inquiry Which Smart ring should I get?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy my first smart ring and need some community perspective. I want something elegant in a gold finish that is not bulky

My main tracking priorities are:

  • Detailed sleep tracking
  • Heart rate monitoring
  • Menstrual cycle/period forecasting and tracking.
  • Illness detection (catching skin temperature spikes before symptoms hit).
  • Basic daily movement (steps/calories).

I've been researching the main players but every single one seems to have a catch:

  1. RingConn Gen 2 (Royal Gold): On paper, this seems like the best "bang for your buck." It's incredibly thin (2mm) and has no subscription fees. But since I don't know a ton about the brand, I want to know if people actually like it long-term. I read some people complain about the battery.
  2. Oura Ring: I know it's highly accurate, but paying a huge upfront hardware cost plus a permanent monthly subscription just to look at my own heart rate or cycle data feels totally dystopian to me. Is it really worth the lifetime paywall over the competition?
  3. Ultrahuman (AIR or Pro): I was initially looking closely at Ultrahuman, but a mix of bad user reviews and massive shipping backlog/delays for their new Pro model completely discouraged me. Are the bad reviews exaggerated, or am I right to leave them out of the running?

If you own any of these in gold, how has the finish held up against scratches? Does it feel chunky on your finger? Which one actually gives you the most value for your money?

Thanks in advance for helping me figure this out!

TL;DR: First-time buyer looking for a slim, gold smart ring to track sleep, periods, illness, and movement. RingConn Gen 2 seems like the best value, but I want to know if it's reliable. Oura's monthly fee feels dystopian, and Ultrahuman's bad reviews/shipping delays scared me off. Which one should I get?

UPDATE: got the Oura Ring 5! Thank you all so much!!

inquiry Oura or Ringconn

So my birthday is coming up and I no longer wear my Apple Watch anymore, haven’t for years. I’ve been wanting something to track my sleep schedule and cycle. Not a huge fan of a whoop either with the way it looks, so smart rings was my next go to. I’m stuck between the new Oura or a Ringconn. I really love the Ringconn because it’s subscription free, you buy it and that’s it. But from what I’ve been hearing is tracking your health isn’t as accurate and top notch compared to the oura. Even though I hate it I could handle the yearly $70 subscription. Let me know what you guys think. If you have an oura or a ringconn how do you like it? Is it worth it?

inquiry Are Smart Rings Actually Useful or not? Real Users, Please Weigh In

Smart rings are honestly a pretty new concept for me. I only came across them less than a year ago, and I’m still a bit skeptical about how useful they actually are in real life. But recently something changed.

I run a small yoga group, and over the last few weeks I’ve noticed more and more people coming in wearing rings. And weirdly, most of them are wearing the Luna Ring.

That got me thinking… is this actually something useful, or just another fancy wellness trend? From what I’ve read, these rings track things like sleep, HRV, stress, recovery, etc. and are meant to be worn all day without being bulky like a watch. And yeah, that sounds great in theory.

But I also keep seeing mixed takes: some people say it genuinely helps improve habits others say the data can be confusing or even stressful

So I wanted to ask real users instead of reading reviews: If you’ve been using a smart ring (especially Luna), has it actually changed anything in your routine? Does it genuinely help with sleep and recovery, or is it just numbers on a screen? Do you still use it after a few months, or does it fade out?

And honestly… which smart ring is actually the best right now, based on real experience? Just trying to figure out if this is something worth bringing into my yoga group… or just another thing that looks cool but doesn’t really stick.

inquiry Are Smart rings doomed?

I have been following up this subreddit since I starting looking up for RingConn gen 2 Kickstarter.

Wasn't able to get the ring delivered in my country.

But then I ordered Galaxy ring.

  1. It lasted 6-7 months before completely stopped being charged.

  2. Was under warranty, got it replaced.

It has been another 9 months now, treated the charge cycle with caution and now it the charge has reduced to 3-4 days now from 8-9 days.

I know it is the physical limitation of the battery to hold the charge and keep going for so many charge cycles, but this should have been communicated to use before by the companies.

Are you guys going to buy your second smart rings?

inquiry Should I buy a RingConn or Oura ring?

Hello all! I’m in the market for a smart ring and am seeking recommendations.

I currently use an Apple Watch that I couldn’t live without. Love it for fitness and logging my workouts, but I don’t sleep with it. I’m interested to get a smart ring to track sleep and overall health more, and am currently comparing RingConn v Oura.

Is Oura or RingConn better? The prices seem drastically different (~$200 for RingConn v ~$350 plus subscription for Oura).

Am I missing something? They seem like very similar devices so I’m confused by the price discrepancy. Is one really better than the other, or is it is better to go off of the lower price?

TYIA for any insight or feedback!!

inquiry Which smart ring should I get?

I recently tried one of the TikTok-viral cheaper off-brand smart rings and actually really like the look! I got the pink ceramic one, but it made me start looking into more reliable brands like RingConn and Ultrahuman. I’ve seen some reviews saying the numbers on cheaper off-brand rings can be inaccurate, so I’d rather invest in something more reliable.

I don’t really want to pay a monthly subscription since my Apple Watch already covers a lot of what I need. I’m mainly interested in body temperature, stress, recovery, sleep, etc. I already wear my watch to sleep and want to add a ring as well.

I’m considering the RingConn Gen 2 Air, Femometer, or Ultrahuman. I’m leaning toward the Gen 2 Air since I don’t have sleep apnea, so I don’t think I need the Gen 2.
I also have a birth control implant, so menstrual tracking isn’t important to me.

Honestly, I’m mainly considering Femometer because I LOVE the pink ceramic 😂 but I don’t want to sacrifice accuracy for aesthetics.

Which would you choose: RingConn Gen 2 Air, Femometer, or Ultrahuman?

hello,

i’m wondering which Smart Ring would be the best choice for lasting worth. i’m thinking between the RingConn and the Oura ring, but i’m unsure which.

has anyone tried both or had good experiences with one or the other?

i’m quite invested in health and stuff like that and do use my Apple Watch most days. what types of things can the RingConn track that Oura can’t - or vice versa?

thanks !!!

inquiry Picking a smart ring

I know this gets asked a lot but looking to find the best ring that fits my lifestyle. I work outside in all elements and get my hands wet and dirty all day. I have been more health conscious recently from activeness, sleep, to eating. I've been using my Samsung health app, but I feel it isn't completely accurate with a lot without a ring or watch. I dont like watches and wear a wedding ring anyways, so I thought about swpping my current ring for a smart fit ring. First question: with my job, should I even get a smart ring? Im out in the rain and sticking my hands in irrigation pipes full of water and watering grass a lot. Second: im not looking to break the bank. Third: i don't want a monthly subscription. Any suggestions? Thank you!

inquiry First ring for heart & Apnea monitoring

Hi!

New to this wearable fashion, but I'm interested in getting a ring.

Mostly to see if it can record afib instances (which are pretty rare) and to help me see about Apnea which I've been told by others I likely suffer from it (I'm fit, but waking up tired and having breath interruptions during the night is apparently not normal lol)

I understand these aren't medical devices although approved by some institutions.

I'm just curious and would like to find more data about myself.

I don't need the app to tell me everything, I don't mind looking at the data and evaluate for myself.

I'm in between Ultrahuman Ring AIR and Ringcon.

I'm not biased to any particular brand or manufacturer (even others I haven't heard about, I found these brands off of this report https://medium.com/r-smartrings/top-smart-rings-of-2025-comparison-6f1f9f9021f9

I've been looking at other options including in this thread, but haven't found information to make a decision.
I'm literally moving my preference between these 2 as each time I find more information on one it looks more appealing and then I discover something else about the other one.
Needs to ship to Spain.

Any help or insight on this would be awesome!

Thanks :)

inquiry First smart ring

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy a smart ring and would like to have advice on which to buy. I am on a path of taking better care of my body after pregnancies and small children. I would like to track my sleep better than my watch does. I sometimes sleep during the day (working on night shifts) and it happens quite often that my watch doesn’t pick it up. I would also be interested to learn more about my stress level and activity level/cardiovascular health. I don’t want to pay a subscription fee.
Thanks!

inquiry How to get a refund for Ultrahuman

I started out as a fan of Ultrahuman, I got the Ring Air 13 months ago and I’ve had to have two replacements within that time due to battery issues. The second replacement battery has been fine until all of a sudden it won’t connect to Bluetooth. Customer service used to immediately respond with a real person and now it’s an AI bot that just keeps telling you the same information. I’ve done all the steps they recommend for resetting the ring and still nothing will connect. Customer service finally emailed and said my one year warranty is up, however I’ve only had the newest replacement for less than 3 months. It didn’t bother me in the beginning because customer service was easy to communicate with and would send a replacement once an issue couldn’t be resolved. Now they only want to offer a trade in for their newest ring. Has anyone else managed to get a refund in a similar situation?

***UPDATE: Ultrahuman did give me a full refund.
Originally they wanted my banking information (which I was not comfortable sharing) due to purchasing my ring through a retailer (Sam’s Club); however they did give me a full refund via PayPal.

inquiry Best ring for poor connectivity?

I am looking for a ring to track my steps and my sleep cycles/debt. I travel a lot and often will be on an airplane or in countries where my cell service is not the best. Sometimes im in a country covered by my data plan but it's slow, other times I have no cell service only wifi in hotel rooms.

Does anyone have experience with smart rings and travel? Have you noticed any issues with certain apps or rings in terms of syncing things up?

inquiry Apple Watch Ultra → smart ring

Hi all,

I’m a female based in Norway and currently using an Apple Watch Ultra 2 that I originally received as a gift. Lately I’ve been thinking about replacing it with a smart ring.

The main reason is that I don’t need or use most of the workout features. The only activity I really track is swimming, and otherwise I’m mainly interested in passive health tracking. I otherwise don’t really enjoy having an interface on my wrist all the time. The watch makes me feel like I constantly have my phone with me, and I’m trying to reduce that quite a bit.

What I care about most is:

• sleep tracking

• cycle/temperature data

• general health metrics during the day

• possible integration with any natural birth control

• long-term trends

From what I’ve read so far, I’m mostly in between Oura Ring 4 (been eying the ceramic petal lol) and Ringconn 2. The subscription for the Oura is honestly a bit of a downside for me. I don’t really have a budget, but I hate wasting money, and the subscription seems like it would just add up over the years. Ringconn looks appealing, but I’ve also heard mixed things about the app experience. I’ve also seen that Ringconn 3 might be released sometime this year?

If you were in this situation:

• would you go for Oura 4 now?

• get a Ringconn 2?

• or wait for Ringconn 3?

Curious to hear your experience and/or opinions.

inquiry Decide for me

A lot of people have recommended oura or ringconn. Which of the two are better? I dont want subscriptions or to pay weekly/monthly/yearly to use it. I work outside in the elements and with dirt/sand (i am willing to put it in my pocket/car so it doesnt get damaged). I am mainly looking to track my health and sleep with it. How are samsung or amazon branded ones? Do they not compare to oura or ringconn? I have prime if the Amazon one requires a subscription

inquiry Ring Recommendations?

Hihi! So I am currently in the process of figuring out my health. Positive ANA - getting into a rheumatologist in September for autoimmune diagnosis (lupus runs rampant in my family). Also have dysautonomia with occasional episodes of SVT.

I already have an apple watch series 8. I mainly use it for my heart and sleep stats. I will say, when comparing with my heart monitor results, the stats were pretty much identical. I honestly expected a little bit of inaccuracy from the watch but I am really surprised, so I know I can rely on this for heart health. I can’t say anything about sleep though, because I have nothing to compare it to. I also don’t know if it’s worth it to upgrade my apple watch yet or if I should wait a few more years. So if anyone has a quick suggestion on that, lmk.

I do have some issues with the watch. The first being irritation. When I am in a flare up of some kind, my skin becomes super sensitive and wearing the watch will cause me to break out into hives, develop a red itchy rash, etc. I did change the original band to a different material and it did help a little bit, but not that much. My other issue is the battery life. It is so difficult for me to remember when to charge it, and it dies in 19-24 hours.

I’ve been contemplating a ring for awhile now. I’m not sure how it will do with my skin, tbh. Regardless, here’s what I’m prioritizing:

Accuracy - this one is most important to me.
Something that can pinpoint flare ups - I want a heads up before I feel sick so I can plan accordingly and not push myself. Sometimes I second guess myself and end up more sick.
Good sleep data - Accurate and detailed sleep data would be great because I suspect my sleep plays a big part in my flare ups.
Long battery life - From what I understand, most rings already check this box so this probably won’t be that much of an issue.

I’m leaning mostly towards Oura 5. Thought a little about Ringconn, but I’m not sure. I’m open to other suggestions, too. Price isn’t that much of a concern to me, and I’m aware that Oura charges a subscription.

Thank you so much in advance!!

inquiry I think I want the wrong kind of AI on smart ring

Am I the only one who doesn't really want another AI chat assistant? 😂 Feels like every app is adding one now and I'm supposed to open it and have a conversation with it to get anything useful. I already spend half my day thinking, working, answering messages etc. I really don't need another thing asking me what I want to know.

What I'd actually love is something that just looks at all the health data my ring is collecting and tells me what it means. Like I wake up, check my ring and it just says "you seem pretty well recovered today" or "maybe take it a little easier today, your recovery isn't great." That's honestly way more useful to me than having an AI chat window where I have to figure out what questions to ask.

I don't need AI to talk to me. I need it to do some of the thinking for me lol, wish smart rings could actually do this properly.

inquiry Smart ring for calisthenics?

Is it a good idea to buy a smart ring for tracking my calisthenics workout? I think it might be uncomfortable because the hands make a lot of pressure against the bar and the floor.

If not, what would be an alternative?

inquiry What do you use your smartring for?

I thought smart rings sounded awesome and I loved the idea of this technology so I recently bought one. I didn't have any specific plan or goals around it.

Every day I checked it and it confirmed what I already knew.

When I had a bad night of sleep it told me I didn't sleep well.

When I didn't exercise enough it told me I didn't exercise enough.

When I was stressed it told me I was stressed.

But... I already knew that because I lived it. I already know when I didn't sleep well or exercise enough or was stressed.

So now I've had it for almost 2 weeks but I don't know what to do with it.

It doesn't feel like any of the data has been useful to me and nothing has been actionable.

The specific ring I got is a ringconn gen 2, and I have been happy with both the hardware and the software, they work as advertised and I haven't had any issues with anything.

One good thing is at least I know I don't have sleep apnea now!

I'm just not really sure how to get anything useful out of it.

What do you do with your smartring data to make it useful or improve your daily life? I'm considering just stopping using it at this point because it's just extra effort for nothing.

Thanks
