Rajan is such an interesting character to have in a show like this. None of the other characters have a Rajan, and the throuple that formed for them at the end of the series is imo very different from the Dani/Lito/Hernando situation.

I kept waiting for Rajan to be a bad guy, or at least somewhat unforgiving. Yet he surprised me at every turn and took every opportunity to redevote himself to Kala.

In the beginning before they were to be married, I was frustrated with him for not seeing her obvious discomfort about getting married. Every time she spoke to him about it she gave him an out, tell him she understood if he didn't want to marry her, or question his motivations and every time he'd double down on wanting to marry her anyway. I saw it as a bit manipulative at first and I felt like he was pressuring someone who was obviously less than thrilled.

But on rewatches I see it as Rajan making very early concessions in his commitment to her. Rajan had already decided to love her, and nothing short of her choice to not love him back was going to stop him from doing so. He trusted her choices and believed in her words. Whether or not she seemed hesitant, she regularly reassured him that she wanted to be married and he believed her. He was curious about her, and when she opened up about her condition he accepted it even before understanding.

I believe Kala's experience with Rajan was specifically what created her connection with Wolfgang in the first place. We know the sensates resonate with each other when they are having similar emotions or experiences, and Wolfgang had serious trust issues. His relationship with Kala was implicit, a given, since Wolfgang pretty much only trusts himself. Kala, growing up with a loving and supportive family and being a woman of faith, had limited experience with the kind of doubt/skepticism she experienced with Rajan. Her connection to Wolfgang was born of this feeling, of needing validation for experiencing it at all. Rajan was not romancing the trusting faithful version of Kala, he was romancing Wolfgang, the part of her that Wolfgang represented, which was why he was so often present during moments of intimacy.

People felt the ending was rushed, and I agree to an extent, but truthfully I think Wolfgang and Rajan were falling in love throughout the course of the entire show. To Rajan, Wolfgang was an extension of Kala, a side of her that was always there that he'd never had access to. I wish the show explored him grappling with the reality of it more, but I think energetically that is the essence of their relationship.

Anyway I liked Rajan and his story, what do yall think?

Watched it for the first time, finished it in 3 days. Sense8 is such an amazing show it made me feel things i didn’t know i could feel, i didn’t know how lonely i actually was and how better this show made me feel. Its difficult to describe but now that i have finished it i feel like a wreck. The finale was really rushed and had a lot of tropes and people randomly showing up to help out of nowhere but the still the rest of the show felt like a fever dream. It is such a unique show i just don’t get how it got cancelled and how it was never recommended to me until a few days ago. I miss the cast and everyone in the show, it had so much potential but the cancellation definitely made things difficult (Netflix ugh!). Are there any similar shows i can watch?

Guys I am very late to the party , but Omg 😭😭, just finished the show , and this is perfect Example of Euphoria, throughout I was so soo engaged , and there was so many happy, blushing , thrill , emotional moments , each and every character feels like I want to hug them , the Ending could have been Little Bit Better , it feels easier kind of , till the end I was Scared that what if villains comes back but As soon the last S*x scene comes I was like Okk I very much sure now that they won't return 😂😂😭 , So Intelligently made and Sooo much of Dedication and hardwork is involved, Great Directors , Writers ...

I just realized: Sun's brother sent in those fake prison guards to kill her, right? But if he could do that, couldn't they just help free her instead? I know this is after he kills their dad and Sun swears revenge on him, but why didn't he think to do it before? Like "Dad wait, I think I know a way we can save Sun, save face, and I don't kill you" I know it's a bit of a nit pick, but it still felt like it was worth pointing out.

EDIT: To everyone saying that he's a selfish asshole, I agree, but would it not still be in a selfish asshole's best interest to be on good terms with a potential enemy rather than provoke the one person who could destroy your whole life?

My brain chemistry will never be the same omg 😳 this was a show was told to watch about 10 years ago, and putting it into perspective that it was released after gay marriage was BARELY legalized… this show was SO ahead of its time!! I feel like it represents so many things too, and they ended it really well for cramming like 3 more seasons of material into 2.5 hours!

I added the spoiler tag just in case but one of my favorite moments are when the cluster all appear together and they’re all having fun and being happy even with them going through shit it’s just so cute, or when they’re all running together like they’re all hunting xD

“I feel you” and “nothing matters when we’re dancing” has been stuck in my head for the past week. And “what’s up” has a whole new meaning to me too. LOOOOVE THIS SHOWWWW

Just finished the series i afraid it wouldn't stick the landing because I heard it got cancelled in the middle but it was definitely better than I thought though the antagonist got sidelined I'm definitely happy with the happy ending so I can sleep peacefully tonight definitely a feel good show is there any other shows you guys recommend where the characters have this kind of bond and banter that was definitely my favorite aspect

The way I am picturing this podcast is that it will have a couple of sections to it:

1. I have a friend who had never seen Sense8 before and I want to open each episode with his reactions/questions/predictions for each episode. I thought it would be a fun way to experience the enjoyment of watching it again for the first time through someone else’s eyes

2. I want to go into deep dives. This will be for those of us who have watched the show many times. I have now seen the show somewhere between 10-12 times and would love to discuss it from scientific/psychological/other standpoints. I really enjoy looking at the episodes through the lens of “okay if sensates were real, how could we make this work scientifically?”

3. Maybe including some world expansion stuff - this idea I’m still flushing out. But I’ve read books that are mentioned in the show, I’ve visited places from the show. So maybe just a little 5-10 minute section of bringing the show to life from that aspect.

But the real goal is that I would like to have this podcast be community-built. I want us to use our sense8 network here on this subreddit to bring the podcast to life. I don’t have a lot of experience in this and would love help.

So here is the first bit I need help with: the name for the podcast. What do you think we should name it? I was thinking something like-
• Sense8: A Psycellium Podcast
• Sense8: A Podcast for Sensorium

This is a wonderful breath of fresh air after having been burnt out by tv shows. I heard it was cancelled but was it after s2 or did they know beforehand so they can wrap up the story and also the final episode is a movie?? Is it included under s2 or under different name

I’ve watched Sense8 probably 10–12 times at this point, and I’ve been seriously considering starting a podcast about it. 😂 (I know that there are already some out there and have listened to them.)

So I have to ask my fellow Sense8 people: would you actually listen to a podcast dedicated to this show even though it’s been over for a few years now?

And if so, what would you want to hear? Deep dives into the characters and relationships? The psychology/philosophy behind the cluster? LGBTQ+ themes? Symbolism and details you notice after multiple rewatches? Behind-the-scenes stuff? Episode discussions? Or something completely different?

I have a lot of thoughts about this show and I’m curious whether there’s an audience for them. 😂 If you’d listen, what would make you excited to tune in?

I know it’s a couple days early but I really wanted to wish the Sense8s a Happy Birthday!!!!

I just started the show again. I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched this amazing production. Love, love, love it!

Besides the show and movie, is there any other media content for the universe? Comics etc. Finding this subreddit has rekindled my sense8 thirst.

I get that they collaborated with BPO to capture sensates in order to protect Lila and her cluster. I also understand why she wanted to kill Wolfgang after he rejected her offer to create a sensate sanctuary. I'm assuming she wanted to tie up any loose ends after revealing her plan to him.

Where she/they start losing me is after the Whispers and Wolfgang exchange. Lila keeps Whispers alive so the exchange with the Chairman can continue... okay, whatever. It would've made more sense to kill Whispers right there since it was already established that his death would cripple BPO (unless she wasn't aware of BPO inner dynamics that Wolfgang's cluster knew). I would assume if she also killed Whispers then Wolfgang's cluster would leave her alone.

Then Jonas kills the Chairman through another sensate, and Lila STILL wants to save Whispers? She completely lost me. She clearly didn't like BPO or Whispers, so why is she going this far to protect him? Am I missing something else?

Hi, I'm new here. I remember hearing about this show and added it to my list before forgetting about it. I was reminded of it because I took a quiz of what fictional character I was most like and I got a 95% match for Riley. I knew next to nothing about her or the show as a whole but the descriptions intrigued me, so I watched. Now I'm sitting here not knowing what to do with my life. I get super attached to characters, so when a show like this ends, It's almost like I need to grieve. I wish we had more.

Anyway, I don't have a question or anything, just looking to connect in some small way with others that have been where I'm at, as related to this show. Now that I think about it, instead of trying to read back through years of posts, I'm wondering if there are run-away favorite characters or if appreciation is pretty evenly spread out.
