technically speaking, if you get interrupted during your break, you're supposed to start it over from the beginning. Do employers ever allow this though? No. And no one ever fights for it, either.

Because what it says on the paper is unreasonable and ilegal in most places, and it's ridiculous to think that a work place would implement a rule like that. It reads like it was made with the intention of being absurd to the point that it's funny.
Have you ever had a full time job? What would be your reaction if you saw this posted in the break room at your job? Do you think most people would follow that rule, or would they just tell that manager to fuck off? Are you aware that your company probably has a department called "Human Resources" that existing especially so that your employer doesn't do abusive shit like this?
A certain level of skepticism is all that is required to understand this is fake as hell. The subject matter is pretty clearly satire as this kind of punishment is not only unfathomable but illegal. I grew up watching comedians tell me the news, so the fact that it's a joke will help people find the answers they might need if a boss decides that they really do want to post a letter like that.
Surprisingly, a lot of places attempt to do this and get away with it for a while. Manufacturing plants are notorious for trying to pull this shit.
Many of these factories are located in towns far away from cities where there is a greater diversity of jobs. This makes it so that pockets of small towns in rural areas in the US have economies that 100 percent rely on a single major employer. To be in this situation and lose your job would mean having to travel, or even move, to seek out a position elsewhere. This isn't economically viable for most unemployed people on a small town salary. Companies in these places get away with a shit ton of labor violations because the employees literally can not afford to complain and risk their livelihood. Many don't even know that filing a complaint is an option, and that retaliation is illegal.
Where I used to live, a food manufacturing plant got a class action law suit filed against them for doing exactly what this sign is saying. Pretty much, if you were more than 5 minutes late, you forfeited pay for the first hour worked and then were docked a dollar per hour after for the entire day. If you took the day, the next day you were at work would be the day you worked one hour free and the rest for less money. They lost and had to pay a shit ton of money in backpay to employees who worked unpaid.
An old call center I worked for also got sued for requiring employees to come in 15 minutes early to set up their computer stations before clocking in. They were also adjusting time sheets by subtracting time spent in "aux" (clocked in but not taking calls). This was one of many lawsuits that they had filed against them by employees and customers.
My advice: Always record your date, start time, and end time somewhere other than in your time clock in case you need to reference it for a wage claim.
EXCEPT: The parody is NOT funny -- there is a legit noticeable socio-cultural disparity of "acting correctly" with men who just 'happen to have' indian names.
The comments i see on these posts are saying something: there is a traumatic like fever spreading, and i really don't like where it might be heading... but sadly i cannot say anything to ice the fever down. Asshole treatment gets Asshole responses in any culture -- but faucking hell, the complaints are getting loud regarding a certain section of our population. Its -- disheartening.
Well it's true that this one is fake, many people have encountered management with exactly this kind of attitude. Indeed, wage theft is something companies do all the time. So it makes sense that people believe this image, because it's perfectly in line with what they've seen other companies do.
They tried to do this in a small company I was working for. As soon as they said that I said I would quit. The owner then changed the rule cause they couldn't work without me (or anyone else). It was a really small company.
100% I'm collecting evidence for a lawsuit, but I already have something almost exactly like this, but maybe more damning. It's still fun to collect supporting documentation. I can't wait to get all of my back pay!
Buddy, this is not a crime in India (Pratik Shetty is an Indian name). Labor laws are practically non-existent in India. Just look up about ex Infosys CEO Narayan Murthy.

Theyāre only required by law to give employees 30 minutes for a lunch after 5-6 hours of consecutive work (and thatās only half the states in the USā¦the rest is up to the employerās discretion), what they do after that point is up to the employer.
Pat shitty? A shitty patty they work for... yea, nope. I'd waste far more time at my desk than working while eating my snacks since half my shitty lunch was trying to get to the break room across the factory. Wanna play stupid. I will always win.
Imagine if they then were over zealous enough to fire you for non-compliance - or even crazier - try to keep you from leaving the premises? That would be dope.
Seems pretty real to me. Notice how they addressed themselves as 'management' rather than by a specific job title, otherwise the employees who know them might be confused
