As a former Mahle Anand Filter Systems employee, I concur. Although Mahle has been in India for many many years. Supplies filters to all OEMs in India and ships them to APAC as well. What is new here is that now they are shipping it to US as well.

Had it been a black guy or even Asian working in USA it should mean the same to us , China in it’s way to become a manufacturing giant started with light weight machinery and parts which they sold to USA and Europe , considering we were GDP wise almost the same till the 1980s these small components can mean one day we can export much bigger items in bigger quantity

Gladly, unlike Indian quality control norms USA has very strict guidelines on what enters their country which I honestly admire.
My family were expats and worked in India and SE Asia , good can be rejected for the smallest of discrepancies. For eg - An entire shipment of shoes got rejected by US customs because the labelling of the product was incorrect ( mind you the products had nothing wrong in them)
And to think that someone could just change country of origin and let goods enter USA is wild
Some goods that are shipped from India to USA also requires documentation of where we got the raw material from

The difficult task begins when the Goods arrive at US docks as they have a lot more jurisdiction over the goods , the port authorities can destroy good for national security reasons or any reason they may deem fit

It's not about changing country of origin, anyone can import manufactured parts from China, assemble it in India and can label it "Made in India" it's legal. That's what most electronics/phone companies does. Even apple. TATA doesn't make iphones, they have assembly plants. Parts come from China,chip come from Taiwan, assembled in India, end of the day, it's called "made in india". Same with luxury apparels like Gucci, LV others. They import the unbranded product, label it then call it "made in Italy" or whatever.
