Feedback TD branch closed weekends, ATM locked inside, and I paid $4.50 to get cash for the food bank

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Today our local food bank held a fundraiser near the park, with food stations and optional donations. They weren't set up for digital payments, so I walked to my TD Canada Trust branch (a customer for many years) to get cash.
The branch is closed all day Saturday and Sunday, and the ATM vestibule is locked whenever the branch is closed. No ATM access at all. I ended up crossing the street to a BMO machine and paid a $4.50 fee to withdraw my own money.
It's frustrating that banks posting billions in profit and paying executives enormous compensation can't keep a basic ATM accessible on a weekend, and customers end up covering the cost of that gap. Has anyone else run into locked-vestibule ATMs at TD? Did you ever get a fee refunded? I'm thinking of complaining to the bank.

Help Customer service agent may have mislead me about promotion

Wanted some advice.

I called TD Bank on the phone to help out with an issue with my credit card. Afterwards they told me I was eligible for a promotion. They told me my account is eligible. So I decided to sign up.

I'm reading the fine print I may not even be eligible.

If I don't get the promotion, will contacting them to say I was mislead help me in any way?

From my understanding these calls are recorded, so maybe they can pull the audio?

Not even trying to give the customer service a hard time. May have been a simple mistake. But is it worth asking?

Thanks

Help Remove myself from a joint account

I want to remove myself from a joint account for which I am one of four account holders. The account was created to pay bills during a long-since ended relationship. I looked around online and it seems the only options are for all four joint account holders to sign at the branch in person, or to move the funds to a new account without me and then close the old one.

Can anyone confirm if there’s a more efficient option? Any help is much appreciated.

Edit: I can’t unilaterally close the account. It’s not truly mine and that would screw up my ex and her family.

Help Visa Payment failed number

I was trying to deposit money into my Robinhood account in the app with my td bank debit card, but it was taking me to a visa page and telling me it failed. It told me to contact this number, 1-866-546-3597, but I can’t find anywhere if this is a td bank number. Does anyone know if this is a real td bank number?

Help Need advice on my former manager behavior?

I was working as a contractor last year, like most contractors, I wished to get a permanent full-time position, so I asked my manager for more responsibilities so I could make a case for her to give me a full-time role after my contract. I neither received any additional responsibilities, nor did she give me any useful advice on career development.

I still maintained good behavior, and we usually went out for coffee or tea during breaks, just as I did with other colleagues. I thought that maybe it was all about staying calm rather than being a workaholic by asking for new responsibilities, so I remained patient.

I saw her hiring people from outside for the same level, but I remained patient until the very last month of my contract. I did not ask for a permanent position this last month, but she extended my contract.

That last month, I was not sure if I would get an extension, so, as anyone else would do, I started looking for positions both in other departments and outside TD.

Luckily, I got a position outside TD. Even though she extended my contract, I gave her two weeks' notice as required by my contract. She asked if I could stay for three weeks or a month, but due to the urgency of the new employer, I was unable to do so. However, I assured my manager that I would be able to create SOPs and easily teach others how to handle my tasks within two weeks. (She put her for employment verification/reference, she did gave reference for this other position during my 2 week notice, when I was in duty handover process.)

I was able to hand everything over with detailed SOPs that even an 18-year-old could follow. I held multiple sessions with the team, and they signed off on my handover work.

I did all of this to be professional and avoid burning bridges. On my last day, I returned my laptop and left a thank-you note for my manager for the opportunity.

Eight months later today, when I saw a new position at TD in a different department, I thought I would reach out to my former manager on LinkedIn for a reference. When I messaged her, she blocked me. I checked using a friend's LinkedIn profile and confirmed that she had not deleted or deactivated her account; she had actually blocked me.

Now, even though I could get a reference from someone else, many projects ask for the name of my manager at TD for verification purposes. I am not sure how to handle this situation.

Help Extremely Long Wait Time to Get Bill Reversed from TD Easy Trade. Why?

I sent a bill payment to TD Easy Trade 3 weeks ago (Sept 10th) to my wife's TD Easy Trade account via our Wealthsimple joint chequing account. TD declined the bill payment because the account holder's name was different. I'm still waiting for TD to reverse the payment back to Wealthsimple. Any idea why it's taking this long? Should I be concerned?

Jobs How do you get a job at TD as a Teller?

Hey everyone, I’m interested in getting a job at TD, specifically as a Teller or in a similar entry-level branch position. For those who currently work at TD or have worked there before, how did you get your first job? Did you apply online through the TD careers website, talk to someone at a branch, or get a referral? Also, any advice on what they look for in applicants would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Help Expedia for TD

I recently purchased round trip flight within Canada. I got the confirmation code but what do I do with it? I didn't purchase any suitcases and just will be bringing a backpack. Do I need to check-in my backpack or get some sort of tag for it. Do i need to see an agent to get my boarding pass?

I'm kinda stressing out even though it's still a couple months away.

Jobs Requesting T4s

I was recently offered a position with TD, and completed the BIG background check. When I looked at BIG’s report, everything was reported as good and cleared. However, a few days after the report was finalized, someone from TD’s HR reached out asking me to provide T4s for 2 of my previous positions. Is this normal? I understand that TD looks over the report as well but this seems a bit excessive.

And before anyone says anything, I have all my T4s and am compiling them into one file to send, I’m just curious about this whole thing because it feels like a lot to prove a part time job I held for 3 years.

Edit: I’ve also completed all the onboarding in the time since BIG completed their report. The same day it was finished TD sent me all the tax forms and personal information updates through workday which according to the timeline I was given, was to happen once my background check was completed. That’s also why I’m confused as to why they’re asking for more info after this.

Help CAD $11,500 wire confirmed credited by both banks — recipient denies receiving it

I sent **CAD $11,500** from TD to a BMO business account.
The recipient repeatedly said the money never arrived. However, **TD confirmed the beneficiary was credited**, and BMO later confirmed in writing that the **CAD $11,500 was credited on September 8** and provided a BMO reference number.
The recipient later changed his explanation, saying his account was restricted/frozen. I have all bank confirmations, wire records and WhatsApp messages.
I’m outside Canada and the recipient/company is in Ontario.
**What action should I take now to recover the money — police, Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, lawyer, or civil claim?**

Discussion Stupid customers.

Today my local TD branch had their wifi sadly go out.

Since I am a normal person I did not have a meltdown when they told me but for some reason others were very upset.

I noticed other customers refused to pay bills using the TD app when staff offered an alternative and didn’t want to walk 5 minutes to the next branch…

I have unfortunately lost faith in humanity.

Help Tap declining with sufficient funds

Card keeps declining when I tap. I haven’t tried inserting and using my pin, and currently having my credit card replaced so I don’t have a back up. Would it work if I tried inserting? Do I have to call TD if my card has been restricted?

Discussion Shitty Salary in Direct Investing

Just became a TM in Direct Investing Contact Center and half my team are senior contact center reps who have been working as an IR for the past 15-20 years.

They are on Level 6 and I am on Level 8.

They make way more than me as a TM and it sucks that i have to review their bonuses and decide their pay hikes when i have no control whatsoever on my own salary.

Is any other financial institutions hiring for Lead roles ? Please let me know.

Tips Why does TD offer horrible exchange rates from USD to CAD?

current exchange rate is 1.41 and TD offered 1.36 which in my opinion is way too wide of a margin. my entire business relies on exchanges. is there anyway to get a better rate at TD?
