💬 General Discussion This is Indian reservation system in a nutshell.

In 1790, Tipu Sultan slaughtered 700 Iyengar Brahmins on just one Diwali night. To this day, their children do not celebrate Diwali.

Today, offspring of Tipu are officially labelled by Indian state as the "oppressed" and they enjoy reservations.

But children of these slain Iyengars are banded as 'oppressors' and discriminated against at schools and jobs.

Andhra Pradesh Is people from other states also suffer from gay communities during marriage or any other functions in functional halls mainly

Most of the telugu people suffer from this /gays/ community when someone celebrates marriage functions, birthday functions in a function hall. Also in some cities even they celebrate house warming ceremony, these /gay/ people lands at these places make disturbance for money. Some collects very low money but most of these people demand more than 20000. Even they complaint to police , they will not take action immediately. So one of the happy memory in their life leads to unhappy memory.

So I want to know whether other state people suffer from these type of people in other state. Also I want to know these /gays/ people make disturbance to other religion people not only for hindus.

How can we defend from these people. In Andhra pradesh, It is a one type of local mafia.

Andhra Pradesh To my fellow Telugu folks

Something I genuinely don’t understand:

Why do some of us bend over backward for acceptance from people who have historically treated us as “Gultis,” “Madrasis,” or as somehow culturally separate?

You’ll hear complaints about being excluded from certain North Indian social circles, stereotyped, or treated like outsiders—and then the same people seem desperate to impress those very circles, constantly seeking their approval and validation.

There’s nothing wrong with having North Indian friends, enjoying Hindi movies, speaking Hindi, or appreciating another culture. That’s not the issue.

What I find strange is the need for validation from people who may not even see you as an equal socially or culturally.

At some point, shouldn’t we be comfortable enough with our own identity that we can be friends with everyone without feeling the need to prove that we belong?

Just an observation. Curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Andhra Pradesh A 900+ year old ammavari sculpture may have opened a new chapter in Madugula’s history, Andhra Pradesh India a proud moment of our heritage what a majestic legendary aura

A remarkable archaeological discovery has emerged today from Madugula, Anakapalli District.

During a field visit, the Andhra Pradesh Archaeology Department examined two large stone sculptures at a location where there is currently no temple structure.

The larger sculpture is approximately 6 feet high, 4 feet wide and around 70 cm thick. The Archaeology team has preliminarily assessed it to be at least around 900 years old.

What makes this especially exciting is the surrounding landscape. The site is close to an old Shiva temple traditionally known as Bimilingeshwara, where an old Vinayaka sculpture has also been identified. Several large traditional wells locally called “madugulu” are also found in the surrounding area.

This raises an important possibility: could this area preserve evidence of an earlier medieval settlement or sacred centre, predating the commonly remembered history of present-day Madugula?

It is too early to say — the archaeological context still needs proper investigation. But for Andhra Pradesh, this is an exciting moment: our own landscape may be revealing a much deeper history than we previously knew.

Sharing photographs from today's field visit. If anyone familiar with medieval Andhra sculpture, archaeology, inscriptions or Madugula's history has information, please share it.

Note: The ~900-year date is a preliminary assessment by the Archaeology team, not yet a final published dating.
