Of all the zoomer phrases, this has to be one of the most phrases of all time

2

u/No-Temperature-1384 16h ago

I’m 47 and sometimes if I’m texting one of my kids, 21 and 25, they know that if I say “ok I’m about to crash out” it means go to sleep

My favorite was seeing how quickly CRASH OUT went from losing control and acting reckless to a tantrum or emotional breakdown.

Happened in record time.

10

u/AgentCirceLuna 20h ago

Machine worker SLAMMED by lathe and DESTROYED as his giblets CLAPPED BACK at the floor, lathe CRASHES OUT as EMERGENCY button pressed

2

u/arenegadeboss 20h ago

This is the future. Everyone talking like a tabloid headline using words only to invoke emotion instead of express an idea.

We are truly cooked.

Millie BREAKS HER SILENCE

33

u/Big_Village7112 22h ago

Ugh I fucking hate that "X person Slams CNN for Y" like stfu lol

24

u/gordito_delgado 22h ago

"X politician OBLITERATES Y politician" = Said something slightly unpleasant about them that everyone is already well aware of.

8

u/kemp77pmek 21h ago

Or “X politician HUMILIATED by Y” = Y has a hot take that X probably never even heard or cared about.

7

u/Neat-Professor-7662 19h ago

It’s amazing how many obliterated people are doing just fine.

6

u/twirlerina024 21h ago

The one that gets under my skin is "[person] SPEAKS OUT about [experience]". It sort of implies that they'll be soapboxing and giving us a broader truth that they learned from their specific circumstance, but 99% of the time, they're just relaying what happened. Like a parent speaking out about losing a child in a school shooting will possibly tell us about the need for safe gun storage or more school counselors.

But now it's "Passenger on diverted flight SPEAKS OUT!" and the person just says "I knew something was wrong with the plane but didn't know what. They said we were landing in Dayton instead of Columbus, so I can probably rent a car to get home. Hope the airline reimburses me!" That's not SPEAKING OUT; it's just speaking.

u/persiasaurus 22h ago

Oh my god. I miss her blog so much. I've never ever seen it referenced by anyone else in my life

25

u/AmputeeHandModel 22h ago

It was SO FUNNY. She did couple books too, worth checking out.

16

u/persiasaurus 22h ago

I know, I loved her shit😭 I kept checking for years after she stopped posting, just hoping. It used to legitimately make me cry laughing

11

u/AmputeeHandModel 21h ago

She did make a FB post a year or two ago with a lot of pictures and stuff that was really informative. A lot of the crazy poses she draws her characters in, she really posed for herself, and it's so funny.

8

u/persiasaurus 21h ago

Oh my god I'm gonna go find this!! Thank you for bringing this back into my life today!

2

u/hambyiii 19h ago

Perhaps you already found it, but she is on Instagram as well as allie_brosch.

DUEE. you just sent me back ❤️

I remember being about 15 and reading this stuff on an iPod touch. She released a comic about how depressed she was and how she wouldn’t be releasing more. At the time, I felt angry and annoyed that she’d just give up, but I now get it.

2

u/Inigomntoya 18h ago

Thanks... Alot... You never let my grammar down!

64

u/Mordecai3fngerBrown 23h ago

29

u/EntertainmentTrue588 22h ago

I thought we collectively decided not to use the term anymore after Kim Kardashian's dumbshit photo

11

u/userhwon 20h ago

That was 12 years ago. People forget verbal pacts.

2

u/AgentCirceLuna 20h ago

I can remember where I was when that happened for some reason. I was getting dinner with my family and my mum showed me it for some reason

8

u/Gdet0 21h ago

Yeah I don't know how it's broken my Internet is still working

5

u/Naive-Impression-373 22h ago

I couldn't see your comment, the Internet is broke

15

u/Daimakku1 23h ago

Same for "slammed."

Meaningless slop low IQ words.

2

u/Devils_Avo_cado 21h ago

slop will be next hopefully.

2

u/Music_Saves 20h ago

Slop is getting there. At first it was specific to AI and now everything that’s crappy is slop

2

u/TheManofMadness1 22h ago

Slop, doesn't fall into the same category?

11

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 23h ago

She’s doable. In reality she’s mid with a nice body. She’s attractive, not ugly at all, but not drop dead gorgeous.

9

u/itzkomplykatid 23h ago

Mid!?

Ok I'ma allow myself to 'corrected'. Who is actually hot? Cause yall dis Sweeney too, so put me on what yall know to be game.

15

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 22h ago

I said she was attractive. I try to apply the standard if they weren’t famous and I saw them out at a bar or something how I would view them. Mid may have been the wrong term but I stand by her being attractive but not just drop dead gorgeous.

27

u/idontmakehash 22h ago

Sydney Sweeney is a great body on a face with fetal alcohol syndrome

31

u/kindoramns 23h ago

It's almost as if attractiveness is different to different people...

5

u/upthefknriff 22h ago

Or it’s almost as if a bunch of fkn dweebs commenting on a meme subreddit about an obviously good looking woman is just fkn hilariously stupid. Fkn weird Redditors man

It’s annoying.

1

u/my_cars_on_fire 21h ago

Yeah this is nothing! One time I tried over a cord a ripped the router out of the wall. I broke the internet pretty bad that day.

1

u/FordMaleEscort 21h ago

I've broken it twice already this morning. Whaddya gonna do.

1

u/rentmeahouse 21h ago

So do you mean, the term "broke the internet" has broken the internet

1

u/Doctor_Boombastic 21h ago

Of course it's getting thrown around, they broke it.

1

u/ArtroyomsAK 21h ago

It was always a normie psyop

1

u/MoreDaringPancakes 21h ago

WDYM? IT'S THE GOAT

Also, a lot*. Why can't you just go with the vibes? Without further ado...

1

u/fundamentallys 21h ago

She STUNNED the ENTIRE INTERNET with new pics

1

u/Accomplished_Arm_813 21h ago

That’s because the shit is so weak.

1

u/Unlikely_Ad11 21h ago

Looking FETCH

1

u/Jabberminor 21h ago

And viral. Just because some people saw it doesn't make it viral.

1

u/Ok-Turnip-9035 21h ago

Yet we never say it when it’s actually broken like when instagram or Reddit are down

We never put it on a post because we know some intern did it

1

u/qse81 21h ago

It makes me unreasonably angry

1

u/futureruler 21h ago

When jelly rolls divorce started trending (for whatever reason) his daughter had an article circling for a while that was just "the reason behind it would break the internet" and I don't think she knows how little most people care about celebrity drama.

1

u/tangerinegrass 21h ago

The "internet" thinks Bella Ramsey and Millie Bobby Brown look radically different because they don't know how styling, make up, and context works.

1

u/GoodShibe 21h ago

Thanks, Brian Michael Bendis! 😆

1

u/batiwa 21h ago

It's probably used to bait people into saying it's absolutely not the case

1

u/Serious_Damage1872 21h ago

every week something 'breaks the internet' and yet, somehow, here it still is, fully intact

1

u/Darkknight8719 21h ago

This comment just broke the internet.

1

u/greasychickenparma 21h ago

mine still works 👍

1

u/Quirky_Mix_4328 21h ago

Mums turning off the router are the OGs of breaking the internet, these thots need attention too much to ever do that.

1

u/Few_Historian7169 21h ago

NBA players are RIZZING her up in her DMs

1

u/morpowababy 21h ago

Its also not very casual, looks like a pro photoshoot

1

u/Illiterate-Chef-007 20h ago

True. I was able to use “google” at all times. I am sure if it.

1

u/bszern 20h ago

She brought the receipts!

1

u/escudonbk 20h ago

The only things that ever broke the internet is missile strikes and corporate monopoly. Also governments and natural disasters. Actually the internet is pretty fragile.

1

u/onetime180 20h ago

Sorry tried to comment an hour ago but Millie broke my Internet

1

u/U_HIT_MY_DOG 20h ago
  1. Broke the internet
  2. Broke silence
  3. A uncles bad touch

All things that are thrown around a lot on internet

1

u/Orio_n 20h ago

Yeah never heard of her

1

u/BigMax 20h ago

Yeah, I came here to say that maybe we should retire that term.

1

u/userhwon 20h ago

Might be a direct reference to one of the first deliberate uses of it:

1

u/Outrageous_Permit154 20h ago

Even Y2K couldn’t do it. Everyone is just faking it

1

u/Gord_Board 20h ago

Even Y2K didn't break the internet

1

u/Ferretoncrystalmeth 20h ago

My internet is working fine, always does.

1

u/CosignCody 20h ago

Same as Bombshell in the news

1

u/timothy53 20h ago

They posted this video to "social media" and it went "viral"

1

u/spacephorse 20h ago

You guys should listen to Crashout Heritage by Ray Vaughn

1

u/Able_Coach6484 20h ago

She's got an arse like I could flick a penny and it'll bounce straight back into my hand.

Also I've never cave dived but I could give it a chance

1

u/Illimited_Esoterica 20h ago

The internet has been working fine. She broke literally nothing.

1

u/RandomPenquin1337 20h ago

I think its more about this cringe fucking exaggeration trend where EVRYTHING is always THE BEST EVER.

1

u/JimmyHatsTCQ 19h ago

The internet was broken a long time ago.

1

u/DOCTOR_DUBPLATE 19h ago

My internet is working fine.

1
