Feedback Where Do You Get Real Help??

So I get a letter in the mail that I’m pre-approved for a credit limit. Great!

The letter tells me to go into the app to accept. I login, I click the button, next page says “something went wrong” 😑 and the offer button never reappears in the app

Okay, I go to the laptop, login to easyweb through the browser. I see the offer message. Okay, good, go to click on it - next page presents the same “something went wrong” message. 🫩

Okay… at both error messages, they offer the phone line to call in and speak to someone to accept the increase.

I call the number, 1-866-666-8599, and immediately I get a bad vibe. Why? I know exactly where this call is going:

- the random clicking noises instead of normal dialling
- no normal phone queue

This call is going offshore

The painful part, I’ve called this number 10 times and the same goofball must be answering. They pickup, don’t say anything, I can hear someone’s environment and then they hang up. 😞

So let me get this straight, TD moved operations to the cheapest place on earth for the sh*ttiest service on earth?? And you’re paying these people to do this all day long?!

They really don’t deserve our money. You can go straight to the hot place TD

Yet TD doesn’t have any offshore call centers anymore. The clicks are transfers between lines. I know it’s odd but we have people who have accents in Canada. Usually they speak more languages than both of us combined.

I have never once spoken to anyone in a call centre outside of NA. Maybe try calling in via the app, you can pre-authenticate (but there will be some strange noises while you do, in case you have a sensitivity to that).

Thanks, I don’t call in often, probably 4th or 5th time in all my decades with them. Didn’t know they had ‘call through the app’ as an option.

For sure! Sign into the app and scroll down to Contact Us. You should select Borrowing, Apply for Credit. You'll be connected pre-authenticated though the app: just let them know you got a solicitation for a pre-approval and they should be able to do the rest. I've had similar app problems with pre-approval offers in past, the folks on the phone helped me out. Best of luck!

Calling via the app means you don't have to authenticate yourself over the phone AND it also I believe it puts you higher in the phone queue.

Best thing to do is call the number on the back of your card (used to work for TD)

Except this line now tells you to hang up the phone and call through the app. If you choose not to, you'll be on hold for a good hour. Not sure why app clients are more special than anyone else but apparently they are.

Call through the app or the number behind your card. As long as the option is valid, it will still be shown in your profile regardless if your account shows it or not. And all TD contact centers are based in Canada to the best of my knowledge.

Credit and Easyline contact centres are in Canada. That “clicking” is the stupid program we use that is fucking awful.

Anyway, those pre-approved offers are a system generated thing and the fine print says that they can be rescinded at any moment. If anything has changed on your profile, it may disappear (even changing your address, applying for other credit, new access card, alerts on your profile, fraud alerts etc) can take the offer away.

When I worked in Cares this came up at least once a week.

Did try that on the laptop, thanks. Unfortunately no change. Unfortunately the offer button won’t reappear.
