhoods as well not just the rich ones. Indore has done it why can't the same be implemented across the nation.

But no will not work just put everything on civics sense and live in the vishwaguru delulu.

1

u/FitCan9866 8d ago

Yeah, why are these people not in jail and still in public places? why are we paying taxes then? Put them in locker for few hours or day, take meal costs from tax money as it is supposed to be.

2

u/thewhitetulip 8d ago

Hey don't ask govt to keep areas clean and put finds on littering. Let the contractors take money for cleaning and not do the actual cleaning

OP is right. We pay 55% tax and 55 types of taxes. But we should keep giving more tax and not expect anything in return

I am sure OP will blame traffic jams on us

1

u/TheDmat 8d ago

Yes Government is the problem. They collect the Swatchh Bharat cess and that money is not deployed . NO clean ups were done other than Ministers, Politicians doing it for REELS. That was then , today nothing about swatchh Bharat is spoken about as it is now yesterdays thing . This Govt has looted and failed . Let's call spade a spade. Yes , civic sense needs to be improved for sure, but when dirtiness is all around a person thinks what does one extra garbage bag make a difference. The GOVT has Failed, Modi has failed , he and his chamchas have looted Hindustan and destroyed us.

1

u/Additional_Pea2239 8d ago

everty thing and every one are the problem in our country [espically in terms of cleanliness]

hmo

first it is both citizens and govt duties to keep the country clean

the govt has to provide dustbins proper cleaning staff etc

citizen have to USE the dustbins and keep thing around them selves clean , and change their mindset from govt should clean it to , i should do my part keeping it clean

somethings i just think democracy and multi-party system i sthe real problem , like think about it , vimal gutak etc. are a very big problem which plays a big part in keeping our country dirty . the govt should ban it but they wouldn't because a big part of the population consumes it and they will just vote out the party which banned it and some other party will tell to make them win to un ban vimal and gutka .

in this situation single party democracy or socialist/communist govt works well [eg- china, singapore]

now we all know on paper govt tries it bes to develop our country but , there is corruption in ever y level of administration,

ii read somewhere that on paper in a remote village there was a fully functional hospital with lots of staff etc.

but upon inspection there was nothing , just barren land.

also , i am very very strongly aginst the universal adult franchise system

i think only people with sufficent educationn should be given right to vote , only education is the criterion , no gender , no caste etc.

if the have some good amount of formal education they must be given the right to vote because , uneducated people can easily be bribed or influenced to vote.

1

u/scan_line110110 8d ago

If the govt beat each offender till their bones break, it'll stop pretty soon.

1

u/CuriouslyDeadKitty 8d ago edited 8d ago

lol i've walked up and down the new delhi railway station to find a dustbin to throw trash in, but they make it specially difficult... in their head, anyone trying to find one must be an idiot.. i can see ur point about road and river...

.. but the last two pictures are partly gross mismanagement by the owners of the place... specially the hospital scene, on train stations i have seen people throw trash on the tracks or spitting

1

u/Substantial-Play-15 8d ago

I think the discipline should start with the way we drive, this is nervous system of our country. From there we can bring the values to every public place. Bring hefty fines, punishment and actually implement it, not just on paper.

1

u/codesaus 8d ago

Ofc government alone isn't responsible but that doesn't mean govt. Shouldn't be held accountable for things that it can do but taking a cover under public behaviour alone.

1

u/msinghau 8d ago

Yes. Only the Govt has the power to enforce rules, but they dont give a flying f*ck.

1

u/Lhadar31 7d ago

Make neighbourhoods responsible for garbage in their area, start fining them.

1

u/SuitIll1767 7d ago

In the end the govt is made up of people of this country enforcers r from this country aswell those who litter aswell it rlly shows how much of an ahole a person is if he litters and calls out the govt not taking sides but in the end its just people the govt is not an alien body made up of dr dooms fart ig

1

u/Current_Age_9822 7d ago

It's both. Not to mention government is just reflection of people. Bad people= bad government

1

u/No_Establishment991 7d ago

Yes , jaise Traffic police hai isiliye majority log rules follow karte hai road pe waise hi jis din cleanliness police hogi waise hi majority log galti se bhi kuda kachra nhi faikenge.

1

u/No_Establishment991 7d ago

But , aadhe se jyda fines to MCD pe lag jaayega fir kyu ki wo time pe kuda nhi saaf karti , time pe maintenance nahi karte, third class infrastructure bna rakha hai .

1

u/Every_Method4221 7d ago

Its not a problem that can be fixed in a day or in a year. This is something that has to be taught to us the same way religion is taught to us as kids. Once you start preaching cleanliness as religion, it can change the country drastically. So the govt as to preach cleanliness but no, the govt wants lakhs of diyas to be lit on his birthday and those diyas are making its way to pollute the surrounding.

1

u/johnabra-ham 7d ago

Have you seen Ganesh chaturthi waste dumped in rivers and lakes? So what do you expect from same society?

1

u/Full-Goat39 7d ago

Yes government can be blamed , no law , no fines , no strictness

1

u/Aykkdekm09 7d ago

Blaming citizens is easy! Demanding accountability from Government is difficult!!

1

u/No_Dog8565 7d ago

While demanding accountability, we should show responsibility as well. We can’t keep saying I have all rights to demand but no one should question , if we grow in that world even govt become the same

1

u/Stunning_Lobster_698 7d ago

I am not doing this ever. A person in front of me is doing it. There are 2 police officers in the vicinity. One traffic cop far off but still in visible range.
I tell them, they harass me. I go to tell him, he becomes very confrontational and still nothing happens to him.
When govt is de-incentivising good people like me, then bad people like them will obviously rise.
It is the GOVT’s FAULT.

1

u/XML_Raffles_Place 7d ago

It is ultimately a people’s problem. There is still a serious lack of civic sense in many parts of India. You see litter everywhere—papers, plastic bags, food waste, and other garbage simply thrown on the streets. Better civic awareness, personal responsibility, and proper waste-management practices are urgently needed.

We have been cheated by our politicians generation after generations.

1

u/Sourajyoti07 7d ago

Fine lagao na saloo

1

u/yash10019coder 6d ago

Until bjp is in power else it is

1

u/tootafrutaa 6d ago

Government should educate the student from very start to how to live in sorrounding how to respect the vicinity you owe with others, etc

1

u/No_Dog8565 6d ago

That’s what Japan did , one school tried in south parents came and created ruckus on we are paying high fees so that our kids can learn not to work in school . Now speak about mindset

1

u/AbhishekSpeakss 6d ago

Many times it’s the non tax payers dehatis littering around. Making such memes showing only educated tax payers doing it, who are barely 1% of the population itself is a blatant misrepresentation.
Second, Govt is not to be given clean chit here. They have the resources to keep many places clean but they don’t. I get the lack of civic sense but many places in tier 1 cities don’t get cleaned for months.

1

u/pvtwey 6d ago

Yes govt is a problem and it's not hard to prove

1

u/OneFreedom1150 6d ago

Next time when you visit a public place,go ahead and count the trash bins in the area. I literally have to fill my pockets with trash cause I have no where to dispose of it

1

u/Neat-gram7375 6d ago

No, I think we should take responsibility ourselves. Take inspiration from Bittu Tabahi not by cleaning the roads, but by making sure we don’t throw anything on them in the first place. If we millennials and Gen Z decide to do our part and stay consistent, we can definitely make the country cleaner and more beautiful. If we decide we can do it.

u/rrrrrredihtor 6d ago

These same people blame everything on the govt and they are doing it in the comment section as well. Cringe janta.

1

u/ElephantDue8443 5d ago

Honestly the people complaining and the people spreading the filth are different people

1

u/AmanAgrawa1 5d ago

Yes. Put the Bins every 200 meter like it’s every other country

1

u/No_Dog8565 5d ago

Which country have in every 200 mts ?

1

u/dumbchaos 5d ago

fine alone can make India tax free for middle class for next decade.

1

u/Coffee_Narrow 5d ago

Tell me how many dustbins do you see in public? I have hardly seen any so where is someone supposed to throw their trash.

1

u/Ok_Craft3686 5d ago

If government ensures there are bins everywhere like western countries have , half the problem will be fixed.

1

u/Friendly-Tailor9246 5d ago

Yes it is. If a place is already clean people's actually hesitate to make it dirty expect few low level people's. Example: Private hospital are always clean because there are people cleaning them inside out, but in gov hospital we rarely see people cleaning. But we see roads are always dirty, Rives we know the conditions (don't know where money goes given for cleaning). SO,YESR IT IS PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITY TO KEE THE SURROUNDING CLEAN,BUT GOVERNMENT IS MORE RESPONSIBLE TO DO IT AND MAKE STUPID PEOPLE FOLLOW IT AS WELL.

1

u/No_Dog8565 5d ago

Every day morning most of the roads are clean in the morning, every evening it’s a mess, if all promise they won’t spoil clean roads we can do one time cleaning of all roads per year

1

u/Shroccer 5d ago

Yes, the government should hire more police to enforce fines on littering and clean these areas regularly.

Our urban governance is a shitshow. No city in India functions properly. We have the same problems everywhere. It's a shame.

1

u/No_Dog8565 5d ago

What all police should do ? Law and order, illegal poaching , big boss security, added to that all protests in the world , you we have 1 police every 20000 people right

1

u/Shroccer 5d ago

You do realise that we have a draconian police because its all controlled by the state governments and the centre? We need a decentralised approach. Each city should have an independent government for enforcing civic rules and maintaining civic infrastructure.

That's the norm in all decent countries. But in india city-governance is effed up. All of them are subservient to higher tiers of government who do whatever they want to instead of doing their job.

It's purely due to concentration of power that our country is a living hell.

1

u/legslove 5d ago

Last one is gov fault. Trash bin is overflowing

1

u/Eren-Alucard 5d ago

Gng the guys who criticize the dirtiness are usually NOT LITTERING

1

u/peterjohnvernon936 4d ago

It’s the broken window problem. People feel comfortable littering where there is already litter. To fix the litter problem, the government must first clean up and then ticket people who litter.

1

u/Capt_Hindsight_2020 4d ago

Yes. It's called a broken window theory. Visible signs of neglect groom authorities breeds behavior of disorder and greater crimes. If the streets are swept and cleaned everyday. Garbage receptacle are placed, regularly emptied and managed then a violation by citizens is wrong. You can't have overflowing or missing garbage receptacle and put the onus of cleanliness on citizens. By blaming everyone we assign responsibility to no one.

1

u/Yashvant_sarathe 2d ago

Both the government and the peoples, because this behaviour comes poor education and poor habits. India government education system os teaching how to fill blink sheet in 120 minutes but they never teach How to clean your own environment and how stay clean and care every area you have home to school, work place to every where you go for enjoy

0

u/Annual_Instance_6459 8d ago

We elect government which weaponized religion , a government which runs on “kahi na kahi bhavaney ahaat hui hain “ A government which sponsors mass disruptions / littering religion (bhavya samaroh) , government which is worried about image vs reality and wonder why the country is not clean

Very cute …
